Impossible to use Acrobat Standard XI

Once opened, Acrobat Standard 11.0.08 crashes after a few seconds.

I get a msg box with (see figure below).

Same result with the new installation and updates of 11.0.08 11.0.0.

I'm using a Sony VAIO (8.1 Windows - French, 8 GB of memory).

Hi clean_be,

Please, try the following steps:

Delete all the files in the following folders:

C:\ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore

C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Adobe\SLCache

And delete all the files in the folder following except cache.db

C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Adobe\ Adobe PCD

Then launch Acrobat, accept EULA and re-enter the serial number and check.

Kind regards

Rave

  • Is there a way we can use Acrobat Standard to assign a password for opening of the signed PDF file once it has been downloaded from DocuSign?

Before execution of DocuSign, we have used to digitize a manually signed document to a PDF file, and then store the PDF file in a file of human resources share.  We would then use Adobe Writer Standard to assign a password to read/write to the PDF file.  Now, we use DocuSign to have electronically signed documents and download the PDF of the DocuSign in our files of human resources.  However Adobe Acrobat Writer we cannot assign a password.  It appears a dialog box saying "' you cannot change security on this document because the document is signed or certified".  We want to continue to be able to store the PDF file in our file sharing HR to restrict who can see off on the part of the passwords.  Is there a way we can assign a password for the PDF file once it has been downloaded from DocuSign?

You can use the Adobe PDF printer to print PDF signed to unsigned PDF and then encrypt the result.

  • Impossible to update Acrobat Standard XI

    Hello

I have a client with about 8 users and so far I have had problems with 2 workstations. They require an update to Acrobat XI and an error message that the installer has sufficient permissions to modify some files in the installation directory. I read the provided article, deleted the software, deleted all files associated with and registry entries, reassigned permissions for root folders and reinstalled. Even reinstalling Acrobat we run into the same error, however a new attempt on each file allows the installation finish. I have check the updates and always find updates and meet exactly the same set of errors during the installation. I am at this stage of ideas and need help please.

  • Using Acrobat in mode Windows 7 XP Pro 7.1

I just bought a new computer with Windows 7 Pro installed. Can I install and use most or all the features of Acrobat Standard 7.1 mode XP Win 7 Pro?

But I need a new activation number to install Acrobat 7.1?  (I am mistaken that Adobe cooperates to give me another, even if I am the registered owner)?

    Thank you very much!

I would also like to continue to use Acrobat Standard 7.1 under Windows 7. I have the edition pro with XP mode.

Windows Compatibility Web page shows the standard 7.1 install
in Win 7 (no mention of the XP Pro mode is required): http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Software&p=Adobe%20Acrobat%20Standard&v=Adobe&uid=7&l=en&pf=1&pi=0&s=Acrobat%20Standard%207.1&os=64-bit

I have a few questions: 7.1 install directly in Windows 7 without using the XP mode?

Will I need another activation key number and Adobe give me one for this old edition of Acrobat? (I'm the original purchaser and registered with Adobe when I bought it.)

Thanks a lot for your help!

You can probably do that - but the only way to be sure is to try.  It probably ONLY works inside the XP mode virtual machine, though - so its utility will be limited and probably a pain.

Do you just need a way to "print to PDF" or do you really need editing capabilities?

You don't always have your serial number for Adobe Acrobat Standard 7.x?

It is still installed on another system?  If so - use Belarc Advisor to get the key for her.

  • Edition in Acrobat Standard DC

Can I track changes made to the changes that make using Acrobat Standard DC?

Not really. Acrobat isn't a word processing application, so it doesn't have these features.

Best you can do is use the Compare Documents to compare two versions of the same document. However, this feature is available in the version of Acrobat Pro.

    Hi Mike,.

If you purchased a subscription of Acrobat (and do not have a creative cloud membership), follow the steps described in this document: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-trial-removed-previous-version.html

The link to the installation program you need appears at the bottom of the document, in the section "subscribed to Acrobat.

  • Is possible to save a form using Acrobat Reader? How?

    Hi all

Decree No. presidential apology for my bad English...

    Hi Enrique.

So that users with the reader to be able to save your form, it must be "enabled drive" before you send it.

    You have three choices:

    • Drive allow the form with LC Reader Extensions ES2, which is a component of server based on the rest of the company. It is planned for the processing of large volumes of data/forms and an additional cost per form.
    • Player select the form using Acrobat Standard v9 (or Acrobat Pro v7 to v8). It has less than 500 users per form license restrictions.
    • Instead of users with reader to send the return in PDF form. You can configure a button "send as XML. It does not require users to drive to save the form.

I have a summary of the features that are available/restricted depending on whether the form is activated and how it has been activated on our blog: http://assurehsc.ie/blog/index.php/2010/05/using-livecycle-forms-in-acrobat-and-reader/

When you open the sample at the end of the post, if you hover over the question marks, you can see screenshots of the activation process.

    Hope that helps,

    Niall

  • Impossible to edit PDFS with Adobe Acrobat Standard DC

    Hello

One of my users try to modify a PDF file that does not currently have recognizable text. I understand that if nothing are recognized that you can't modify it until you run OCR.

Although my agreement with Adobe Acrobat DC after choosing 'Edit PDF' Acrobat will automatically recognize the text on the first page to make it editable, even if for my user after choosing 'Edit PDF' they receive this error message:

    Capture.PNG

If I try the same process with the same document Adobe Acrobat Pro DC program automatically recognize the first page and make it editable.

So my question is: is this problem that may occur because we are using Adobe Acrobat Standard? I tried to look at your site in order to know what are the features do not come with Adobe Acrobat Standard DC, but could not find information on OCRing records automatically.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Modification of the functionality of scanned documents is not available for Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Standard DC versions 11.x.

You have to upgrade to "Adobe Acrobat Pro DC" to use this feature.

    Kind regards
