• HP Officejet 6000 Print gray instead of black

  Hello

  My HP Officejet 6000 works well for about a year until today, where he began to print light gray instead of black.

  My officejet is attached via USB directly to my PC, I'm under Ubuntu 12.04 with gnome shell. Used to work out of the area to print. I just install HPLIP Toolbox to see if I can fix anything, but that was no help. I exchanged the inktank black for a new, but that did not help either one. The gray looks perfect gray and not a faded defective, black dryness. I tried to change the output of color mode in the settings of the printer to the only black than gray, and the printer does not print the necessary ink at all. Is this a software problem? Or printer hardware problem? I tried printing from my laptop and had the same problem.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  Problem solved. I got my printer to my friend who has a Windows PC and a test print looked fine. I thought it must be a Linux question then. I have connected my printer to my PC Ubuntu again, and for the hell of it, I tried to print a test page and go figure, it worked. Maybe unplug the printer helped solve the problem? BTW, when I meet my problem, the printer was not actually printing gray instead of black by mixing the inktanks color. I discovered that she did not use the black tank at all. I'm glad that everything works again without having to really fix anything. So if anyone else has this problem, try disconnecting the printer, and then try again. That could be the solution. Turn off the PC one on or the printer doesn't help.

• Layers that appears gray instead of blue!

  A few times in the past and still today, I selected a layer in the layers panel, only to see gray instead of the usual blue. I probably inadvertently hit a few keys that I shouldn't! When this happens, it aafects how you can change the layers. The only one of the 'fixing', I found it is to close the file without saving and reopening. Does anyone know what causes this?

  Make sure you are not in the Quick Mask Mode or look in the Panel layers and see if one of these channels is selected (highlighted).

  Make sure that the image is not in gray mode.

  If it is to change it to RGB mode.

  Image-> Mode-> RGB

• A selection of Alpha channel with the color of foreground fill layer

  This question is more theoretical, because I found a work around. On a layer, I have a gray color, that I sample, and it becomes the desired foreground color.

  I would like to fill a selection in an Alpha channel with this gray color.

  However, when I view the Alpha channel, my forground color is lost for black and white, I understand, because the Alpha channel is a grayscale image.

  But I'm able to taste a shade of gray to a foreground color, but how can I keep my chosen original Gray selected from a layer? The only way I know would be to make a new shade and then use it when I'm in the channels.

  Don't know what you're saying. Sampling the RGB would eventually produce the colors 'Sales', aynway. This apart, of course sampling one color produces 3 values for all 3 components that define the color that can be applied directly onto a single channel a sense or the other. If you must have an 'academic' way to fix, you need to associate mathematics channel as for example combining the Red layer with Alpha using calculations of the image or creating a separate channel which holds the light / gray value. However, if your swatch method works for you, I see no reason to geek. Sometimes simple, hacky techniques are most effective...

• Fill the layer with the color

  pse13 I am filling the layer.  The layer has a small rectangle on it and nothing else.  When I fill the layer, it fills the whole canvas, not only the rectangle!  It's used to work!

  1. Go to file > new > empty file. Type w, h and the resolution, & background color. It's the Web.
  2. Set up the fixed size Rectangle tool, enter w & h dimensions of the rectangle
  3. Use the paint bucket tool to fill the rectangle with the color of choice as determined by the foreground color chip.

  I'm kinda a noob and following a tutorial... and found something strange and I wonder if you could help me understand what is happening.

  I have Photoshop CS6 extended on a macbook pro (late 2011).

  I am running OSX v 10.7.5

  I'm the long and the instructor has added a new layer. I did it.

  He then filled the white layer which is its background color (it has foreground black, white background). I have same evidence / background colors.

  Now I thought on mac to fill with the foreground color, you hit Apple + Delete and to fill it with the background, press Option + delete

  It's the exact OPPOSITE for me. I hit Apple + DELETE (or even BACKSPACE) and filled it with my background color, which is white

  If I hit Option + DELETE (or RET.), filled it with my foreground color.

  I tried searching in the area of keyboard shortcuts change... but I do not see these settings anywhere.

  I have an external keyboard plugged into my mac. It is a 3rd party one, but seems otherwise never function normally.

  I know that I can draw a rectangle the size of the layer and then fill the rectangle, but can I just set the color of a layer "background"?

  If you want this color "background" to print or export, you need to draw the rectangle.

  If you don't want to print or export, you can use the option simulate a colored paper in the transparency in all documents options upward. Set just two boxes of opacity of the same color grid.

  # 2... I assume that the author wants to draw the rectangle rounded path... mode I assume correct? I think it is supposed to be on the path b/c it's the only way the blending Mode reads "Pass Through".

  This tuts steps are not numbered really well, but also under second stage where the "BG" is filled with black, the resulting shape is supposed to look like this:

  Notice how the left has a lighter grey color and one of the tut above is clear? Can someone tell me why this would be?

  Here are the layers panel of the tut that is confusing for me b/c the only difference I see is that the Panel tuts has the arrow down and the record of the top layer / Layer "Body" seems to be grayed out... and the UTU said something like: activate the layer "BG" and cancel the mask view.   Yes, there are way to apply the layer mask. Go to the layer/mask/reveal selection menu - which will make the same button. Selection of skin will be 'inverse' only selection and mask making.

  On this selection, probably when you make the path you have opportunity to correct path (for this task). I think that you should have something like this (select the path while now CTRL + left mouse, selection from the corner of a single document through to the other, so sucseed then every path must became black and visible and the option of path of change now to what you see in the picture)

  

  If you make the choice of such path then it should be okay.

  On why Vector mask/mask option for button switches power, maybe you have already a layer mask in this case if you have traced 'activate', you will have the option of vector mask on. If this is so, then remove first layer mask by dragging that mask in the layers panel to the trash icon and press 'delete' (not ' Applay").

  as far as I know, you will still need to convert hex rgb for extendScript.

  where layer (1) is your solid and [1,1,1] matches a value RGB (0-1 range) you want-

  When you work on an image editing in Photoshop CC 2015, the layer in the layers panel highlighted is a gray color.  In tutorials, it appears as blue.  How can I change the color in my layers panel so the highlight layer is blue, not gray?

  I don't think there is an option to set the highlight color for the selected layer - the shift from blue to gray was introduced between 2014 Ps and Ps 2015, tutorials where you see the highlighted in blue are probably just be using an older version of Photoshop.

  I've updated to animate and onion skin frames are color coded. Anyone know how to disable this option? I can't find an option to do so, and unfortunately it fills completely the previous and future frames with a solid color that darkens the Interior details of the images really, really bad. I understand how this could be useful to animate solid forms such as stick figures, but it killed my workflow.

  When you use the random fill Photoshop CS6 script, you can use varies depending on the models and colors.

  To randomize the photo, you generate the image when you use random fill.

  I've used the script to randomize patterns and colors, if you use random fill.

  I want to know is can you add a layer option in the Random fill script, which allows you to manipulate the model and color of the layers that would be generated.

  But in saying that, you would be talking about perhaps hundreds of layers at least.

  N ° when you run the script to random fill, you can only have one setting at a time, one model at a time and one layer at a time. I created a user interface for the script when CS6 is released which allows to break down the filling in different layers, so that you can change the template, but my script does not change the settings.   Three things I can think of:

  Your document must be in RGB mode.

  Layer blending mode should be set to Normal

  Masks are grayscale. If you select the mask, you cannot apply a color.

  Always check your tab at the top to see if what you choose is RGB or grayscale.

• Colors in my PS file turned gray when I accidentally hit bad quick keys (control-a-4)... How to get back the colors?

  I did it accidentally several times.  For the screenshots, I use the command-shift-4 (on a Mac).  Sometimes I hit accidentally order-a-4 and it turns out all the colors gray.  And it's not reverse out when I repeat the operation.  Even though it looks in grayscale, it isn't in grayscale, when I check the mode.   Arrrggghh.  The only way I've seen before is just to quit smoking and I hope I did the last record, still has the colors in.  Unfortunately, I don't want to lose all changes now.

  Sounds like your pressing the shortcut for selection of a channel.

  Based on the mode of color, but in color RGB, command-4 mode would be the Green layer.

  It should say green on the title bar of window or tab.

  Next time that happens, you can watch the Panel layers (window > channels), then click on RGB to show RGB or composite of some color mode your in.

  Keyboard short is listed to the right of the thumbnails in the Panel layers.

  Or you can use the shortcut command-2 to return to the composite RGB.
