Impossible to reinstall Windows Live Essentials

I had to reinstall Windows XP Home, and now I can't reinstall Windows Live Essentials.  He tells me that I have, but I can't find the programs.  How can I get past this to reinstall the whole package and not only the toolbar and silverlight?

  • Windows Live Essentials (Beta) install problems

Following the crash of my MSN Messenger (which was after a recommended update; the "Windows Live Essentials")... On the list of recommendations for "problem reports and solution." I read about Windows Live Essentials Beta, which I've tried to install without success. Tried several times, with a variety of error codes, for which the recommendations didn't work.

Now, a new attempt for the 10th consecutive day, Live Essentials beta installer stops and says:

    "Install Windows Platform Update;

My Windows updater does not offer such update and couldn't find where and how I could locate and install this update pre-required, before which it seems impossible to install Windows Live Essentials Beta (in fact to reinstall any version of MSN Messenger or Windows Live Essentials). My Windows Update is in automatic mode and constantly keeps downloading all important updates practically at the time of the question.

  • Windows Live Essentials Beta - "could not find the entry point.

I have completed, to the best of my knowledge, the updates that VISTA offers. And yet impossible to download Windows Live Essentials Beta.  It's problems for my computer by other means and it slows down.

I did a great job keeping my computer clean of viruses and parasites. I did my due diligence on scans, defrags and keep clear of all dangerous downloads.

It's time to transition my VISTA to Windows 7? More importantly,is it safe to do? I don't have $1,000 to invest in another computer?  Can I make the transition to Windows 7 without putting my computer at risk? Where should I start?

    Computer: Compaq Presario PC

    Model: SR5130NX

    Version of Windows: Vista

Problem: I know exactly what I did to cause this: I would open Windows Live Movie Maker and it asked me to update to Windows Live Essentials 2011. I started to let that happen, but then I thought, ' wait, maybe I should cancel this update and check to see if there is already a newer version (for example, '2012') of Windows Live Essentials "(I had no idea at the time where it's the only version of Windows Live Essentials, should I use for Vista). So I cancelled the update and that's where I made my mistake. He canceled for me and said something along the lines of "it may be a problem with one or more of the programs (such as). Now, if I try to open Windows Live Essentials to start the update, I just get the same message on my screen: a small box entitled, circle of "Windows Live Essentials 2011"with a big red with a white 'X', then to the right of which the title, 'You are installing other programs' there." Then he says below, "Please wait until all other programs are finished installing and then try again." • How to uninstall Windows live essentials so when I try to reinstall all of them appear as the installation options?

I'm using IE8 and windows live essentials. I tried to uninstall windows live essentials and it was no problem. When I downloaded the game to reinstall again had the options to reinstall one of them with the exception of one who was not installed. How can I clean uninstall live essentials so everything is reinstalled again?

    Hello godsdragon,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

It shows that you have a corruption in your file system.
    Run the System File Checker:

    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: sfc/scannow

This will check for any violation of the integrity and repair any damaged operating system files.

    Restart your system

Then try again and download and install Windows Installer Cleanup Tool. Click here to download the utility.
You can use the utility to remove installation information for programs that were installed by using Windows Installer. Remember that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility does not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall on.

If this does not work uninstall, reinstall the program and then try to uninstall again. Usually, this will help to eliminate all aspects of the programs.

    I hope this helps.

  • uninstall Windows live essentials

I am on Windows 7 with a 64-bit laptop DV7. I have problems with Windows Live Mail, because when I click on the Inbox, sent. deleted etc, nothing happens. The only way I can get to my mail is to use 'Find' or to go to my Plusnet account. This is a nuisance. I have been informed through groups of Microsoft users that the best way to overcome this problem is to uninstall windows Live Essentials and instructions on how to do are on the Microsoft Web site. However, when I try I can't bring up the windows that would allow me to do. (see "how to remove and reinstall Windows Live Rssentials - I can't past 3 and" can't not "Uninstall") Could it be because there is a slight modification to the Hp software please, and if so someone can tell me how I can uninstall and then reinstall. Otherwise, it seems now that I'll have to go through the pain of complete recovery to try to resolve the problem. For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. GordonW

  • Windows Live Essentials 2011 (KB2434419) deleted my Adobe Reader 9 software

After the installation of Windows Live Essentials 2011 (KB2434419), my saved PDF files and PDF files from the web sites do not open.  While solving this problem, I discovered that my Adobe Reader 9 software has been removed.  Is this a normal occurrence with this update?

I'm not really sure of this that deleted your Adobe Reader 9 software, so just reinstall the same 100% and see if it corrects the problem.

If you want to know if, in fact, WLE deleted Adobe Reader, then post on the appropriate forum-

  • Problems with Windows Update for Windows Live Essentials 2011 (KB2434419)

Yesterday, I noticed that there is an update available for my Vista and Windows 7 computers.  I started to perform the update.  About halfway through, the update hung.  I noticed a secondary window jumps to the top.  Using the secondary window, I was able to complete the update.

The first update window continued to be hung.  I restarted the computer.  After the re-start, I have re-opened Windows Update and went to look at the history of the update.

The story says that the update failed with error code:

  • Windows 7 - a lot of problems after installing Windows Live Essentials 11

Help!  I did an update recommended this morning... There were 2... not computer saavy, so do not know what they were called. But, it has changed our e-mail window & I do not like change. Also, if I scan a picture to send by e-mail, something which is called SkyDrive is used and it cuts the top of each scan on my end and the recipient, & on end recip, it shows pictures too small to see how no matter how much detail & they can't find a way to enlarge it. I need to this scan and send to work.  I can somehow get rid of these windows updates?  If this is not the case, can I at least get rid of the sky drive so we use it not for a scanned image? We use Windows Live Mail, so when I saw Windows Live for the update, I thought it was just for the e-mail program and I had to do. However, I had to sign up for Windows Live, & I have no need of all _'s done it now.  I want my old program back without losing anything that is stored in the process, like electronic program records complete. If I knew it wasn't an update of simple e-mail program, I never would have it.
