Impossible to organize artist names & Albums years of output in alphabetical order on Windows Media Player 11.

Greetings,

When I copy my CD in the library in Windows Media Player 11, I noticed it is in alphabetical order, the names of the artists & Album title, & doesn't not not artists names in alphabetical order & the YEARS of each album. Why is it like that on the Window Media Player 11 & how to adjust to the names of artists in alphabetical order & YEARS of each new release Albums & not the other was around?

Eureka! I got it! All Albums are organized based on output of the year! Thank you!

When I open one of these subfolders, writing the name of the artist, but all the tracks have been listed as track 1, track 2, track... in the library, that I went to this artist's album. Hello

I have a MyTouch 4 G and I wanted to sync with my Windows Media Player library (I'm using Windows Vista). Then I added all my albums and their added work in my library. Once the synchronization is complete, I unplugged my phone. All the songs were there, but the work was not. D: but the names of the artists and albums are there. What I am doing wrong?

    Hello

Try these steps and check if the problem persists,

    1. click on "Start" then "all programs", then "Windows Media Player."

    2. right click on the album you want to add a picture to, and then click "find album info". Wait a few minutes while Windows Media Player connects to the Internet and download album art for your songs.

    3. connect your myTouch to your computer with the USB cord. The next time that you sync music, the album art will be transferred as well

Is there something I can do to get the WMP for the artist and the song appears on my car player after burning or I buy an another Roxio? Thanx.

  • Downloaded the album doesn't play no not on Windows Media Player

I recently bought a movie that included the soundtrack download. I downloaded the soundtrack the same day that I ripped several other CD on my computer. I encountered a problem where for some reason, everything was put in my document rather than windows media player, which never happened to me before, so I transferred both downloaded album all CDs ripped on a playlist on windows media player. When I was unable to get transferred to my library, I gave up for the day and thought a few days to think about that I could understand it. I came home last night and all the albums themselves had moved into my library, with the exception of the downloaded album, and when I clicked it, a message comes up saying windows media could not find the file and that if I tried to burn, rip, or sync and the album that represents the position in my library, can point to an album that has been moved renamed, or deleted. I went to move my documents once again, but he was no longer there and the only place where I can find it is in the playlist, where it does not. I tried redownloading it, but it's a download time. I ran the windows media control and he says he has a corrupted file but don't tell me what to do to this topic or even what the corrupted file was for sure, but I guess it was the downloaded item. If anyone has ideas of how to do to solve this problem it would be greatly appreciated

Unfortunately, it was a Web site that has been created strictly for downloads, and when I click on the download that put it directly in the folder my documents, where I had to then transfer to my playlist, so I think he just didn't upload properly

  • Organize albums and artist music with Windows media player 12

I have a few pieces of music that have the album artist and song metadata added. I move the files in my music folder. In Windows Media Player, the songs are grouped together in an album with titles correctly. I thought that WMP would move the files in the folders (album or artist), but the files are not moved.

It's been a while since I added my library music (they are files, not CD). Is this a normal behavior does not move the actual files? Or that only happen during extraction of music from a CD?

    Thank you.

Hi - Yes, you can add the music in any way that the costumes, but if you want organized by folder (and this is not already the case) you must create a folder of artist - and then in this context, a record album... In Windows 7, it's probably a good idea to do before moving to the music folder. I would like to know if you want any clarification of this... Best regards, Ric.

  • Sort Albums by year (Windows Media Player 11).

    Here's the question.

I want to sort my music by artist and then by album release date (year). This can be accomplished by changing my rip directories, but there is no sorting option for this view in Windows Media Player 11.

I wish that all the photos to sort through this way.
    Not in this way.

Using the view 'Artist' will allow me to show all records artist separately, but once an artist is selected, all the pictures are sorted by alphabetical album title by default.

Sort by 'File' is a difficulty, however, that one album can be played at a time.

Ideally, a list of all the songs by artist, then album release date, then the album track number would be the most preferred look one and reading method. The ability to view the art of the cover of the album somewhere on the left side of the screen would be considered a bonus.

This issue will never be treated? Is there a fix Windows Media 12?

Only solution that I can think of is to change the album TAG. Example: "Album name" for "Album name (2000)", but is not preferred because 1, it is extra and incorrect information and 2, can cause database issues later on the road.

Thank you. Please address or difficulty! I enjoy new Windows Media player and eager to pass that my primary music player.

    Figured it out myself!

It is possible to sort the albums of the artist in order of launch date in Windows Media Player 11.

Right click on the columns to sort near the top of the screen.

    Select "choose columns...". »

At the bottom of the pop up option button, click the checkbox "include release date in default sort order."

Which brings us to our next problem!

Now, the albums are sorted from the newest to the oldest, as opposed to the desired direction chronologically from oldest to newest.

You can click on the column heading 'Album' to use, but Windows Media Player 11 does not this preference of sort memory.

Is there or is there a fix for this?

    Edit:

Found my answer for that as well:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/FAQ/library.mspx#q1_20

It does not seem to WMP11 do not forget your sorting preferences was done intentionally.

This concludes my questions and honestly, looks like a poor choice that I would like to see fixed.

Hope this helps someone else in the future.

  • I can't change the name of the artist in windows media player 12

I just got a new computer with windows 7 and windows media player 12. I can't change the name of the artist... the only thing I can change is the name of the song. I have a bunch of songs apparently by an artist called "Various Artists" (even if the playlist on the right has the artist right next to the name of the song)

After almost losing my mind I finally realized that if I went to 'Artist' under the music heading and 'edition' "various artists" by clicking right select edit and then it is empty. But that only put some of the songs in the right places. I have now 2 songs always under "Various Artists" and apparently no way to solve this problem. It's so frusterating. Is not able to organize and change the information the whole point of WMP? Why am I required to have two completely different artists and songs under the title "various artists" I'm afraid to download more music because if another song goes under "various artists" I could just smash my brand new computer.

What version of WMP, I had on my old computer had an advanced tag editor... Why is it that has been subscribed? And then I'm on the subject it's terrible this new Windows Media player is why is there not more "recently added" tab? It would have been helpful in trying to find music mistagged I just add... or maybe I should remember that all the songs are technically 'Various Artists' and just look there first.

You can also change the Album artist for the music , if you select the column of the Album artist , right click on a column heading and selecting ... Choose the columns . Tim Baets

  • Windows Media Player 12 sort artists by year

In Windows Media Player 11, I used to sort Albums artist of the year. But in Windows Media Player 12, it seems that I have more of this choice. It only sorts by Album name in alphabetical order. What can I do to be able to sort by year? Thank you.

Hey, it's possible. I looked out on the internet for a solution, and all say the same thing, is not possible, well it is!

    Here is the procedure:

-Choose to view your music by artist: this very important step, because this setting appears only in this situation.

    http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/9007/step1u.jpg

-Right click on the top of the bar and choose: choose the columns as in the picture below!

    http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/1755/step2ns.jpg

-Choose: Include the release date in default sort, the option highlighted in the image below:

    http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/370/step3n.jpg

    -The result looks like this:

    http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/5780/step4y.jpg

Note the version of wmp highlighted!

So, there is a solution... but to be honest I have not find on the internet and scared, because everyone should have this question...

Sorry for my English hope this helps!

  • Windows media player artists name has additional symbol at the end

In Windows Media Player, a little square symbol follows the name of the artist on some of the entries.  I try to remove it and it comes back.  This translates to a separate artist for a few songs in the same album.  Also, if I try to display songs from the artist, I get 8 different versions / inscriptions of the artist with the symbol of the square after the name, rather than an inscription by the artist with all his songs.

Is there a way to fix this?

  • Windows Media Player 11. Way to change the batteries in the album art library the order in artist view?

    Hello

    (A purely aesthetic problem here)

In windows media player when look at a library in the artist discovers mode, my albums are indicated as "batteries" under each name of respective artists. What determines the order of these batteries? Is it possible to choose the order yourself?

I want to be able to choose because I don't like the look of some of my album covers, and I'd rather have my favorites upstairs.

    Thank you very much

    Adam

    Hi Adamclarke,

You can sort albums by choosing the options to sort the album art, title, length, rating and other areas.

Above the albums listed, right-click on the album and choose sort by album. In the same way, you can sort the other areas.

  • Windows Media Player 12 loses album artist information when you use WHS .wav

There seems to be a bug in WMP 12 who loses the album artist information when you use a WHS .wav files.

Installation - WMP 12 on Windows 7 ultimate. WHS pp3. Music files stored in .wav format.

There is a marking Wav format is possible. I read on Broadcast Wav files. They are 32-bit. I also read on 64-bit Wav files. What I read there is a limit to the size of the files Wav 32-bit and 64-bit Wav files exceed this limit. Most of the people don't need now. But as a producer of music, I can see how me should before you. Look for a program called reason by Propellerhead software: http://www.propellerheads.se/products/reason/. I ' v read in their help file, you can send support and they will help you find what you need. I've also read about this and said a little on other internet forums for producers. I have no reason, I use another software.

Broadcast Wav: He is apparently slightly different than regular Wav files. It doesn't have as much support. Some programs or systems apparently don't read the id3 tags, have trouble with the id3 tags or have trouble with this format. So until this id3 Wav tagging is common and Wav files EVENTUALLY get their marking permanently, then what is out at the moment is all that is available.

WMA lossless, Wav and mp3 320 kbps, etc. have a difference in sound. Listen for yourself on your device with the SAME material and the SAME Ripper programs your test files.

The other way I tested is: I make music. Then I tore, Wav, WMA Lossless and a type of lossless, mp3 320 Kbps and mp3 256 kbps. I put all the them in the music program, I separated, but on the same timeline. I cut everything that I did not listen. I spent some time checking them. There were notable and other differences not so. I noticed a difference in the WMA and WAV. It's light and sometimes noticeable. Most people cannot tell the difference, and an MA at home or in a club from a Wav will not be a huge difference, especially when a Dj, or you can set low, the midrange and treble slightly.

I couldn't test the AAC lossless files. My program is old and can't stand them. AAFC would however close to WMA. Give or take.

WAV is a champion and always the wins service. I wish he was marking. :-).

Windows Media Player has a certain set of algorithms. And one CAN customize the tear. Some ripping programs ALLOW you to customize the way in which he is torn. But you can run into problems. For example: some compression or equalizer settings are perfect for 90% of an album, but most of the songs are recorded differently or edited and mixed differently. If they are not always level throughout the album, and there may be some fluctations.

I myself would enjoy tears to measure for a better quality and even be able to MAXIMIZE the lossless or compressed (for example: mp3) formats and make their the best sound possible. But it takes too long, and most people don't have this time or need this. These people do as a profession, are HARDCORE audiophiles or archive sound for a much higher use,:-P.

I don't know what are the algorithms of WMP to rip. ITunes or WinAmps, etc.. It comes to be able to do custom tears. These algorithms affect your copy, transfer and archiving. This is another reason why each program is slightly different, even when they use the same open or not open source coding.

That's what I'v has learned. It's the best I got.

  • Windows Media Player Version 12 new problem rip CDs: no album info.

I use Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 7 Home Premium OS V..  I was rip CDs to this computer for years without any significant problems and have hundreds of CD in MP3 format in my library of music.  When I recently tried to rip a new batch of CD, the albums were coming all up as 'Unknown' album & artist, "track 1, track 2,... and follow n for the titles of the songs."  After the investigation period, a pop up window would come saying "Windows Media Player cannot download information on the media for this CD... "What has happened to WMP and how to fix it?

HI - the first necessary check is if nothing has changed after a recent update for the media player (you may remember being asked to set your preferences) view of library in WMP go to 'organize' - 'options' and check that internet access is authorized and in the privacy, the "online display media information" tab is checked. If these settings are correct, then we will study more deeply... Thank you - r.

  • Windows media player does not differentiate between the multiple discs from the same album

    editing by Windows media player

All ripping a pair of compact discs windows libraries program "merges" both folders when I change the title of the album, the artist name, and genre stars, so that the list of songs is 1,1,2,2,3,3 etc. until runway 15 where the first, longest, cd continues to his last runway 23.  It's confusing to me, because I want to be able to label and burn each file separately.
