Impossible to update my system for Windows 8.1 of the store and he asked administrator account.

Original title: windows store question

Windows store does not update windows 8.1.  He asked for the administrator account.  I am the only user and my account says I'm the administrator.  The computer is synchronized and location has been changed.  How can I fix it?

Hello Beverly,.

Welcome to Microsoft Community forum.

If you can not upgrade to Windows 8.1, I suggest trying the steps by Vivian Samartha responded on April 12, 2014 in the following thread and see if it works for you.

http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows8_1-windows_install/kb2919355-Windows-81-update-fails-800f0092-and/4d4d23a3-695a-4bd4-B340-d2ce9c75919d

If the problem persists after trying the above steps, I'll ask to follow the steps given by David Williams Dixon in the Blog below.

Something happened and the 8.1 Windows installation may not be completed. (And now you are bored)

We know if the steps help you in upgrading the computer to Windows 8.1.

My laptop is 1 year old HP. I also prefer to use Norton. What can I do? Can Andy I find an older version of Firefox in Norwegian?
    Thanks for listening.
    Michele your

Firefox's JavaScript should be enabled by default. Can you provide more information about the messages that you have found on this subject?

At the same time, to examine the question of Norton and your language:

Norton has been a big topic of communication of updates for Firefox via LiveUpdate a few days before each new version of Firefox is available. But that changed with Firefox 41. Due to the change in Firefox (which was originally going to be in 40 Firefox but was delayed at the request of Norton and maybe a few other companies), the toolbar needs major changes and they are still not available yet. Norton issued a statement on this subject: https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v115161915_EndUserProfile_en_us

If you want to use an updated version of Firefox that allows to run the current Norton Toolbar, there are another option. You might consider a different variant of Firefox called the Extended Support Release (ESR) for the moment. ESR is designed for businesses that require a cycle time longer between changes to the features, but anyone can run it.

ESR is currently based on Firefox 38. It will get updates of security over the coming months, but not to get new features, so changes in Firefox 41 concerning the compatibility of the add-on will not be out for a good time.

Norton is likely to continue to support the ESR until the new update of toolbar. After that, I don't know what they will do because normally they don't take over a small range of versions.

If you decide to try it, here's how I suggest to install:

    Clean reinstall it

We use this name, but it isn't about deleting your settings, this is to ensure that the program, files are clean (not incompatible, corrupt or exotic code files). As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.

    (A) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 38.3.0esr of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

    (B) the release of Firefox (if any).

    (C) to rename the program folder, either:

    (Windows 64-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Fx41

    (Windows 32-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files\Fx41

    (D) run the installer downloaded to (A). It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

    Success?

Note: Some plugins can only exist in the old folder. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:

    • \Fx41\Plugins
    • \Fx41\browser\plugins

  • Try to install the Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 - on SP3.

    Hello

All this started when my Xbox360 is dead, sent it for repair, came home another, all hung up and tried to connect to the Media Center. Of course, it did not work and the screen says to uninstall? (something), I forgot today, it has been a long road since then. BUT I uninstalled Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 and updates that came after. NOW realize it was a mistake, I'm not of the Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 on your computer. And I'm confused regarding why, for the first time, that I can't find a single KB article on this problem.

And even if I did not restore the system off, there is no restore point on my machine.

So I'm always searching in google and microsoft.com but a little lost right now.

    Moccan,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.  I would like to know if you read this article for the hotfix rollup: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/900325.  In particular the section more information, which has this:

If the 886904 update is installed, you must uninstall the 886904 update before you install the Update Rollup 2 for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. Otherwise, the installation of .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 will fail.

To determine whether the 886904 update is installed, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, click run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
    2. Click to select the Show updates check box.
    3. In the currently installed programs list, look for the following element:
Fix for Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 (KB886904)

If you see this option, you must remove the hotfix. To remove the patch, click Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Hotfix (KB886904), and then click Remove. Then, visit the Windows Update Web sit to download and install the Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

    Hi Joseph,.

You can also try to download the standalone update package and check.

    Hello

    1. what exactly happens when you try to install the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7? Do you receive an error message?

You can try to install update of the tool system by placing the computer in a clean boot state and see if it settles, as there may be interference from third-party software during installation.

  • Blue Screen installation updates (KB2419640) & (KB2478935) for Windows Vista

I get the blue screen when I install the above, and this update was 12/01/2011 and continues to reappear after I restore the system to January 9. So I turned off auto updates but isn't this bad since I DON'T want to prevent remote control?  What can I do to fix these two updates. No blue screen before these updates, but as soon as I say yes to reboot on blue screen. What is a L1T (level a techie) to do. I need this computer until I get a job!

Thanks to the intervention of Halima S... I'm ready to tackle this problem without restoring the system. My only concern is that this command deletes previous restore dates and that the option is permanently deleted. However, first I have to print the steps to follow for a clean boot and re-read. I will work from there... Still down thanks!

    Hi Apple2DellExperience,

    1. are you able to install some other updates on the computer?

    2. what was the message on blue screen?

    3. do you have security software installed on the computer?

It is not recommended to disable the automatic update.

These updates will be revived again after the system restore.

I suggest that you manually download and install the update, check if it works.

Also, make sure you disable all the third-party program installed on the computer during the update installation process.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

First thing is to update your network drivers for your system.  Then see if after the update of safety, you have a problem.  If you do, I would do the following:

    Disk error checking

    System File Checker

    (a) don't you try to install the update manually?

    (b) you get any error message?

    (c) don't you make changes to the computer until the problem occurred?

    (d) what anti-virus software is installed on your computer?

I suggest you try the steps below and check if it helps

    Method 1:

If you have installed a security software on the computer, then I suggest you to temporarily disable a software antivirus installed on the computer and check if the same problem occurs

Note: Please make sure that you activate the software of Antivirus\Firewall after the test to keep your computer protected.
