My computer crashed and will not back to zero (I think it's because of a bad repair of Windows XP after a virus has passed my security). Before it crashed, I was easily 20 tabs open in Firefox, some of them being very important, but I don't remember what some of them were called or how I found them. I was wondering how Firefox knows what tabs/windows to open when you click on 'Restore Session', if it is stored in a file of all kinds, so that I could start on Linux, download the file and somehow use it once I have installed my new buy Win7. It is not a Firefox problem, but I didn't know where it is best to ask this question.

I started Firefox even if the internet has been disconnected. But before opening, Firefox updated automatically, not advising me that I was disconnected. It shows now that I have the newest version of Firefox. What should I do?
Operating system: Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2.He's going to have downloaded the update while you were connected and the next time you start Firefox, it will have installed upgrading if you were connected or not.

50 Firefox wants to install a "new support tool", what is it?
I downloaded Firefox 50 via the built in update. When I type restart to install the update, I get a window saying that Firefox wants to install a "new tool of assistance" and that I need to enter an admin password to complete the update. I can't find anything on this "support tool" in the notes version or via a google search. I was just wondering what is it? 10.11.16 running OSX. Thank you.

Yahoo! Mail goes down, Firefox 36 - what is the promlem?
I use Firefox as my preferred browser. I have been using 35 and recently upgraded Firefox to day to 36. Yahoo! Mail is my email provider. Every day, for weeks, when I boot first of all my computer, when I open Yahoo! Mail and connection, Yahoo! Mail freezes. For his release, I've pressed CTRL and ALT, and then press DELETE, more than once, to go to the screen where I can choose to enter in the Manager of tasks. Instead, when I click on CANCEL, Yahoo! Mail thaws. This only occurs when I start the computer and try to connect to Yahoo! Mail fees.
I have read suggestions Firefox and Yahoo! to eliminate what could be causing problem: empty the cache, delete cookies, disabling modules, temporarily disable the anti-virus software (I use AVG), etc... None of them have worked. I read the two Firefox Solver of problems and comments from problem solver Yahoo! saying the problem it's the other service. I see that others who use IE, Chrome and Safari have had similar problems with Yahoo! Mail.
I'm tired of this. What can be done to fix this? I've also posted my problem for Yahoo! Mail issues.
Problem with Firefox and Yahoo. Mail seems to be fixed. What I did:
After looking at other sites forums and help for what might solve my problem, I picked up on a suggestion: update the display driver graphic for my computer.
NOTE: before I did it all downloading something again, I created a System Restore Point, so that I could "undo" any update. If someone does not know how to save time and space, I will not write the steps. I recommend that you learn to do this 1.
I did this and downloaded a driver updated for my peripheral view graphics.
I will not go into the steps to do it here. I created a system restore point, 1. Then, I got the updated driver on the website of the supplier of the device driver of my computer, AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) graph display.
For all those who wish to update their graphic display device and who does not know how to go on this issue, I suggest you go to what I consider a reputable computer help forum web site, MajorGeeks.com. (See more info on MajorGeeks.com below).
After I downloaded and installed an updated for my peripheral graphics display driver, I've wound up my computer and turn it off. I rebooted to see if I had on it, is no longer the problem as I said above in my initial post. I still had the problem. Dang!
But then, I thought that perhaps the problem was with my setting of Cookies for Firefox. Before I had updated the graphic display device driver, one of the many attempts I made to solve the problem was that I changed my privacy settings of Firefox so that I always accepted Cookies from third party sites. Changing the setting to accept Cookies only from Sites you visited. Make that change does not appear to fix the problem, either, so I reset the Cookies affecting only accept Cookies from Sites visited.
With my graphics display device driver update, I have now returned to Options (click Tools) for Firefox and in the parameters of confidentiality, has chosen
Always to accept third party Cookies. Then, I liquidated and and restart my computer to see if the change of Cookies made the difference.
Now, I don't have the problem, just after my computer starts and after you have connected to the Internet, when I first opened up Firefox and go to Yahoo! Mail. The connection full of Y! M is not instantaneous, however. I counted about 20 seconds (1 and 2 and 3 and...) before the full Yahoo! Mail opens and he 'unlock'
Note: I have my Firefox to delete all cookies when I close Firefox. I suspect some of the slow initial start and connecting of Yahoo! Mail has to do with Cookies being deleted when I closed Firefox and shut down my computer.

I just downloaded Firefox 4 and I got a problem on my Norton spyware toolbar is not incompatible, but anyway, the most important thing that makes me choose Firefox on any other web browser is that I am able to save tabs and then exit. I think it was more great things because I could run my laptop off and save energy and when I got home I'm cold to take back what I what to do. My question is simply is you never have it save tabs and leave the new service or at least a way people would turn the function on will.
One of the changes in Firefox 4: by default Firefox 4 does not display the warning "Save tabs and exit" then to the closure of several tabs, but it can be turned on again by changing some preferences.
- Record of the tabs was not removed from Firefox 4, but it works a little differently.
- By default, Firefox 4 will not ask to save tabs, but instead it will always save your tabs on the output unless you're in private browsing mode. You can restore the next time by:
- by clicking on the Firefox button > history > "restore previous Session ', or
- type of Subject: House in the URL bar and press the Enter key, then press the button "restore previous Session."
- Note: This was a decision by the developers. On this forum, we are all volunteers without compensation here to help other users. Develop them and employees of Mozilla/Firefox rarely, if ever visit here.
Things to check:
- Browsing history must be saved
- Button Firefox: Firefox button > Options > Options > privacy > [X] Remember my browsing history
- Menu bar: Tools > Options > privacy > [X] Remember my browsing history
- Also, make sure that you do not erase "Browsing history" when you use clear recent history or when Firefox is closed
- Using clear recent history
- Button Firefox: Firefox button > history > clear recent history
- Menu bar: Tools > clear recent history
- When Firefox is closed
- Button Firefox: Firefox button > Options > Options > privacy (verified) > settings
- Menu bar: Tools > Options > privacy (verified) > settings
- See: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Clear%20Recent%20History
- Using clear recent history
- Make sure that you are not in private browsing mode or in private browsing mode permanent:
- If you have the Tab Mix Plusextension, and then clear the built-in session restore.
To display the message "save tabs and exit" when closing multiple tabs, you can do the following:
- Type of topic: config in the URL/address bar and press the Enter key
- Accept the warning message (promise to be careful)
- Open the preferences/list page
- Filter = browser.tabs.warnOnClose
- If its value is set to false, double-click top (in the lower panel) to toggle its value to true
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the 3 following preferences also:
- browser.warnOnQuit
- browser.warnOnRestart
- browser.showQuitWarning
- Note: last pref is new in Firefox 4 b 12, may need to add (boolean)

Flash Player 10 does not work in IE or Firefox. What it is in conflict with?
I use Firefox 3.6.8 (and sometimes IE 8.0.6001.18702IC) on Windows XP Pro SP 3.
For several weeks now, I was unable to hear sounds on what Flash-based, YouTube at MSN.com games or videos embedded on all sites using Flash. Initially, I had assumed it to be having QuickTime installed because I know that QT likes to divert all. I uninstalled QT (and Real Player) and Flash Player then reinstalled Flash Player (and Shockwave Player just in case) and guess what?
Well Yes. Nothing. When I uninstalled it, I used a program called Revo Uninstaller, which includes an option to registry cleaning. I then used Abexo and WinASO registry cleaners to make sure I got all the rest who even resembled QuickTime on my hard drive.
When I reinstalled Flash, the following programs appeared in C:\Windows\system 32\Macromed\Flash:
Flash 10i.ocx (10.1.82.76)
FlashUtil10i_ActiveX (10.1.82.76)
FlashUntil10i_Plugin (10.1.82.76)
genuinst (6.0.2800.1531)
FlashUtil10i_ActiveX.dll (10.1.82.76)
Npswf32.dll (10.1.82.76)
KB931433
FlashInstall
Install
Flashplayer.XPTWhen I check 'Tools' IE and search modules, it is said that Flash (Shockwave Flash) is enabled. I even activated the other modules in Adobe for Acrobat and others just to be sure. Firefox displays Shockwave Flash and Shockwave for Director both be enabled. The Panel control the Flash settings do not help: I have all of the defined sites to store about 100 KB on my computer to make sure you that there is enough room for everything, but still nothing.
Until someone asks, my audio drivers are up to date, thanks to the manufacturer Web site. I have DirectX 9 installed .0c and everything works fine. I can play audio and video elsewhere without any problems. It is only Flash that shows me this evil and there is no indication as to what else could interfere with the Flash.
Any ideas?
Here is the site I mentioned earlier: http://www.codecguide.com/fix_for_flash_sound_problems.htm
With the help of this list, almost all of the sound problems were fixed in the past.

Stop Firefox remembering what I type
Firefox remembers the data typed in pages where I'm looking. I don't want that he remembers nothing. ID's, I am looking for data, etc. How can I remove what has been recorded and stop future economy?
Firefox contains a ton of features for the protection of personal information to protect the data of our users. If you go to the Privacy page Options of Firefox tab, you can find the settings related to your history, research, etc..
If you select use the custom settings for history, you will have full control over what Firefox did with your story. You can uncheck all of the history that you don't want Firefox to remember (browsing history and form/search in your case). You will also have control over how long Firefox stores cookies and can even prevent Firefox to save cookies at all.
If you choose to erase history closing Firefox, you can tell Firefox to clear your history whenever you close the browser. If you click the button settings... corresponding to this option, you will have total control over what the Firefox history delete when you close Firefox.
If you want to remove your existing registered form AutoComplete results, simply click on the text field that display data from the form, hover over the entry you want to delete and press Delete on your keyboard. Alternatively, you can install the form history control addon on your browser for a wide range of parameters and control on the history of the form.

I'll do an upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7. I will be installing Windows 7 on a new empty hard drive. I want to keep my bookmarks Firefox and Ad Ons. What is the best way to do it. Thank you for your help.
Hello
The best thing for you to do is to make a backup of your Firefox profile. It is a folder that stores bookmarks and Add-ons that you can then add to the reinstalled Firefox on your new operating system.
Learn you more about the Firefox profile folder, how to backup and restore, here.
I hope this helps, but if not, please come back here and we can look at in another option for you.

IKNOW there are some redirect there, freaky virus but I tried the best of the best scans and no one saw anything. I was told to try ESET online, I think it was, they found so much, I got rid of the desktop black and got my themes all back, but when I go to Firefox, I get a generic page saying ffstartpage and this domain is for sale and various ad things and looking for the man. After the crazy ESET run, as more than 5 hours, he has tried to force himself on me like yahoo, then back in, http://www.findingresult.com/?dn=mozillafirefoxstartpage.com & PID = 9POL8D55D. Somewhere spoke of the place to get information about themselves on the address bar, so I clicked and a fridge of info came, so I blocked everything that he and FF settings and options in internet. Now that information placed on the address under 'media' bar he registered the address cur.cursors-4u.net/smileys/smi-3/smi242.cur. () no idea why, just one thing FYI). Under "cookies" for today and I wasn't much at all and they are blocked, and he showed no cookie, he says he left the cookies with me 28 times. When I do a search timeanddate, it is said he finds nothing, and it's a joke, so I keep hitting to try again until it makes me qrobes stuff. Today, I got a black page saying server could not be found, like who is mozilla firefox? Guys, Im dyin here! It took me days to get to this place of observation, Im like nobody else got this shit but me? Please help me out if you can, or direct me to a worm/virus/malware company I can work with. Having trouble finding where I can explain in detail like that. Thank you so much for your time in reading this. Hope you can help! Oh, Windows 7 64-bit office. I ran: Emisoft anti-malware Malwarebytes, ThreatExpertMemory Scanner, Hitman Pro, SuperAntispyware Free, Rising Antivirus, Malwarebytes Antirootkit, removal of Virus from Sophos, ADW, tool Rkill, Malwarebytes Anti-exploit and own TrendMicro BrowserGuard, these last 2 run all the time now. They have been run one after that the other and some double in a period of 3 days. Sometimes, I do not SLEEP.

I can't find my favorites icon in my toolbar. I'm on Yahoo and it converted fine, but missing my favorites and history options. I know he told me when I downloaded what he kept this information.
Favorites in Internet Explorer are called bookmarks in Firefox.
History and bookmarks are two tabs in your menu bar. If the menu bar is not visible, right-click on an empty space near your tabs of the browser and select menu bar from the drop-down list.
Please provide more information so we seem to be misunderstanding your question. Not sure why you referred to Yahoo for example.
