Impossible to update to 10.11.3

I have a macbookpro running 2014 10.11.2.

On the upgrade for 10.11.3. the upgrade will take care of the app store, but when the computer reboots, the system freezes.

I tried downloading upgrade as well, the same result, the system freezes on reboot.

I tried to reinstall OS x via the recovery option menu of order R, same result, the system freezes on reboot.

The only thing that works is a complete recovery of the former status of the old backup.

Any ideas?

Best regards, Michael

Hello Michael,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

From your post, I understand that your Mac does not completely start, but you are able to boot to OS X Recovery.  To start, I suggest that you try to start your Mac in safe mode.

Start in safe mode can help you diagnose problems you're having with your Mac.

Choose the Apple menu > shut down.

  1. After your Mac stops, wait 10 seconds, then press the power button.

  2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.

You must press the SHIFT key as soon as possible once you hear the startup tone, but not before.

  3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator.

To exit safe mode, restart your Mac, but no press during the startup.

OS X El Capitan: start in safe mode

See you soon.
