Only black color on the linked indesign files conversion 4 black color process when exporting to PDF?

I have a paged presentation that contains multiple indesign files linked. They have two colors: black to 100% and a spot color. If I export the files related, using the same PDF preset, the colors are kept, but when exporting from layout with them tied it converts black in 4 colors. I checked the separations on the layout file but they are all very good. It's just a bug or am I doing something stupid?

What happens when you color manage CMYK to another space CMYK, try using PDF X / 1 setting first and make sure that preserve numbers is set for the release, let us know how it goes.

  • Color lost when exporting to PDF

When I export my (CC, version 20141) InDesign file to PDF (Acrobat Pro DC), text blocks lose their fill color. Another color in the text, tables, etc., is preserved. I tried to export a pdf and interactive pdf printing. The problem occurs regardless of the RGB or CMYK colors. Puzzled.

My friend I tried ways of difference and I found something... It is not part of indesign, it is in the setting of PDF error that you applied. See the image (try to uncheck the option)

  • Strange rectangle showing up behind the linked .ai file when in InDesign doc

    Hello

I work in a file, InDesign must have a logo placed in it. It was sent to me as a .eps file and I did a .ai file. However, when I place the logo in InDesign (as .ai or .eps) and when exporting to PDF, it has this strange small rectangle white behind it, as you will see in the attachment. No idea what could be causing that or how can I solve it?

  • Link InDesign files in an InDesign Master file?

I found that I can link several files InDesign in a single InDesign Master document using the "Place" command which allows me or others make changes in each separate and then InDesign file update the links in the document master InDesign through the links Panel. I wonder what others think to do this and what advantages or disadvantages anyone experienced using this layout technique. For example, how are the links within the files of individual work if say one of them is broken, how will this affect the file in the Master. Or what happens when the Master InDesign packed for output file? How this handful of collecting all the links individual files or all content and images should be incorporated into each individual to avoid working file and linking issues in the Master Document. Since it is possible to link the InDesign Documents in a Master InDesign file, this is something that should be done?

I have a project that requires the design of variable signs that need to be updated, and then create a link to a Master InDesign document. For the first round, I used the traditional way of building the panels in Photoshop and placing them in the InDesign document, that works pretty well and I am able to recreate a link to them. Howerer, I wonder if multiple files using InDesign will work out because I can then use paragraph, character and Styles of object as well as the other tool in InDesign to maintain consistent all the. Please let me know your opinion on this.

    Thank you for your help.

I put a compressed file to the printer if I have an option at all. The high resolution PDF on export correctly, has all the necessary information, and none of th e hassles with fonts or the missing links that can occur when you work with native files.

  • Hypertext links to the URL changes when exporting to PDF

I use InDesign CS6 to create a document with many links to URLS. I found that the conversion of INDD as PDF (Export to PDF) process is changing some special characters in the link, basically to break hyperlinks in the PDF file (for example, a symbol equation "=" AND the question mark symbol "?") • Illustrator can not read the linked Photoshop files.

For the last few weeks, all my files with linked Photoshop files were unable to open. I must point out that they contain all of the Photoshop files with spot channels and are a mix between CMYK and RGB. Spot channels are what I need. I use files PSD place archaic DCS2.0 .eps files to save space on the disk. For almost a year which was absolutely perfect, no problem. Now I can't open a file without getting an error 'File can not be read' and then we close the file immediately, without the possibility to recreate a link to a new file or anything like that. This results in me having to create a new DCS2.0 file and the original illustrator file from scratch. VERY FRUSTRANT and plenty of time to say the least.

This does not happen with the psd files with no channel spot, than those who have channels spots.

Illy is why all of a sudden?

I have clients waiting to draw accurate repetition of their designs, and now they will be slightly off because I have to redo all the files. I dread the day that I find one that can not be done again.

    Operating system: Win7 x 86

    CS5 Design Premium

    Illustrator v15.0.2

If you need more information, please let me know - I would like ot fix this and back using psd with spot-it channels files was not only allowing me to save space, but also for letting me use the transparency and was faster to load/save.

Did you add Pantone + color system to your color book?

I had the same problem and it is solved by removing any reference Pantone + book color and remove my prefrences illustrator. This can mean relocation of illustrator. Aparently Illustrator can read only a system of colors at once and if there is a spot color that does not recognize the color book that he will not place the image.

  • You can open the same indesign file on mac and PC?

Watch creative installation cloud on a mac and PC (at work) but need to read old and new indesign files created. Thank you

    1. The INDD format back on Mac and Windows.
    2. If you have the same version or a version more recent that the file was created with you can open it without problem.
    3. If you want to open a file in an earlier version, you should ask an IDML file from the initiator. But expect undesirable changes in the file.
    4. Inside the creative cloud you can open cs6 up any latest file if you have an internet connection, but expect changes too.
    5. Problems between Mac and Windows are often policies. The Mac can read only fonts Windows, but Windows can not read only Mac fonts. If you are using OTF fonts only you have no problem.
    6. New OS have problems with T1 (Postscript fonts), my recommendation is to avoid.
    7. Using PSE often of problems appear, specific with the new operating system and postscript fonts are embedded in the EPS, do not use it, use PDF/X-4.
  • I can not open the same indesign file I was working on that

I was building an indesign file earlier today it's not impossible to open on the same computer. The window says it's a newer version which cannot be read by my request. How can this be? All my updates are underway. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need to get back to work as soon as possible! Thank you

  • "File in use: the action cannot be completed because the folder or file is open in another program" when you rename a folder with Thumbs.db inside

I looked at many similar responses but no nails really our problem.

On a Windows client 7 to rename a folder that is located on a file server running SBS 2003.  When you try to rename a file that has a file "thumbs.db" in there he throws the message "file in use: the action cannot be completed because the folder or file is open in another program. and then it won't let you rename it.  This isn't a problem with other XP clients attached to the same server.  We have reduced to folders that have this file thumbs.db in through trial and error.

It will work when you show just the icons which is unacceptable.  However, you can rename a folder that is located on the customers own local disk.

Suggestions - we can work around it, but it of inturupting workflow and is old fashioned all simply boring.

    Thank you

  • Objects in InDesign files disappear when exporting to PDF (CS5.5)

I have a text that was created in text converted to outlines, filled and has a drop shadow applied. When I export the document to PDF, part (fill) text disappears, and all I get is the shadow. I tried to change a color non-spot, I tried to remove all attributes, and nothing seems to work! I also tried to copy this work to the Clipboard and paste them into an Illustrator file (says that it's too big to fit the editing table, which I checked sizes - and it must adapt. I tried to copy the paths and sticking them in Photoshop as a smart object... no chance either. What Miss me? Thanks in advance for any help!

I hate to suggest it, but have you tried the PDF instead of export of distillation? It seems to me, too, as there is a problem in the file, and sometimes still work if an export will not. What happens if something do you know the history of this file?

  • Colorful TIFF appears different color when exporting to PDF

    Hello world

I'm having a problem with the Tiff feature in InDesign CC.

I have a series of print drawings that use the same structure: a TIFF color in the background and a Duotone above this one PSD file.
Most of these models work perfectly. However, for some reason any two of them show a radical change in the color of the background TIFF when I export them to PDF printing. Please note that this is not happening when you create a PDF "Interactive", or another type of file with "Print" PDF.

Here is my file in InDesign:
    Screen Shot 2016-08-30 at 12.45.56 PM.png

And here's what it becomes when you export to PDF:

    Screen Shot 2016-08-30 at 12.46.25 PM.png

Any idea what the problem might be? I checked the source files in Photoshop and I see no difference between these and other pages that export without any problem. But I could be missing something.
I tried to recreate the same design in a new file, but continues to be the same thing.

    Pointers welcome!

    Thank you very much!

You're showing couture artifact, but they would occur only if you flattened export, but then your export screenshot shows you do not flatten?

Try to export using the RGB version by default PDF/X-4 and display them in Acrobat.

  • InDesign CC - hyperlinks broken when exported to PDF (Acrobat) format

    Hi all

I created a PDF from Indesign CC (9.2.1 x 64), but when I have a PDF of the document, a number of hyperlinks (not all) appear broken when opened in Acrobat Pro XI. These hyperlinks direct the browser to the general site (i.e. a "this page cannot be found" page on www.nytimes.com) but not to the specific article that the hyperlink points to. This problem occurs if I use another PDF reader, but unfortunately this PDF file will be sent to a wide audience, which mostly uses Acrobat.

Does anyone know a solution to this problem? I've read up and looks like it was supposed to be resolved in this version of InDesign, but it obviously isn't.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello world

If, by some stroke of luck, I managed to get by myself.

I noticed that as the link was opening Acrobat, the browser was temporarily (for about half a second) adding a %20 at the end of the broken links. After a Google search, I realized that it is because my broken links had a space at the end. While this space normally wouldn't (and don't have any importance when I was manually copying the link from indesign in the browser), Acrobat, seeing the space, he added the %20 and so evil re-routed address (there is a little info about it here Acrobat adding %20 to the pdf in iOS links). Anyway, I went through my paper and remove the space at the end of the any broken links and now everything works perfectly and I sent my document. Problem solved!

Thanks a lot for all your help! I really appreciate it!

  • Color chart of model move when exported to PDF and read in Preview/GoodReader

I tried for days find an answer to this issue, but have failed. You should also know that I am a self-taught user Adobe Creative Suite. I'm working on a Mac with CS6.

I work for a small publisher that produces knitting books. The problem is this: our tech editor has created graphics in Illustrator using the color chart of model function. (These are graphic knit. Each square contains a shade of motif representing the knit stitch).

I then place these cards in their format native .ai in an Indesign file and exporting to PDF. In Acrobat, the charts look fabulous. In the drive of the preview Mac and GoodReader, tables do this...

    Screen Shot 2013-12-10 at 11.40.59 AM.png

... the model color chart move around inside their places. Each of these points must be placed inside their places. First, when I resize the application framework, the nuances of the model move I have re-size of the frame. Any ideas on what could happen here?

I tried to save the graphics as PDF files and putting those in the InDesign file. Does not help. Export diagrams as images (jpg or tif) works, but I need to make ridiculously high resolution/size for the quality of the vector image. I would rather put .ai files in the .indd file if possible.

Try to use the file > object > expand on a copy of the original before making the PDF for placement.

  • InDesign CS6 crashing when exporting to PDF (not problem of fonts)

I tried to export my PDF with all the different types of settings. It is only an 8-page document. It has about 15 jpg low resolution in it. I used a font Adobe stock. There are several hyperlinks in the file, but for most it is just text. I have no idea how to solve this problem. And of course, I need it to work tomorrow. I get a message saying error it is the overlay text on 3 of 8 pages, but I don't think it's something that could cause this problem. Any ideas? Thank you!
