  All clients work with a Mac. When they want to open a file, the plugin copy the file from the network drive to a local folder and opens the copy.

  But in this way, all the links to the images get lost.

  Mac - path that is displayed in the indesign palette:

  The interesting thing is, if I open the file on the network drive, InDesign on Mac is able to find the links via the Windows paths.

  But as soon as I copy locally, links are missing.

  Create a symbolic link in the root directory did the trick:

  CD /.

  mkdir myNetworkDrive

  ln-s/Volumes/Data/myNetworkDrive

  You can create cross-references to anchor points and paragraphs. If you need create an anchor text in new.indd, then use as the target of the cross reference:

  My RT Surface, largely healed a litany of problems that I posted previously, still has a problem I forgot to mention before: the native video app or app PressPlay play all my .mov and .wmv files. No problems with mp4s; they play very well.

  Is this just a limitation of Windows RT or a particular problem with my device? I recently did a clean reinstall, and the problem persists, just like before. The files in question are stored on the MicroSD card.

• Why is my cloudy jpg this time? Now I have slightly modified the InDesign file and need a clean jpg.

  I think I messed my color profiles since I designed the file using InDesign last year (which created a beautiful jpg).  I looked at the profiles of colors for each PDF and JPG and they appear identical, however; my new file looks like lighter; not black enough. I usually export to just open (interactive at 300 dpi) PDF of the PDF file in Photoshop and save it as JPG but this time the exact same InDesign file creates the cloudy JPG. I tried so many times and so many profiles of different color that I don't know what the problem could be. Any help would be appreciated.

  I threw all my test files and tried to export directly to a JPG to max/300 dpi in INDD. Then open in PS, resized (prevention of the best) and it worked! I don't know why it doesn't have the other times, but I throw my preferences since the first time I tried it.

If I export the files related, using the same PDF preset, the colors are kept, but when exporting from layout with them tied it converts black in 4 colors.   What happens when you color manage CMYK to another space CMYK, try using PDF X / 1 setting first and make sure that preserve numbers is set for the release, let us know how it goes.

  1. The INDD format back on Mac and Windows.
  2. If you have the same version or a version more recent that the file was created with you can open it without problem.
  3. If you want to open a file in an earlier version, you should ask an IDML file from the initiator. But expect undesirable changes in the file.
  4. Inside the creative cloud you can open cs6 up any latest file if you have an internet connection, but expect changes too.
  5. Problems between Mac and Windows are often policies. The Mac can read only fonts Windows, but Windows can not read only Mac fonts. If you are using OTF fonts only you have no problem.
  6. New OS have problems with T1 (Postscript fonts), my recommendation is to avoid.
  7. Using PSE often of problems appear, specific with the new operating system and postscript fonts are embedded in the EPS, do not use it, use PDF/X-4.

  However, when inserting to email, certainly in the office, the format returned from any other format, that is, png or another format of JPEG file.

  I have a project that requires the design of variable signs that need to be updated, and then create a link to a Master InDesign document. For the first round, I used the traditional way of building the panels in Photoshop and placing them in the InDesign document, that works pretty well and I am able to recreate a link to them. Howerer, I wonder if multiple files using InDesign will work out because I can then use paragraph, character and Styles of object as well as the other tool in InDesign to maintain consistent all the.   I put a compressed file to the printer if I have an option at all. The high resolution PDF on export correctly, has all the necessary information, and none of th e hassles with fonts or the missing links that can occur when you work with native files.
