  So let's say that you have called Item1, Item2, Item3, and discount fields and you want to add the first 3 and then subtract the fourth total (sub).

  You can use the simplified field Notation on the calculation of your total field tab and enter the following in it:

  (Item1, Item2 and Item3) - Discount

  If the field names are more complex then a custom calculation script may be used instead:

  Often when using my Mac, it's been really great select the option print and be able to select the "PDF" button and print a web page or other document to a PDF file.

  Is there a such app available for the iPad?  I searched the iTunes app store for "print to PDF" and there are a lot of apps, but all seem not to do exactly what I want.  They are apps to convert PDFs in Word, etc files or images in PDF format, or they are documents scanners that create PDF files from photos and many others.

  Can anyone recommend an application that can be added to the share button universal who will do a "Print to PDF" and save it or open with another application like purple or other Notes Organizer?

  Don't know exactly, but if you have Pages for iPad you can export a file as a PDF and then use it as you wish. That would help?

  I like that in CP5, Adobe has allowed users to change the icon associated with opening and closing of a Table of contents in layers.  Having said that, unfortunately, they show if small, I don't see what I created.  So, I was wondering, is there an advanced action or an action script that I could assign to a button that will allow my users open/close the table of contents?

  I suspect the project manager has his copy of Reader/Acrobat simply set to print full size, rather than "Worthy" (assuming that the size of InDesign pages is truly 8.5 x 11).

  I have a crazy idea: it is possible to store parameters to script with the InDesign file?

(like all the necessary parameters are stored with the indesign file), and of course we can force InDesign to display the script dialog parameters if run us with the alt/option key pressed when executing this script. Maybe even different scripts will be able to share these settings and interact with each other... We will be able to have the settings will be saved with the file, or temp settings for the document assets or session (till InDesign is closed). With eventListeners and commissioning, scripts, that we will be able to make scripts that would be able to check updates and automatically run when we placing images and text and so on... This can be a set framework of InDesign scripting, allowing to write scripts that use ui and same libraries so we don't have to write everything from scratch every time and just included required libs...

  So here are 2 great questions for now:

  (1) is it possible to store script with .indd file settings

  (2) who is interested in creating InDesign scripting (because it only makes sense if it will use a lot of people)

  PS: I know that it is possible to store settings in an external file, but this time, I'm interested only to save the params with .indd
