In Windows Live Mail if you open an attachment, then hit 'save' where will the file?

I have Windows 7, I use windows live mail. Sometimes I get the attachments, Word, Excel, ect. If I opened the mail document and press 'Save' I can't find out where it records. It does not save in any file temp that I see.

Help, please.

The file will be located in a folder somewhere in
C:\Users\ (YourAccount) \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet
Files\

"\AppData" is normally hidden
"\Temporary Internet Files" is normally only hidden protected by operating system
file

You need to remove the check mark (if they are hidden) in Windows Explorer:
Organize - See the file & search - Options

Good luck to find, however.

The right way is to save the first attachment and open it
the location of recording, if you want to change.

Back to the use of Windows Mail, but now some of my emails are not received by some of their recipients even if they seem to send and there is no error message. • Windows Live Mail does not open. Immediately said 'Windows Live Mail has stopped working' no error code.

original title: Live Mail does not open

Not everything goes very well for months in fact no problem since I installed that, then all of a sudden Windows Live mail does not open. He's trying, 'Start-up', but then a box will appear which says "Windows Live Mail has stopped working" and then goes on to say that we are looking for a solution, nothing. "A problem with the program to open correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"then nothing. No code, no help, zero.

  • After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?

After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?

wlmail.fol is a tiny text giving the name of the folder. The exported messages will have filenames like 00D13E83 - 000025DF.eml. If you don't see all of the files like this, your export probably did not work properly.

For a successful export, follow these directions:

    1. Set Windows Live Mail to work offline before starting.
    2. Create a temporary folder on your desktop * to contain the exported messages.
    3. In the Export Wizard, select the temporary folder, and then select all the folders.* *
    4. When it is complete, check that the number of files in each folder to the temporary folder is one more than the number of messages in the corresponding folder of WLMail.
    5. Copy the temporary file to its final destination.
If you use a reader not NTFS to do this, you will see a warning that certain file properties will not be copied files. This can be ignored.

    * Windows Live Mail do not work with files that are not on a local drive, as opposed to an external or network drive. This is avoided by using the office as a temporary folder location.
    * If you want to export the files sampled only, select each of them containing messages. Subfolders are not automatically selected by default.

  • Window Live Mail does not open the wmv files.

Window Live Mail does not open the wmv files.  It comes up with an error that says: (wrong parameters).  Also gives the path that looks all wrong.  How can I change these settings?

If I save the wmv on my desktop it will open, so I think that the file association is OK.

    1. download and save the attachment to the office.
    2. right click on the saved file.
    3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
    4. click on: choose [default] program.
    5. Select: Windows Media Player.
    6. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.
    7. click on OK.

  • Windows Live Mail 2012: Send and receive Gmail but my other account will receive only.

I have two email accounts in my Windows Live Mail: Gmail and the other through my nephew of the new server. The gmail account's sent and received on my Windows 7 PC, but it will only receive but not send. He put WLM 2012 on his windows computer with the same settings as I have, and it works. I have a Windows 7 laptop which is using WLM 2011, and it works perfectly with the new settings.

This is the error message I get trying to send an email but that remains in my Outbox: Windows Live Mail Error 0x800CCC0E. Protocol: SMTP; Port: 465; SSL: Yes; Socket error 10061.

Someone has an idea what is blocking the sending mail?

    Thanks - that's much better.

    Server: 'gator4203.hosgator.com '.

I was surprised to find an answer to my DNS lookup for the server, because at first glance, I would say it was misspelled. I could not connect with the telnet server, however.

It is a web - mail, the hostgator.com company hosting, so I guess that this is the area that you are trying to access. Please carefully check the parameters that you has been provided for this account; If the mail server is actually gator4203.hostgator.com, you can make the correction by right-clicking the name of the account in the folders pane and selecting Properties. Server names are entered on the servers tab.

  • Windows Live Mail is adjustable up to email to multiple accounts that will be presented under one heading?

I have multiple accounts on my Windows Live mail for different companies. But I want to see all mail mele under one heading, rather than under each account separately. That's the way it was under the old Windows Mail.   How can I set up?

    Phil

Yes it can.  You can have a single Inbox with multiple sources.  It's WLM 2012.  The Inbox "all" is the only one.  When you answer it takes the email address associated with the source (that is to say in my case, direct, com, org, etc.).

to set up multiple accounts go to file > options > email accounts > add them one at a time > save them.
