In Photshop CS5 RAW photo as a smart object.

I try to open a RAW Photohsop CS5 photo as a smart object.  I have the photo selected in Bridge.  When I go to run the file > run Bridge cs5, the menu entry indicates that there should be a menu that is displayed.  However, clicking on the spot does not bring a menu.

In Photoshop, there are open an empty file to receive the photo.

Why do I not receive a menu?

Reinstall Photoshop resolved the problem.  Apparently there was some disconnect between Bridge and Photoshop that prevented their interaction.

    Question:

I use Photoshop CS5 version 12.1.  Photos I take in Camera Raw with my Canon 60 d are visible and can be worked, but those taken with my Canon 70 d are not. What can I do to be able to view and work on Camera Raw photos taken with both cameras? • I have cs5. just bought the canon 7 d 2. I use gross and not can not open raw photo in cs5. How can I do this?

I have photoshop cs5. I recently purchased canon 7 d 2, I shot in raw. I was not able to open my raw photos in cs5. Why?

You are using an outdated version of Photoshop.

Therefore, this version of Photoshop uses an outdated version of ACR.

Camera makers create new Raw image formats for their new cameras since that has been released.

Adobe does not waste resources implementation for the first new formats in obsolete versions of ACR.

You can use the free DNG Converter to convert Raw files to DNG.

No..  In view of the considerable volume of posts during the last two weeks, I can see why you referenced the 2 7.

Randy, the D-70 was released after CS6 is released.  Adobe didn't not reverse retains compatibility with older versions of Photoshop - a way to upgrade.  Unfortunately you must use the link above or upgrade to CS6 DNG Converter.

  • CS5 is the opening of the raw files as smart object files im working

I just new branch CS 5 and find this big mistake. When I open the raw file in Camera Raw and I opened a jpg in CS5, it always open as a dynamic object to this small jpg I opened before. The same is my CS 5 when I drag a file on the desktop, it has always finished as long as a smart object to the file im is currently working with. Normally it should open a new file, not as a smart object in this file im working already with.

If you do not want to open images as smart objects when you drag them in Photoshop then go in Edition-> Preferences-> general and uncheck the box 'Place or drag Raster Images as smart objects'. As for Camera Raw, the button open so-called in the Camera Raw dialog box? Open a picture or an open object? You can switch between the two on the fly by pressing the SHIFT key, or you can change the preference among the workflow Options (click on the link button - like from the bottom of the Camera Raw dialog box)

  • How to find a RAW Photo folder

I shoot in RAW and JPEG and used to transfer both iPhoto and now Photo. As I learned more I realize it was stupid, then I want now to extract my RAW files and put them on a separate drive so that they are available to change 'serious' as needed and just use Photo for things, that it's good.

How to easily find all the RAW files so I can move, preferably in some sort of batch.

Are now all Photos RAW and JPEG pairs, or only a part of the photos?

To find all pictures with an original RAW file create a smart album with the rule 'Photo's GROSS

    File > new Smart Album:

Select all the photos in this album, then use the command "file > export > export unmodified files of origin" to write RAW files to an external drive.

This will export the RAW and JPEG files. Sort files in the Finder so that you can remove the JPEG files at a time.

  • I can't open the raw photos from the camera. I tried to update.

I recently tried to open the photos I shot in camera raw on my photoshop CS5.  None would be open.  I went to help - updates on my photoshop and tried several times to update my photoshop to allow the camera raw photos open.  Whenever I tried to update, I got the message that there is a mistake, quit and try again. I've done several times and it still doesn't work. I have a Dell pc and I draw pictures on a Nikon D7000.  Please can someone tell me what to do?

You need Camera Raw 6.3 (or later version) installed for this camera.

You can check the version you are using via Help > About Plug-Ins > Camera Raw.

CS5 comes with Camera Raw 6.0 and can be updated from Camera Raw 6.7. The mechanism of updating in Photoshop can be sometimes flaky.

Try manually download and install the camera Raw 6.7. Installation instructions are given at the bottom of the page.

  • New imac5K i7 preview raw photos super slow app? Lightroom5 super slow? very disappointed

I called Apple support about the Preview app problem that it has not been able to help me... I use a 2 month old computer... (I have photo editing) and this computer turn into nightmare... Why my iMac 2011 run like a Ferrari?

When I open a single RAW photo with a preview application (canon 5dmarkII 21mp) takes wild for the photo to take a shape .but I could treat this...

the problem starts when I put (same problem 10) or photos (issue 30same) takes about 4 seconds for the photo to take a shape and when I click to the next photo

I'm a beach ball, then my fan started going a hundred miles an hour... and then becomes unusable... I use Lightroom5 (update of course) and it is another nightmare I don't get the possibility to use different programs on this computer, so I can't say anything else.

certainly I'm losing trust in the product of Apple and the sad, it's you who hear people more often... .my point is I spent $2 600 on this computer and that computer performance is a bit better than my laptop $ 250

5 Lightroom is not compatible to El Capitan. It is more than three years.

  • Cannot open RAW photos using Microsoft Camera Codec Pack on Windows 8.

Original title: Remove the codec of the victory camera 8

Downloaded codec does not allow me to open raw photos in windows Explorer, and now I can't open them in Photo Paint.

    Hi Chris,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and we are happy to help you on this question.

Depending on the issue, you downloaded a Microsoft Camera Codec Pack for Windows 8 on the computer which creates problems to open raw photos in Windows Explorer and in Windows Paint.

I wish to gather information to solve this problem in a better way:

    (1) do get you any error message when you try to open the photos using Microsoft Camera Codec pack in Windows Explorer as well as in Paint of Windows on the computer?
    (2) what size device that you use to display pictures using the Camera Codec Pack?
    (3) the Microsoft Camera Codec Pack does support the format of the device that you use to view RAW photos?

I suggest you to check if the format of the device you are using is supported by Microsoft Camera Codec Pack.

    You can check the link:

If the format of the device you are using is supported by Microsoft Camera Codec Pack, you can check the manufacturer's Web site and download the latest version of the software for this particular device. That might solve the problem.

Please answer us with the necessary information if the problem persists.
