  It would depend on the plugin installed, if the browser doesn't have a player plugin then pdf does not open in the browser.

  Not much can be done through Muse, but you can try some settings of pdf password etc.

  The result is that Adobe does not provide any software to defeat the security of a PDF file. If the creator of the PDF file set to this level of security, intentionally or not, that's what it is! The solution to your problem is to go to the creator of the document and ask the password or an unprotected PDF file version.

  InDesign has no control on how Apple Mail displays a PDF it creates.

  My experience is that Mail displays a preview of a single PDF page, but not a multiple page PDF. In addition, for a single page PDF, the user may tip if the PDF shows a preview by right-clicking the icon/preview.

• Windows 8: make a PDF open in Acrobat Standard or Pro instead of default player

  In an environment Windows 8, how can set you all PDFs to open in Acrobat Standard or professional instead of drive? I tried right click on a PDF file in Windows Explorer, select Properties, then changing the default player to the professional application. Although it seems to work (generates no error), continues to open in the Reader PDF files. There must be a way to change this. I have spent about 15 minutes of Googling cela, but was surprised, that I have could not find any solution.

  I received a pdf file which opens in Photoshop and Acrobat one-way, (like a 3.5x2 business card) then opens as a 8.5 x 11, 10 set of cards to bus in Illustrator. How is what happens? (I get a message of font substitution, but which would have to be done by the sight of entirely different content?)  I want to open the file as it opens in Acrobat, but this version/page is not where the opening in other applications.

  It seems that the pdf was cropped in Acrobat. Acrobat has a strange way of cropping. I bet that if you open the PDF in Acrobat (Standard or Pro...?) and select the culture Pages, you can see the same foreign content in the preview. In short, Acrobat modifies (modified in this case) a collection of data records, but do not delete the image data.

  I can't promote a Lion Server to an Open Directory in Fusion 4 (running the latest version of the Fusion and Lion) master. The Lion VM Server just hangs. I tried NAT and Bridged mode, neither one allows me to complete the process. Can I promote a physical machine very well. I was wondering if someone else ran into this.

  What is a good way to troublehsoot this on the side of Fusion, i.e. balls I should look? I support that I recently bought 4 merge, I should open a ticket with technical support?

  Your VM has only a single processor core is attributed to the?  It seems that Lion Server will create an Open Directory master, unless the virtual machine has at least two CPU cores allocated.  That problem is described in the Release Notes for Fusion 4 under Known Issues > guest operating systems.

  Adding a second processor on the computer virtual kernel must solve this problem, but note that, in certain circumstances, the Lion trying to create the master OD seems to enter the customer in an invalid configuration from which it will not recover - in other words, there is a chance that you will need to do a fresh install after it bumping to two processor cores (or you might need to do a job more than I does it try to figure out how to recover the invalid configuration).

  Normally, I put all the fields, check boxes and option boxes I need using Acrobat before downloading/creating a Widget, but were never able to determine if/when in acrobat that you could potentially affect hide/show/toggle conditions.  In this way, if I ever need to make any changes to the PDF source and produce a new widget, I don't have to redo all the settings of the conditions if these fields does not change in any way.

  You can add text fields (or checkbox and radio buttons) and name these fields using the tag text, but without the brackets syntax.

  Sounds stupid, but I can't find the way to create empty signature fields in Acrobat 9 pro, that I need to send the file so that Reader users can sign.

  Sign and then remove the signature (leaving the empty signature field) isn't a valid alternative, this should be done by many (not just me).

  You can create a signature field using the Digital Signature tool. Forms: Form tools: Digital Signature. This places a task on the page which is for the signature.

  e. right click on IconCache.db , and click Remove.
  f. click Yes to confirm the deletion.
  NOTE: This removes the file to the trash. It is safe to empty the trash when you are done.
  g. close the window.
  h. emptying the trash.
  i. restart the computer.
  j. When you come back, you will notice the size of the file IconCache.db is reduced, and the update is now the current date.
  NOTE: If for some reason any IconCache.db isn't there or the size has not much changed then you can just restart the computer again. You may need to restart a few times in some cases.

  Google chrome, I want to open a PDF file that automatically opens outside Acrobat Chrome either within Acrobat itself.

  I want first to save the PDF file, then open it.

  I want Chrome to download, and then open the PDF in Acrobat.

  Acrobat 9 would do that. How do you do this in Acrobat XI?

  Using shift + click on disable isn't intuitive behavior.

  Now when you click on a PDF file on a web page, the Chrome browser will not have a plugin to manage the PDF file, so it will bring up a dialog box record.

  Go ahead and save the PDF file somewhere like downloads.

  The Chrome browser will show at the bottom of the browser window, a reference to the downloaded PDF file.

  I want to password protect a dynamic PDF (xfa) form stored on a network drive with an Acrobat action. When I run the action, the action show the stage of encryption in gray (disabled). It works with the flat PDF but not with PDF Forms. (XFA)

  I downloaded your PDF, open in Acrobat Pro XI test and had no problem to encrypt it. I have it encrypted with a password and it worked. I used two tools-> Protection-> Encrypt and file-> properties-> Security-> security method. I don't know what else to say. Sure you have Acrobat Pro XI and not Standard? You can encrypt PDFs ordinary (non - XFA) with the same copy of Acrobat XI?

  After that I did everything that I realized you want to use the share feature to encrypt. So, I created an action of encryption with the tools-> Action-> create new Action Wizard, tried to use it and it did not work. Bingo! I guess it's a bug in Acrobat XI. I'll try to get Adobe to open a bug on it.

  I have a form created dynamically with JavaScript in Adobe Acrobat 9. I exported the variable amount of data in an XFDF file.

  Now, I want to import the XFDF file into a second PDF file. But while the data is variable, I need to read the data imported manually

  and to create the new PDF dynamically. This is required, while the new PDF must contain a chart made in Flash and will be

  filled with data from the XFDF file.

  My problem is, that "doc.importAnXFDF ()" does not return the data that is imported as an object. I was looking for solutions

  but I have always found solutions to automatically populate an existing form. The API guide is not useful. Where can I read the imported data

  to iterate on and in the process.

  pages programmatically. In fact, this has many advantages for my use case, including to prevent the many errors made by users.

  So I decided to use this solution and close this issue.

  In Acrobat, open the document and select: file > properties > initial view > magnification > 100%

  and register again.
