Increased support of Type of object in Data Modeler

Hello

It is a matter primarily for the development team to shape data as well as the Group of tools. First of all, the production of Data Modeler 3.0 version is very nice and improvements in data types on which was in EA1 are large. Thanks for adding to the support of the domain to the definition, attributes and parameters for methods which makes life much simpler and opens the door to a range more wide object type modelling and ease of implementations because consistency can now be maintained much easier through areas. Support for the smoothing of lines is also impressive. It is the best app that I've seen, even better than what we had in the Design Editor in the Oracle Designer, Bravo still once the team which built the diagrammer interfaces.

My question is, going forward will be Data Modeler has continued to be improved to fully support the Oracle objects and object relational (OR) model? I ask this question because as users of Oracle RDBMS, we do not have a tool that allows to fully model and implement the functionality provided by the server group in the field of object-relational features. Oracle Designer had a capacity of modeling of GOLD, but the end of the product life has stopped any further development. One of the common excuses is there is no request for the market for object - relational modeling. I would say, that the absence of the market demand for object - relational applications is because we have never had a tool that fully supports the relational Oracle - model object. Nor do we have a development tool that allows us to implement a fully developed relational Oracle - model object. The Tools group stopped the development of Oracle Forms support for nested objects and collections. The LOV REF columns feature is quite impressive, but we are unable to get nested collections, still less a nested collection of REFs.

So as a member of the end user community, we are stuck in this Catch 22. The server group continues to support and improve the object - model relationship, but the tools and modelling groups have not kept with the tools to model or to implement the features and the features supported by the database. As a result, we have a partially constructed set of tools that allows you to scratch the surface of the object - model relationship, but is not able to take full advantage of the powerful features of legacy, legacy and extensive collections, the ability to inherit and extend methods, etc...

The object - relational model introduced with Oracle8, 10g solved the problem of evolution of type which has made the implementation of the production of realistic objects. My question is; Data Modeler is finally going to fully support the relational Oracle - model object? If until the end user community, we finally get a tool that totally supported the model of GOLD, finally, we will be able to model, generate and deploy applications that will in turn create this market demand which is lacking for the relational model object.

Thanks in advance,
ACE

Hi Ace,

Thanks for the good words.

will be the Data Modeler has continued to be improved to fully support the Oracle objects and object relational (OR) model?

Short time - Yes. What do you want Besides lack of support now nested columns (and related to these constraints, including the PK constraint) and the generation of the 'Alter Instructions?

    Thanks for reporting the problem. I logged a bug.

    You can view together as "list of system types" directory to "preference > Data Modeler"-probably no longer exists. I guess that the setting for this directory is empty when you start SQL Dev as a different user.

    You can not remove it, but you can date deadline there.

    What means each file type?
    XML Schema
    Data model
    Preview of a file
    Breaking control file

    This is explained in the manual 'Oracle XML Publisher Administration and the Developer Guide Release 12' - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B34956_01/current/acrobat/120xdoig.pdf

    I have an XML file and a XSL file. I need to have an output in XML format.

  • Data model - SQL query

    Hello world

    I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

    I have the SQL code following in the type of SQL query data model.

    Select * from ap_invoices

    The following select statement is not to return all the rows in the view, but the fact of sqlplus.

    I have setup the EBS security model uses BEEP 10.1.3.4.1.

    What I do wrong, is there some setting I'm missing?

    Do I need to use a different security model to BEEP?

    Help, please
    Thank you.

    Hello

    AP_INVOICES is a view as you know, sound based on the ORG_ID set when you select from it. IM thinking that when you use just select * from AP_INVOICES at RANDOM. Its not abreast of your org id and its is not defining for you when you run a query, so its not rehired data. Two options:

    1. use a data model and in the pre-reading trigger set the context of the org. As you may be in an Oracle report. Data models are very powerful and offer everything that OReports done in EBS incl. triggers flex extensions

    2 use the AP_INVOICES_ALL table and set the org id in the query where clause.

    Both approaches need so that you know the id org that you want to set. The integration of the security that you won't it's to say it does not pass it when the user opens a session. I suppose you have a report folder for every responsibility you could hardcode the org id in the reports in a given folder. Or you can add it as a parameter to the user to fill out report.
    Integration level just does not quite go enough away for the time to manage the org and, therefore, the views of the org.

    hope this is clear

    What is your version of JDev? And what technology do you use to model? BC4J? Can you try to change the format of the attribute in the object view? Say with the type of Simple date format and format "mm/dd/yyyy".

  • Type of object in the physical model

    Hello

    We try to get a complete reference level for the database for deployment, but lack us the 'Types' in the physical model.

    (1) Generate DDL is not creating scripts for "CREATE TYPE" instruction to create the specification of a object type.

    (2) timing of the model with the data dictionary lists recently added external tables

    Thanks in advance

    Zafar

    Hi zak,.

    (1) Generate DDL is not creating scripts for "CREATE TYPE" instruction to create the specification of object type.

    Statements to CREATE or REPLACE TYPE should be generated for structured Types and collection Types in your model.

    Are your structured Types and the Types of Collection selected on the tabs in the Options of the generation of DDL DDL generation phase?

    (2) timing of the model with the data dictionary lists recently added external tables

    Are they newly added in the database or newly added in your model?

    Note that synchronize the model with the data dictionary does not detect the new objects added to the database.  You will need to do a data dictionary import to import additional objects.

    Support of external Tables has been extended in version 4.0.2.840 of the Data Modeler.  They can now be created in the form of Tables in the relational model, and appropriate external table properties can be set in the properties of physical model for the Table.

    If they are created in this way, then synchronize the dictionary of data with the model should identify as newly added in the model.

  • How to change the type of object?

    I have an object type, as shown below:

    create or replace type test_type1 is table of the test_object1;

    Any body could help for the alter script.

    SQL > alter type test_object1 change attribute (varchar2 (100)) val1;
    >
    Which won't work OPs example. Your example does not include the second type of object that depends on the first type.

    You cannot change the underlying type unless you use the CASCADe or INVALIDATE option.
    >
    change the type of test_object1 change attribute (val1 varchar2 (100)) waterfall;
    >
    See the CASCADE clause in the link provided by Osame
    >
    CASCADE clause

    Specify the CASCADE clause if you want to propagate the type change to the tables and dependent types. Oracle database abandons the statement if errors are found in the dependent types or tables, unless you also specify the FORCE.

    If you change the property of the type between FINAL and NON-FINAL, you must specify this clause to convert data in the tables and dependent columns. Please refer to [NOT] FINAL.

  • Physical channel selected does not support the type of output required by virtual channel

    I use a box USB-6251.  Inside of MAX, I can set the device to Dev1 / ao1 sine wave generation and if he have output a sine wave.  When I use DAQmx DAQmxCreateAOFuncGenChan function I get error: selected physical channel does not support the type of output required by virtual channel.  The pilot DAQmx does FuncGen on the box USB-6251 or MAX out a set of tensions?

    Hi Paul,.

    Welcome to the Forums EITHER!  The DAQmxCreateAOFuncGenChan is supported only on products Elvis II.  For other devices, including the 6251, you must use the ordinary DAQmxCreateAOVoltageChan and create your own data buffer.  I would recommend looking in the following example:

    Start > all programs > National Instruments > NOR-DAQ > textual Code > ANSI C examples...

    Analog on > generate voltage > Cont Gen Volt Wfm - Int Clk

    In MAX the Sinewave output is used as a test signal - in this case MAX is a period of the wave sine values to write to the buffer and generate these data.  Again, you can produce a sine wave (or any other function) using the AOVoltageChan, but the AOFunctionGenChan is used only with Elvis II.  Just generate data points for the sine wave that will produce DAQ hardware.

  • remove/delete objects without data

    Hello

    I have a few custom agents who create objects of data during execution by reading the agent properties where I specify the name of the data object. The agent has then creates a new data object and send the metric data (as defined in the XML of topology). It all works very well.

    The problem arises when a data object is no longer needed and so removed the agent properties. The object node of data remains in the data Explorer and the values for the metric is illustrated by n/a in a graph or a table because the agent not call more all data of that specific object.

    Is there a way to delete these objects that no longer get / submitting data.

    Thanks in advance

    If your sandboxes have the elements of form generation on the side of the administration of the system, then most likely you have replaced a sandbox created after the publication by a prior created sandbox which does not contain the information from the form in the file CatalogAM.xml. I think that's the name. To oracle support site, there are best practices sandbox offline that you can search. I'm restoring your mds changes and then recreate these forms and publish every sandbox in order before new forms are created.

    Only, you have specified the type of the variable. You must initialize if before using it.

    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE str_batch IS OBJECT
    (
       d date;
    )

    declare

  • With the help of a user defined type as a return type of function with a type of object

    Hi, I created my own data type of table I want to use as data type back to a member function of an object type that I created.

    I work in an environment of 10g.

    The code I used looks like this:

    create or replace
    Dim p As Package as

    type p_rec is (number of v1);
    type p_tab is table of the p_rec;

    end p;
    /

    CREATE or REPLACE TYPE p_ot () AS OBJECT

    / * some statements * /.

    NO DEFINITIVE MEMBER FUNCTION p.p_tab RETURN foo

    );
    /

    When I try to compile p_ot I get an error: Error (5.40): PLS-00201: identifier 'P.P_TAB' must be declared.

    I don't know the syntax is correct so I must be missing something, amy hepl would be great.

    See you soon

    You can define types of objects

    create type p_rec as object ( v1 number );
    create type p_tab as table of p_rec;

    They can be used inside the package (p) in your example) as well as defined in the package.
    In this case, there will be no problems with create type

    CREATE TYPE p_ot AS OBJECT (

    /* some declarations*/

    NOT FINAL MEMBER FUNCTION foo RETURN p_tab
    );

    Sorry!.
    Actually, I meant

    I thought as well.

    Typos can be expensive however. As a probe of NASA Mars in 99, which was lost due to a simple mathematical error - a confusion between English and metric units. ;-)

    Or screw up a server in reason to use a Unix fork() where the client process think that it is the parent and the beginning more children who believe they are also parents of spawning... (one of my mistakes of kewlest never) :-)

  • RMAN supports two types of backups...

    [http://www.amazon.com/Oracle-Database-RMAN-Backup-Recovery/dp/0072263172#reader_0072263172]

    This question is related to the book "Oracle Database 10g RMAN Backup & Recovery" by Matthew Hart and Robert G Freeman on page 6.

    Please see the attachment. It says 'RMAN supports two types of backups.

    Stop the database instance for cold backup and copy the necessary files using OS commands.

    So, what is the meaning of say RMAN supports the backup of cold. We must not RMAN do cold back.

    Context in which the author said that the above sentence.

    Thank you
    Smith

    If you're doing a cold backup by RMAN (which is done with the database in MOUNT State), the advantage is that RMAN updates its repository / controlfile with information about the backup that was made.
    As a result, RMAN can be used to identify and restore the backup.

    (Of course, if the backup is a BACKUPSET, then you must RMAN to restore the backup, while a backup as COPY DATA file can also be restored using OS commands).

  • map a java object to data from multiple data sources

    We have the requirement that the attributes in a domain class can come from data from multiple data sources. Is TopLink supports this type of mapping? Is it possible to do this mapping in the workbench?

    Thank you very much!

    Ming-Wen

    TopLink supports a feature of SessionBroker. This allows classes in the same session to come from different sources of data and for the relations between the classes of data sources. It does not allow a single instance of direct data from multiple data sources, but the Forum could have a link with its data in the other data source.
