In Windows 7, it is possible to rename several files at once?

Hello

I have a laptop windows 7, and I want to know if it is possible to replace the words in a file for files name mutilates.

For example, I have a file list, saying: name.location - number, [the event] (tower.sydney - 01 [e934hcj8] [frhfn78] .jpg and I want to change all file names for the name - number (tour - 01.jpg).)

Is it possible and how is it low?

Thank you

I recommend this app:

  • Is it possible to define several files at once?

    Hi all

I'm new to this platform, so forgive me if I haven't posted this question in the right place. I went through Google as well as the FAQ section and couldn't find an answer to the question above.

    Here are some details:

I've got 75 files I need to sketch. I know Photoshop and other software it is possible to create a process to resize the images, for example. Is there something similar to Illustrator CS5? I played a bit with stocks, but if could not understand (and so, how) it is possible to get all the files described only once.

    All responses are much appreciated.

    Thank you!

do you mean vectorize paths or text or what?

you could make an action select all, then object > path > contour Contour or type > create outlines (or both), and then use the batch processing options (at the bottom of the menu drop-down of the Actions Panel) to choose a folder to perform the action.

the batch option is perhaps what you are looking for here, not sure.

  • Rename several files from (001) & not (1)?

When I play my photo files in a slideshow on my TV, the software slide show TV 'sequences' my files photo (1), (11), (12), (13), (14), (15), (16), (17), (18), (19), (2), etc. (21) AND NOT in the order digital (1), (2), (3), etc. (4).

So, when "rename multiple files" in Windows XP, is possible to order the files of sequences of numbers such as: - (01), (02), (03) (04) or (001), (002) (003), (004) etc. instead of the standard (1), (2), (3), (4)...?

There is a freeware program called "Bulk Rename Utility".  If this program can not do what you want (and I'm sure it will be) then it cannot be done.  Method 10 is a "numbering" option which will be pré-pend or add a number to the name starting with zeros (filling) that you specify.  The program is a little overwhelming, but it comes with a good manual.

  • Is it possible to rename the files in a particular format?

Hello! I work with dozens of files like this all day, and I tried to understand if there is a way to rename them which will reduce my processing time. I know the company F2, but who don't get what I need. Here's an example, please let me know if you have any ideas. I do this particular task on Server 2003 Enterprise v5.2. But, if it makes a difference, I could move the files and do it on Server 2008 R2 Standard, 7 or XP.

    I have these three files:

    123_b_456.txt

    456_g_789.txt

    456_e_789.txt

And I want to finish with looks like this:

    123_b.txt

    456_g.txt

    456_e.txt

Is there a way to do this?

    Thanks a bunch!

I open pdf files in an application (No Add ons for acrobat exist) and want to combine without using time on saving them before their merger into a single document.

Is it possible to do without the files saved on your computer? I use acrobat x pro.

If you have opened a file, this means that you have a copy of it on your local

machine, even if it is just a temporary file. It will not work otherwise.

  • How to rename multiple files in Windows Explorer with numbers that I choose?

I have Windows Vista Ultimate, when I try to rename several .jpg files, it won't let me choose my starting number.  It is automatically defaulted to 1.

    Hello

You cannot rename multiple files at once by the design of the operating system. However, try this at your own risk:

  • Rename the file after the shooting

Is it possible to rename the files after the shooting? I need to associate each product pictures a thousand to its code to bars and I have no idea how fast.

If you already know every name, you need to be, you can do it in a batch file.  I used a spreadsheet to build orders quickly before, then paste them into Notepad, save as a batch, and then run it.

You will need to know, ahead, of what each image original name and the name of bar code is.

You can simply highlight the list of orders for change of name and paste it into a prompt for this flow and execute all the orders for you.

  • Is there an API to rename a file in a data store?

    Hello

I'm working on a backup and restore application, and when I want to restore a virtual disk, I want to rename the vmdk and flat file and copyFile since the temporary data store operation. So, is it possible to rename the files using an API? So that if the operation fails in the Middle, I can at least get back the old files.

    Thank you

    Daniele.

For the management of the core files, you'll want to use the File Manager and the method will be the task of MoveDatastoreFile(_), similar to that of the mv Linux where you can "move" the file or "Rename" the file.

VMware has a utility of vCLI called vivid that implements this, here are a few examples of what it can do - http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3i/esx_3i_rcli/vifs.php

  • Is it possible to get the files for windows vista, so I can reinstall my system?

    Hello

Im a user of linux on one machine HP Pavilion dv5-1095eo leisure. IM tired to restart my machine to run a windows OS, so is possible for me to get the files for windows vista. I got the windows key attached under the computer and I don't have any windows CD when I brought the machine.

    Hello:

You can do your own installation disc Vista too if you wish.

If you can read your 25-character product key MS, you can make your own Windows Vista installation disc. You just download the 3 files you need on the link below and read all the instructions to create a Setup bootable DVD disk using imageburn.

When I went to compile the ISO file, ImageBurn gave a message on a WIM file, file and ISO, and if I wanted to burn it in a different format.

I selected no, make the ISO file.

It was not so hard to do. I burned both the disk of 64-bit and 32-bit disk in case I ever need them.

I tested both of them (just before going forward with the actual facility) and they seem to work perfectly.

Apparently, when you enter the product key, he knows which version of Vista you have.

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/software-OS/w/microsoft_os/3317.2-3-Microsoft-Windows-VI...

After you have successfully installed vista, you can download the drivers you need your PC support and driver page.

  • How to rename multiple files with the extension in windows xp

How to rename multiple files with extension in windows XP.

    1. If you want to simply rename the extension, open a run window (Windows Logo key + R), type cmd and press ENTER. Using the CD (Change Directory) command, navigate to the folder in question. Now, type ren *.mp3, *.mp4, and press enter (note the two spaces in the command). Note, rename mp3 MP4 is just an example of the command.

  • Hi I have windows xp sp3 and recently when iam to rename a file or folder is to show that "If you rename this file .This will be unusable" so, how do I change it?

How can I change it please help me...
Visit this link for the dialog that I saw when I am trying to rename the file

Looks like you are trying to remove the extension. Probably because you do not know its there - by default, Windows HIDES extensions knows it.

Use Control Panel-folder Options (or select it from the Tools drop-down in Windows Explorer). Click the view tab and uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types", and then click OK.

The name of your file will now show you its extension, i.e. the bit after the point. The extension defines what program will try to open the default file. If you change the extension so it can not open by double click.

When you rename, do not change the bit after the point, unless you know it's the right thing to do.
