The CPU usage goes to 100% frequently for all the computers on the network.

Hi, I'm an engineer, for the past two weeks, my users are complaining about slow and found the CPU usage goes to 100% frequently, as we have laptop Dell Latitude with i7, 4 GB memory, Win7 64 bit OS. but this problem is din't solve even after fresh OS installation.

Check your remote destop setting. When something like that happens, its been my experience that someone or something keep 'rattling' computers trying to connect to them i.e. virus/trojan or something that someone installed which is now trying to hit everything on the network.

  • The CPU usage goes to 100%

I have a laptop Dell Studio 2010, the processor Intel, 4 GB of ram, hard disk 320 GM (180 GB consumed) running Windows 7 and IE 11 giving me CPU usage problems.  I don't know what everything is related, so here's the story.

I lived my download speed slow - dropped by half every 2 hours or more after a reboot.  Occasional problems with the speed of the computer as well, and when I checked the resource monitor I see the CPU usage hit 100%.  A reboot has always solved the problem.  Running in Mode safe mode eliminates the loss of download speed so I knew it wasn't a problem with the hardware or my cable modem or a wireless router.  I have explored many possible problems, but none solves the problem, then I reinstalled Win 7 Friday, January 16.  Download speed, not only fixed but faster than before.  It remains stable and do not disintegrate so there was something wrong with the OS, etc.

However, the problem of the use of the CPU remains.  What seems to happen is that something triggers a high demand and then all processes on the computer joins.   When I look at the resource now monitor consumes 1.3% of CPU, but when things are choking it consumes 15% of CPU and go all processes running as 0.5% to 5%.  So you can't point to a single process as the culprit it is possible that web sites of strong demand (lots of ads) trigger the problem.  I'll do some research on that.

I did a lot of web research as well as this forum, and no patches seem to work or apply to me.  I ran a Malwarebytes scan and a full virus scan with Microsoft Security Essentials: nothing found.

The computer is almost 4 years, but I wouldn't spend the $$ to replace and find that the problem is software.  Any ideas?

The problem solved when I've upgraded to Win10 on this machine.  At the same time degradation download speed (with time) newsletter is resolved.  I can't imagine how everything worked but I discussed the idea with several IT people I know and have gotten various suggestions.

Since a clean installation of the operating system has not fixed it, I do not understand why install Win10 fixed, but that's it.

Since then, I've replaced this computer.

  • The CPU usage goes up to 50-60% right when I start the computer.

    Original title: high CPU usage

I have a pc with windows 7 64-bit, 4 GB ram, AMD Phenom II x 2 511 processor and a Nvidia Geforce Gtx 260. The CPU usage goes up to 50-60% right when I start the computer. I ran the Task Manager and there is no program using the cpu. It has nothing to do with anny viruses because I scanned the computer with two different programs. We do not have Steam and the EA download manager. What could be the problem?

"Idle" means "doing nothing."  Windows runs the "System Idle" process when the processor has no useful to perform tasks.

Look at the status bar at the bottom of the Task Manager and you will see that the CPU usage does NOT include the percentage for the System Idle process.

What are the processes other than Idle System added up to 50-60%?

I suggest that you run an online scan using antivirus ESET online--> http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/

and then download, install, update and run the free MalwareBytes AntiMalware--> https://www.malwarebytes.org/ version

I expect that the MalwareBytes Installer is clean enough, but you should pay attention when installing any software to make sure that you accept all of the pre-selected options to install other bundled applications.

Attempt to disable Load System Services through the system without result Configuration utility, because cpu cannot handle this function before of 'Services' system of pigs. Is there a way to access msconfig. through BACK? Have tried all modes safe mode, same problem.

I would exercise caution in handling things in the System Configuration utility.  If you disable the thing (s) evil, you could make your problem worse.

I suggest provide you a little more information on your system, run some scans for malware, then fix what's left more that needs fixing.

If you see services.exe equips in the Task Manager, suspect malware first, work to eliminate this possibility (with the scans below), then if you still have a problem, we can fix.

It makes no sense to try to solve problems on a system that could have malicious software on it.

You can also try to run system restore if you want, but I don't really know, it counts as 'fixing' of the problem.

Maybe someday the dialog box 'ask a question' forums XP will ask these questions automatically when a new thread is started so I don't have to ask every time.  It might even be possible to solve a problem in a single response when enough information is provided.

Please provide additional information on your system:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

  • Drive usage goes to 100% on Windows 8

    I have 64-bit Windows 8 Enterprise.

Whenever I have install or uninstall a program disk usage goes to 100% and I can't do anything else, although it is at 100%

Usually, it's Microsoft Windows Search Indexer or the Antimalware Service executable Microsoft are at the top of the list.

It's very frustrating, because it lasts anywhere form two or three minutes at a maximum of 15 minutes and I can't do much at that time.  If I kill the Microsoft Windows Search indexing system goes back to be reactive.

Can I do to solve this problem, except to exclude Program Files of the course of indexing?

    Thank you

  • My CPU usage climbs to 100% & an application called iexplore.exe uses 99% of CPU time.

    Original title: iexplore.exe

When I activate "Task Manager", my CPU usage climbs to 100% & an application called iexplore.exe uses 99% of CPU time. This slows down my computer. I can turn it off without causing other problems?

After restarting in safe mode and then restart in normal mode, all is back to normal. Thank you!

  • My CPU usage is at 100%, but the task manager says that nothing is more than using 01%

Last night, I installed the updates for Windows 7 during the stop, as I normally do. He said there are four updates, and one went by pretty quickly. It seemed to get stuck on the second (even though he probably didn't want to - the blue ORB turned and the dots are moving, so I guess it's to large or slow) for a few minutes, three update took slightly less time and at the time he obtained for the release of four, I was paying attention just because I was so tired.

In any case, I went to start my laptop (Toshiba Satellite) and on black splash screen "starting windows" with the flag/banner, he said that he needed install/configure 360 some odd updates. I had seen this before, although I do not remember how recently, so I thought nothing of it. I still don't know if it meant something significant.

Now the problem is that my CPU usage is constantly at 100%, yet when I finally managed to open the Task Manager, NONE of the listed processes use anything more than 1%, and those who fluctuate. I can easily boot into safe mode, and from there, I have disabled the start of the process, such as taskbar support and itunes things google related, but I still boot normally to 100%.

Any ideas? It would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm going to College next year and I really don't want to worry about finding how to get a new machine.

    Thank you!

    Hi Renae92,

    1. You have security software installed on the computer?
    2. High CPU usage occurs after the boot process?

    Method 1

As the problem does not persist in safe mode, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

  • Change the default settings for all Mac on a wireless network, Officejet 6500n, Lion 10.7.4

    Hello

In my view, there are a lot of discussions on change the print settings by default for printers hp in Leo, but my question is a little different. I have a network running on a wireless Netgear N600 router, and my HP Officejet 6500 is directly connected via USB. I want to set up the printer so that anyone who connects to the network via a mac wireless has the default value depending on parameters in any printing application:

    1. Quality: Fastdraft
    2. Color: gray
    3. Black cartridge only
    4. Print on both sides: long edge binding

When I go to the page of the printer by entering the IP address in my browser, the administration utilities do not allow me to change the default settings and change the default settings in CUPS is useless since applications such as Safari, Word, and preview override these settings.

Is that what I want possible?

    Thanks in advance.

    We gladly invite you.

Indeed, that is right. When printing from a computer, the print settings can only be configured on the computer.

The unit only will allow us to change this type of parameters for the work only stend, carried out from the device (e.g. copy or printing of the device using a memory card).

Some business models can provide options to force parameters, print, but I'm afraid these capacities are not intended for consumer products.

    Kind regards

  • CPU usage always 100% after installing Vista SP2

    Hello

I am currently running A Dell Dimension B110 with 1 GB RAM 256 mb nvidia geforce 6200 (pci), 2.6 ghz celron D and Windows Vista Home Basic SP1.  It works nice and fast.

That is until I have install SP2.  Then the CPU usage is always 100% when running anything (with the exception of the Windows Explorer), and the pc is running very slowly.  To solve the problem, I went back down to SP1 and everything goes quickly again.

A few weeks later, I tried again and the same result.  So I returned again back to SP1.

  • How to find reported by QueryPerf such cpu usage meter.

    Hello world

I am writing a script which collects data of performance, in particular cpu usage percentage, of various hosts and virtual.

I retrieve the data using QueryPerf, in the same way that the viperformance.pl script made.

Recently, I noticed that the values for the cpu usage percentage are too big for a percentage IE. greater than 100.

At first, I thought that I have a bug in my script but then I noticed that the viperformance.pl script returns the same values.

I run the script viperformace.pl like this:

    ./viperformance.pl--serveur xxx.xx.xx.x:xxx - username xxxxxx - password "xxxxxxxxxx" - host xxxx.xxxxx.xxxxxx.xx - countertype cpu - 1 samples

    Performance data: xxxx.xxxxx.xxxxxx.xx

    Counter: CPU utilization (average)

    Instance:

Description: During the interval collected percentage CPU usage

    Units: %

    Example of information: 20, 2009-05 - 22 T 08: 27:20Z

    Value: 538

Counter: Use of the processor in MHz (average)

    Instance:

    Units: MHz

    Example of information: 20, 2009-05 - 22 T 08: 27:20Z

    Value: 1004

Can someone explain what is the value of average 538? What I have to deal with the result of getting a real percentage?

    Thank you very much

    Jan

    Hi Jan,

The value of the cpu usage meter can be between 0 and 10000. This value is 1/100th of one to one hundred, so 1 = 0.01%.

So, in your case the CPU usage is actually 5,38-10.04% respectively.

Please refer to the documentation counter for more details.
