In "Services.exe" CPU usage increases to 100 percent XP. Attempt to disable Load System Services through the system without result Configuration utility, because cpu cannot handle this function before of 'Services' system of pigs. Is there a way to access msconfig. through BACK? Have tried all modes safe mode, same problem.

I would exercise caution in handling things in the System Configuration utility.  If you disable the thing (s) evil, you could make your problem worse.

I suggest provide you a little more information on your system, run some scans for malware, then fix what's left more that needs fixing.

If you see services.exe equips in the Task Manager, suspect malware first, work to eliminate this possibility (with the scans below), then if you still have a problem, we can fix.

It makes no sense to try to solve problems on a system that could have malicious software on it.

You can also try to run system restore if you want, but I don't really know, it counts as 'fixing' of the problem.

Maybe someday the dialog box 'ask a question' forums XP will ask these questions automatically when a new thread is started so I don't have to ask every time.  It might even be possible to solve a problem in a single response when enough information is provided.

Please provide additional information on your system:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

No matter what you use for malware protection, perform the following analyses for malware.
then fix any problems:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these malware free
detection programs:

Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

The scans by operating clean, then to solve any problems.

  • ENVY 15: HP Support Solutions Framework Service - high CPU usage

    ENVY 15, 10 Windows version 1607

CPU cycles was about 50% this morning and discovered that the HP Support Solutions Framework service was 40 + % permanently.   No problems so far with high utility usage.  Problem started not with the update of the birthday that was filled with 4 days and there are several reboots.

At a chat session with HP support, but they couldn't help.

I stopped running - task seems to restart every time I run the HP support assistant and continues with + 40% of CPU usage.

Any suggestions please?   Y at - it an update utility that I have to download?

Uninstall HP Support Assistant HP Support Framework in Control Panel > programs and features

  • My CPU usage is at 100%, but the task manager says that nothing is more than using 01%

Last night, I installed the updates for Windows 7 during the stop, as I normally do. He said there are four updates, and one went by pretty quickly. It seemed to get stuck on the second (even though he probably didn't want to - the blue ORB turned and the dots are moving, so I guess it's to large or slow) for a few minutes, three update took slightly less time and at the time he obtained for the release of four, I was paying attention just because I was so tired.

In any case, I went to start my laptop (Toshiba Satellite) and on black splash screen "starting windows" with the flag/banner, he said that he needed install/configure 360 some odd updates. I had seen this before, although I do not remember how recently, so I thought nothing of it. I still don't know if it meant something significant.

Now the problem is that my CPU usage is constantly at 100%, yet when I finally managed to open the Task Manager, NONE of the listed processes use anything more than 1%, and those who fluctuate. I can easily boot into safe mode, and from there, I have disabled the start of the process, such as taskbar support and itunes things google related, but I still boot normally to 100%.

Any ideas? It would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm going to College next year and I really don't want to worry about finding how to get a new machine.

    Thank you!

    Hi Renae92,

    1. You have security software installed on the computer?
    2. High CPU usage occurs after the boot process?

    Method 1

As the problem does not persist in safe mode, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, then I suggest you run the troubleshooter of performance and check if it helps.

    Open the troubleshooter of Performance

  • The CPU usage goes to 100%

I have a laptop Dell Studio 2010, the processor Intel, 4 GB of ram, hard disk 320 GM (180 GB consumed) running Windows 7 and IE 11 giving me CPU usage problems.  I don't know what everything is related, so here's the story.

I lived my download speed slow - dropped by half every 2 hours or more after a reboot.  Occasional problems with the speed of the computer as well, and when I checked the resource monitor I see the CPU usage hit 100%.  A reboot has always solved the problem.  Running in Mode safe mode eliminates the loss of download speed so I knew it wasn't a problem with the hardware or my cable modem or a wireless router.  I have explored many possible problems, but none solves the problem, then I reinstalled Win 7 Friday, January 16.  Download speed, not only fixed but faster than before.  It remains stable and do not disintegrate so there was something wrong with the OS, etc.

However, the problem of the use of the CPU remains.  What seems to happen is that something triggers a high demand and then all processes on the computer joins.   When I look at the resource now monitor consumes 1.3% of CPU, but when things are choking it consumes 15% of CPU and go all processes running as 0.5% to 5%.  So you can't point to a single process as the culprit it is possible that web sites of strong demand (lots of ads) trigger the problem.  I'll do some research on that.

I did a lot of web research as well as this forum, and no patches seem to work or apply to me.  I ran a Malwarebytes scan and a full virus scan with Microsoft Security Essentials: nothing found.

The computer is almost 4 years, but I wouldn't spend the $$ to replace and find that the problem is software.  Any ideas?

The problem solved when I've upgraded to Win10 on this machine.  At the same time degradation download speed (with time) newsletter is resolved.  I can't imagine how everything worked but I discussed the idea with several IT people I know and have gotten various suggestions.

Since a clean installation of the operating system has not fixed it, I do not understand why install Win10 fixed, but that's it.

Since then, I've replaced this computer.

    computer runs very slowly

Some reasons for the slow pace of the computer:

    1. computer has not been maintained - http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Maintenance

    2. the computer is infected with the malware - http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

    3. the disk is too full. Remove useless stuff, uninstall unused programs. Do not forget to save!
    http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Backing_Up

    4. flaky third party software. Toolbars and modules are particularly guilty in this area. Uninstall toolbars (Google, Yahoo, ISP brand, etc) and look at what modules are in use in your browser (s).

    5. computer has too many unnecessary programs/processes running in the background. Manage your Startup:

For XP - How to troubleshoot using the Msconfig in Windows XP utility - http://support.microsoft.com/?id=310560
The free Autoruns program is very useful for managing your Startup - http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/default.mspx

For Vista/Windows7 - Start Orb > Search box > type: msconfig and when it appears in the results area above, right-click and choose 'run as administrator '. Autoruns is also very useful.

    6. the user runs an inflated/invasive such as Norton and McAfee antivirus program. Replace it with a better program. I recommend NOD32 (commercial) or Avast (free). Avira is also good, but the free version has an unpleasant reminder screen (Google for instructions on how to disable it). The user can also run several real-time antivirus/firewall/security programs.

    7. the user has installed new programs that are processor and/or memory-intensive (Photoshop, AutoCAD, Mathmatica or similar) and does not have the power of the equipment.

8 drive fails and is in PIO Mode (IDE only - not applicable for disks SATA drives). It's very much slow (like being in 1985). See Hans-Georg Michna here information -http://winhlp.com/?q=node/10

If the hotfix registry PIO only 'glue' (or you have a SATA drive), the drive is probably faulty and needs to be tested.

I use this Dell original XPS systems is Windows XP MCE 2002 for 5 years now. The machine is fully patched and all drivers are up to date.

A symptom is that it will start a program at 7:00 pm registration and registration of the status bar icon always displays this name of program even if by 21:00, it should have recorded 3 other programs and began a 4 t at 21:00. When it does this the minute 30 original program will be more than 2 hours of broadcast recorded on the original channel tuner would not turn stations by the configuration of the scheduled recording.

ehrec.exe go out randomly to a State where it uses all the CPU resources available without using more memory or to all disk reads or writes. This will normally make ehshell.exe become desensitized and seem to be hung up in taskman. I tried the solutions suggested on other forums (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\eHome\EPG purge and empty the E:\Recorded TV\TempRec directory), they have not helped and basically just made me have to reconfigure the program guide. I record only out of local air HD broadcasting stations.

I tried to apply again the Rollup2 patch that was published several years with the hope that run a subsequent manual WindowsUpdate would repatch all but which did not help. The machine has currently a Hauppauge WinTV 418 BDA Tuner (single channel HD) tuner card is installed. The machine came with an Angel TvTuner (dual channel analog) tuner card. I use the HD map for more than a year.

I really don't want to move this machine to Win7, what other options can I try to do to return MediaCenter work properly again?

I tried all the suggestions above and nothing seemed to clear up the same problem for me. What operating system do you use? It is the original installation Toshiba or did you build this platform of operating system by yourself?
On some models of 1800 there is no XP driver for the videochip. In case you have one of these models and you are using Windows XP, it is possible that the performance is bad when you play everything.

  • CPU at 100% use, services.exe using 50 to 70% +.

I've upgraded from Vista to Win 7 on day of release and had no problems until recently. In recent days, my CPU usage will boost 100% at irregular intervals and stay there for a long period of time. When I check the Task Manager and view the processes from all users, services.exe is fluctuating, anywhere from the low 50 to 70% in low use. When the computer works normally, services.exe is close to the high single digit. I uninstalled and programs that I installed immediately before the occurrence of the problem (and it happens again as I type this) and I ran full virus/malware using Microsoft Security Essentials scans and the scanner online ESET. Both are some adware stuff and not withdrawn, but no virus or malware problems. This happened for several days and made my computer almost unusable, and I'm in a fix what to do or where to look next. I hate for resettlement because the original installation was so recent, if all the tips I can try to avoid again would be great. Thank you!

  • CPU usage always 100% after installing Vista SP2

    Hello

I am currently running A Dell Dimension B110 with 1 GB RAM 256 mb nvidia geforce 6200 (pci), 2.6 ghz celron D and Windows Vista Home Basic SP1.  It works nice and fast.

That is until I have install SP2.  Then the CPU usage is always 100% when running anything (with the exception of the Windows Explorer), and the pc is running very slowly.  To solve the problem, I went back down to SP1 and everything goes quickly again.

A few weeks later, I tried again and the same result.  So I returned again back to SP1.

For future software versions, I need SP2.  Does anyone have advice and/or corrections to this problem?

  • My CPU usuage is going 100%

OK, I recently problems with m.

Before my PC used to run smooth, I used to run more than 3-4 programs at the same time. But recently my PC is really slow. Whenever I m using Skype (voice chat) my CPU usage is at 100%, I used to play online and talk on Skype together now is not possible at all. Also, as when I use internet and listen to music my CPU usage is about 70%, which is high! Same thing happens when I watch videos HD, the videos of lag. This happens on youtube, as I can only watch videos of 240 p smoothly. Others do not work smoothly. Usually, when I m not running too many programs my PC is smooth. Also games, games, I used to play before went smoothly today then do not work much more.

I did my utmost to correct this cleaned up my hard drive, remove all unwanted programs, even cleaned up the dust inside my CPU. And no I do not use anti-virus programs but I hvnt noticed any viruses, just to b problem I installed an and analysed as well but he did not find any virus and yes the anti-virus is up to date, it was the AVG anti-virus don't know how good it is. Also on the internet, I found abt this contraption "msconfig" and a little confused when I run tht so did nothing yet.

Well, I hope that I have explained the problem well, usually when I do not have anything in the CPU usage is fine as now since I m typing use atm CPU is normal. Hope someone can help me find a solution. :)

It is prudent to perform at least an analysis of filling with something like Malwarebytes and Superantispyware to make an effort to remove common malware and only when they perform own start to look for other things.

Assuming you have done this, we learn more about your system (since we don't know anything about).

As you describe the problem is visible when you CPU and video intensive things such as watching videos, games online, Skype, we will need to know your video subsystem too.

Since you seem to be able to recreate the problem, if you make an adjustment and your test condition begins to behave, you will know that you are looking in the right places.

First of all, you have work to do...

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

What is your Internet browser and version?

Your system's disks IDE or SATA drives?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

Now provide some gory details more:

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Msinfo32

Click OK, and when the system info summary appears, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here.

For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

This will minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork.

If you have IDE disks, they can back a sort of DMA mode to PIO mode slow, so you must check that too.  Here's how:

If you are using IDE drives, use Device Manager to make sure the transfer mode for the IDE channels to something as DMA if available (depends on your hardware) and the slow PIO mode.

Don't forget: PIO is slower transfer mode, DMA is the fastest transfer mode.

It is easy to check and usually easy to fix and the mode would not have changed in itself, so if she changed to PIO, change it to DMA, and then understand why it changed and fix it.

To launch the Device Manager console, click Start, run and enter in the box:

    devmgmt.msc

    Click OK.

Expand the section controller IDE / ATA to see your IDE channels. Right-click on each channel and select properties for each channel that has a tab advanced settings, determine the Transfer Mode. There are usually 4 channels to check in a desktop computer, maybe less for laptops.

The faster the Transfer Mode selection will be a kind of selection DMA (usually: DMA DMA5, UDMA, etc.).  If it is PIO, change it to DMA.  Be sure to click on OK to save the settings.

If you are unsure of what you see, after return what you see for help and advice.

If you make adjustments, reboot and go back and check the settings again to make sure that any changes you did stick.

Finally, instead of guess what you might have to startup items and what you might be able to do without, it's easy for you to simply provide a list of your startup items and then get a few recommendations of things that you can do without that, to do this:

    Download CCleaner here:
    http://www.Piriform.com/CCleaner

CCleaner allows you to manage most of the startup items and also do some other operations oriented cleaning.  Some people will you recommend is not to use the registry functions in CCleaner to avoid these features for now.  I have no problem with it for me, but sometimes it's a contentious issue, I prefer to avoid as much as possible!

You can uninstall CCleaner later if you don't like it.

With CCleaner, you can disable the startup items, reboot to see what things look like and if you want - completely remove unnecessary or just startup items leave the disabled while you continue troubleshooting.

Run CCleaner and choose Tools, boot and bottom right, click on the button "Save to text file" to save the startup information in a text - something like startup.txt file

Save the boot information text file on your desktop (or somewhere you can find it) open the text file with an editor (Notepad or WordPad), select all (Ctrl-A), copy text, all the text selected in the Windows Clipboard (Ctrl-C) and then paste (Ctrl + V) the contents of the startup list to come back here in your next reply and maybe someone can tell you other things to consider.

Finally and most importantly, you must be sure that your provider of Internet Service (ISP) provides the Internet download speed you pay for what you can test it by visiting this site:

    www.Speedtest.NET

Wait that it load and click on begin Test.

When it finishes, you will know that your download speed and your download speed so tell us what they are:

    Download speed: _
    Download speed: _

If you pay 10 Mbps and you get only 2, while you pay more than you are getting (you are getting ripped off), so you scream at your ISP and request that they help you fix it if you get what you pay for.
