  I try to install InDesign cs5.5 on my Windows 7 desktop... the instruction say navigate to the Adobe Indesign CS5.5 on the DVD and double click folder

  You can place a PDF file in an InDesign document, but you cannot modify it. You can make small amounts of editing PDF documents in Acrobat Pro.

  I wonder if your client is thought to an Acrobat form, where users can add data to text boxes and so on.

  I can't find a reference for the limits of the type of TIFF file as Indesign CS5.5 / CS6 can support.

  for example, Indesign cannot import a TIFF file with CCITT Group 4 compression / CCITT Group 3

  I thought Indesign can support all kinds of TIFF and I was denied when I tried to import a TIFF file with compression CCITT 4 (black and white TIFF).

  Beyond the information provided by Steve Werner...

  It is true that Photoshop cannot save an image on two levels (i.e. single bit monochrome) TIFF CCITT Group 4 compresses (or group 3-compresses).

  However, Acrobat Pro can save PDF as CCITT Group 4 compressed TIFF Group 3

  And I confirm that InDesign cannot place a CCITT Group 4 or group-3 compressed TIFF image.

  Ironically, Photoshop can open TIFF CCITT Group 4 compressed files but when simply save even saves TIFF compressed into ZIP files.

  So, the quickest way for the placement of your CCITT Group 4 TIFF files compressed in InDesign is to simply open and resave the TIFF files in Photoshop.

  Yes, a hack villain, but it allows you to work around this limitation.

  I have Indesign cs5 and adobe photoshop cs5 extended installed in my copmputer. I see these two programs as the most important applications installed in my computer. I'm just wondering that perhaps some of the Indesign cs5 and photoshop cs5 preferences are the same. I think that these files are the reason why both applications are very large.

  For example the Adobe Bridge cs5, I think that Adobe Bridge is installed twice in my computer. One and the installation of Indesign from Photoshop.

  You can not save space on your hard drive by combining portions of these programs don't.

  Their "preferences" occupy a very small fraction of the space used by these programs.

  In addition, they already have a wide range of common (shared) files that are used by the two programs that are installed outside the directories of the program for each program.

  Close visual studio, close indesign.

  InDesign opened by a right-click and select run as administrator.  Just do it once, all subsequent charges may be under the normal permission set.  This allows InDesign create the applicable type libraries.

  Now load your project, and then select Add a reference on the COM tab, it should now be a library of types of work Adobe InDesign CS5.

  Then it's as simple as:

  InDesign.ApplicationClass App = new InDesign.ApplicationClass ();

  App.DoScript (_ScriptToProcess.ToString (), InDesign.idScriptLanguage.idJavascript, new Object() {""}); sends the script to indesign for treatment (not assyncronous)

I ran the doctor of the police through all my fonts, and I tried to uninstall and reinstall the full CS5 suite 3 times already and also screw up my doc prefs several times.   One of my colleagues helped me with that. I tried Adobe support, but when they find out, I heard nothing more from them. At work, one of my colleagues knows this kind of computer/Mac-Fixer. His first proposal was to remove all plugins and try to install them again - one by one. I discovered that the plugin for character Chinese/Japanese/Korean called SING. InDesignPlugin caused my problem. I just removed this from my Plugins/text file and InDesign CS5 has worked well.

  You posted in an old, dead, forum. But now, I found your message... Acrobat is not compatible with InDesign, they did not need to work together. You should NEVER use always distill with InDesign, export. Acrobat Pro preflight tools has, and the only version you can buy is Acrobat Pro DC.
