• vCenter totally blocked by the firewall of windows server 2008.

  I installed vcenter server on windows server 2008 R2 and windows firewall blocks for her communication (port 80/443/389). I checked and there are clear rules in the firewall that allow traffic as vcenter put there during the installation. But the server does not allow traffic only.

  If your windows machine is a member server in your windows AD it have up to 3 profiles of different firewall (public, private, domain,). Do not forget that all the rules part of the 'area' or better 'public' profile If windows cannot reach a DC windows during startup it does not use the firewall profile 'area' and you cannot access the services of vcenter in this case.

• Portege R600 - cannot update the BIOS using Win server 2008

  Hi all.

  Pls help...

  I tried to update my bios to the new version, but I can't.

  I just downloaded bios update of the toshiba site for portage r600 for my model number (bios update 1.80 - winner), I unzip the zip, run the exe, but error popup came:

  Package for the TOSHIBA BIOS ver.3.2.9
  Unsupported product type is installed.
  Package BIOS BIOS Version: Ver.1.80
  Current BIOS version: Ver.1.40

  So my question is what am I doing wrong? I'm trying to update my bios from windows.

  is my version of windows: windows server 2008 Enterprise Edition x 64 SP1 (don't ask why, I just have to run Server 2008)

  Your OS windows seems not to be the Windows which was preinstalled on your Portege
  You cannot update the BIOS by using the windows server 2008 Enterprise Edition x 64

  You will need to put the system which has been pre-installed by Toshiba

• error of the MMC in windows server 2008 r2

  while closing after my windows server 2008 r2, many programs are open so I tried to close all the one by a sudden .at instead of using the X I used the close button. in mmc, I suppose that an error has occurred that caused problem blocking the program works correctly

  I hope that some of you are able to help me, because I'm stuck in a situation which is very frustrating.

  My server configuration is:

  Microsoft Windows 2008 64 bit server,

  Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2.

  Via this server that im supposed to to connect to several databases IBM Lotus Notes 8.5, which are placed on other servers.

  I would like to install the latest driver for Lotus Notes ODBC (8.5.1) and use it for links between Lotus Notes databases to SQL Server.

  When I run the Setup, I get a dialogbox with installation information. He says that this anomang installation was successful.

  My sequential current problem is, that I'm not able to see the driver anywhere. (througt datasources or c:\windows\syswow64\odbcad32).

  My version of the above is outdated now, and I want to remove it from my system. I am running a triple-boot of installation, including Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Ubuntu. I want to remove the server completely, including in the list of startup options. I don't know how to proceed.

  I use a 32-bit application on windows server 2008 R2, I Heve to connect to oracle DB on another server (win 2003 32-bit).
  I Heve created the "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe" ODBC driver but I've always found this error ' specific driver could not be loaded due to the error 1114 system: a dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed. " (Oracle in 32bit_Oracle_OraClient11g_home1, C:\app\Oracle\BIN\SQORA32. (DLL).
