Increasing shared graphics memory in 600-1050

Graphics memory on my 600-1050 is shared - out of the box, it's using 256 MB of the 4 GB of RAM.

Can I expand this to 512 MB or 1 GB? If so, how? I saw no option in the NVidia Control Panel or in the BIOS.

Thanks in advance.

Paul

If they are not all BIOS settings can change the memory settings for video graphic card on Board then I doubt you could increase it to more than what you have which is only 256 MB... unless the operating system it increases dynamically as needed.

  • problems with dedicated and shared graphics memory

So basically I want to run a game that I have all the specs (above actually) that I need to play outside of memory dedicated to the graphics card. But what confuses the life out of me, is that I have about double the necessary memory required in system memory shared which as I understand, it is used on an as-needed-basis. However, clearly this is not the case, as soon as I try and run it crashes immediately.

Okay, so I have the graphics card with the following specifications:

chip type: mobile intel (R) 4 series express chipsets
channel of the card: mobile Intel GMA 4500 M
    total memory: 797 MB
    memory: 64 MB dedicated
    shared system memory: 733 mb

Shared memory (part of your system RAM) is provided by Windows on a dynamic basis, it is added if required and with a limited amount by the RAM of the system itself needs to run applications (= your shared graphics memory size can be based on available RAM total). It's a help for some graphical features, but not necessarily a guarantee to run games that explicitly requires a certain base of dedicated RAM video. As the dedicated RAM (own GPU memory) is much faster than the share of the contributions of RAM, two cases can appear:

    (1) the game does not start. Many games check the video hardware before starting, and if they are 64 MB VRAM and require more, often it is game over. The dynamically allocated shared memory cannot be controlled and is of no interest here.

    (2) other games may be more forgiving. But you're going to be faced with a vicious circle: you're hoping using shared memory, is a clear indicator of a graphic solution already slow and Asthenique (i.e. an integrated graphics card). Unfortunately, the slow system RAM does not speed up your graphics card, and taking a part of the RAM for the graphics features: with a slower running your game and can still finish in the dysfunctions.

  • increase the graphics memory.

I want to ask if there are two different models of dell inspiron 15 5547?

and how can I increase dedicated graphics memory for intel graphics hd that I have the graphics card.

There are indeed two versions: only Intel and Intel-hybrid video.

There is no way to manually increase the video allocation on the Intel video systems only.  Your application is the dedicated video memory research, your system does not - you need a laptop able to run everything you try to run.

    Hi Aditya,

Thanks for joining us out on Microsoft Community Forums.

As you are interested to learn more about the increase in the memory of the dedicated graphics card, I advise you to buy an external graphics card. You can do this by contacting the manufacturer of the computer or the store local tech.

I would also say to update you Direct X 10 for direct X 11 and check if it helps.

  • Satellite P305-8915 - how to increase the graphics memory of ATI Radeon 3650?

    Hello

In the specification of [Toshiba P305-8915 | http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2234100& rpn = PSPCCU & modelFilter = & SelCategorie = 3 & selFamily = 10 73768663] I saw grapich memory could be changed, but my question is how to do this? I have search and I can not find it.

Ideas to change the graphics memory?

As far as I know shared memory cannot be set by the laptop user. It depends on the RAM upgrade. With more RAM, graphics card will use more memory for the graphics operation.

As you can see in the specs that your laptop can be upgraded up to 8 GB of RAM.

  • Satellite A200 - how to increase the graphics memory?

    Hi, another question.

I am unsing an A200-1CC, it's an Intel 945 Express Chipset Family settled. I tried to install a game that requires memory graph 256Motets. I received an error message "Shadow Pixel 1.1" maybe not supproted... and the page the maanufactured FAQ told me be sure to habe 256 MB in use.

The A200-1CC has a 1024 MB of RAM and uses only a little over 100 MB memory graphics. I have check the Intel web page. My 945 Chipset supports Pixel of the shadow; and memory maximum grpahics used in 256 MB. So I increased my mother-2048 MB memory card today. However; It shows still 122 MB graphics memory in use. Page intel says that sometimes you can adjust the DMTV in bios, but that does not apply to my system.

Any chance to get used to 256 MB graphics memory? -I use a Vista system...?

Thanks in advance for any idea you may have.

    ;-) Ingo

    Hello!

No, you can increase the video RAM and there is no option to change this.
The video RAM will be assigned automatically, but you can t change that.

I know this good news of aren t but in my opinion the Intel graphic card is not designed for games. An nVidia or ATI card graphics would be a better solution for the game.

    Good bye

  • Equium A110-276 - why shared graphics memory is not set to max 128 MB?

I have a satellite A110-276 and the maximum graphics memory is 128 MB...
Now, when I bought this laptop, it says that the graphics memory is 128 MB, which is correct.

So I can play high graphic games and applications.
After 9 months, shared for graphics memory become 64 MB! What the?
Now when I play and use applications that need 128 MB, they are advising me that my graphic memory is 64 MB, which is low and applications can become slow.
    Someone had this problem?

I tried to contact Toshiba and they said I need more RAM, I tried calling 4 times and they always say the same thing... but I already 1 024 MB of RAM, which is pretty... My problem is why the motherboard or BIOS does not share up to 128 MB of RAM for the graphics...

    Hello

The satellite A110-276 supports an Intel graphic chip 945GM!
Intel graphics cards affect the automatically shared memory! The graphics driver controls the memory, and you can not manually set the amount!
If the application needs memory more graphic then the driver will assign and automatically share the memory!
Concern don t, everything seems ok!

  • Satellite A100-750: how to increase the graphics memory

    Hi all

I have a question... can I change the amount of memory available for the video card?
Now the pc with Vista home premium have only 64 MB dedicated for the video card and 271 MB of available system memory and memory system used 0.
It is possible to Exchange software video memory setting?

    Fabrizio

    Hello

Are you sure that your graphics card for laptop supports shared memory?
AFAIK the A100-750 was delivered with a nVIDIA GeForce FX Go7300 and this card supports own video memory of 64 MB. This isn't shared, memory and so you cannot increase this memory of graphics card on a higher value.

In this case the graphics card uses the own memory, and the laptop need not share main memory with the graphics card.

  • Satellite L845D - how to increase shared video memory (AMD APU)

I have a 512 MB to 1 GB, but I have no option in the BIOS. In desktop APU systems, it is possible, since there is an option in the BIOS. Should I kind of updated, unlocked or BIOS 'hacked '?

    Thanks in advance

    BIOS hacked?
Forget buddy... don't even think about BIOS hacks... something like that (if possible) would be detrimental to your unit... certainly...

Shared memory cannot be increased manually... it is controlled by the graphics driver and especially depends on the main memory... in some cases, the shared memory will increase after RAM upgrade...

  • How to increase the graphics memory Satellite A45-S151

OK, so I'm giving my video more RAM.

The problem is that I can't understand where the settings are to assign more RAM to video.

I think you have an Intel graphics chip (something like Intel 852GME)
    Is this right?

This graphics chip support internal 32 MB memory graphics, in addition, it uses 16-64 MB shared memory and this is controlled automatically by the graphics driver.
So it seems that you can not assign it manually

You can not directly increase graphics memory.
Its not like RAM, where you can add more memory with a different RAM slot.

You may need to install the new graphics card if supported.
