InDesign Page question

Hello, do a project for a college course, and a hard time with something.

My book is finished, but the Professor us advised to make a new document and put it in a drive to spread, that is really just moving all the stuff that I have more in the new document, while keeping an additional empty page, which makes everything from the left page, go to the right.

in any case, I have objects that cross the border in the next page when I do that. It is not a huge problem on some pages, but on others it is. So I am looking for a way to make more independent pages. I prefer not to have them separated, because of this project, she we back every page on itself. So is there anyway short through each page and delete all the images that go through?

http://i71.Photobucket.com/albums/i157/Cr0n0dbz/Untitled.PNG

It is a picture of him. Notice how he comes across to the left page, but this page is saposed to be a Virgin. I need help to get there so that it used at least impression on this side.

Thanks for any help!

To make this folding thing, she wants us to do, I should do all the definitions on the left, turn right. In this way, they are on the back side of the crease, so on the left side of the link.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your definitions must be on the left after the book is connected, and the examples on the right, they need to appear in these positions when you look at the book in spreads of readers (for example in your consecutive page layout) and printers spread, although the order is mixed.

If the book is eight pages, for example, print booklet will impose it in four printers spread like this (the numbers are the actual physical pages, not necessarily the numbers assigned to them in the numbering options):

8 and 1 (outside of the back and the outside covers)

2 and 7 (inside the front back covers and the Interior)

6 and 3

4 and 5

Note that the numbers are ALWAYS on the left and odd numbers ALWAYS on the right in any pair.

When the paper's back page 2 will be on the back of page 1 and 7 on the back of 8, 4 on the back of 3 and 5 on the back of 6 and after Assembly and folding they will be played in the correct order. Demonstrate this by taking two pieces of paper and fold it in half to make a blank booklet. Now numbered the leaves from on the outside front, setting the pages until you get to the back outside, then open and separate the booklet and unfold the sheets.

You CAN do this kind of taxation by hand by dragging pages autour in the Panel, but you shouldn't really because it is prone to error and printing booklet or a script will do it for you automatically. If you use a script or do it manually you must be sure that you check the "spreads" box in the print dialog box for each Board to be printed together on the sheet. Impose a document for release is a big mistake, as mentioned above. Only the printer is in a position to know how it must be imposed to fit his material (it may need 8 or 16 pages on each side of the paper, or some other number, depending on the size of the page and press), and if you do it incorectly it must cancel or ask you to resubmit the case without imposing because it cannot cancel it and one of these cases will cost you the extra money.

What is the place of white/grey of the seats next to my page numbers in Indesign Pages?

The page consists of a pdf document of the Illustrator it contains, but other pages of the same do not have these squares beside the numbers.

This means that transparency is used on this spread.

It could be a different blending mode than normal usage, reduce the opacity, use effects such as drop shadow or fethered edges or the placement of any AI, pdp, pdf, psd, tiff, or indd files with transparency.

  • How to make an a magazine Indesign pages in a different indesign magazine?

Hi all! First timer here ask a newbie question!

I'm practicing InDesign using free templates of magazine and I came across a problem that I can't solve. Is it possible for me to take pages of magazines of model A and some of them move in model B? In theory, I think this should be easy, but when you are a beginner (as I am), it is not so easy... simplified instructions would be really useful.

    Thank you all in advance!

You can use the tool (Shift + P) page to adjust the dimensions of individual page. But you may have to re - organize the elements on this page.

  • InDesign CS6 questions!

Since we have obtained CS6 here at work, we had any other questions. This is not an upgrade, it is a clean install on a new iMac 10.8.5.

Today begins a new series of questions. InDesign crashes about 2 or 3 times just for fun, then this afternoon when I tried to export a PDF file, I noticed that there is some text missing on my screen. The text boxes were there, but no text was visible. I tried to click inside the text box and select - nothing! I thought that maybe it is just a thing seen so I exported the PDF in any case and the missing text in him also - Gone! I went back to the identity document, selected the text, open, closed box it up - nothing. Then all the sudded when I zoomed in or on a single click (that has happened both ways), as the magic, the text appeared. Now, I can see the text, but I can't select or edit text. One of my boxes of text, I had to redo everything. It is a major pain, see how I just spent the last hours 9 working on a product gatefold brochure 36 x 11 and now I can't change it, but just a part of the text. I checked and without layers are locked and there is nothing on master pages... I don't want to go back and retype all data... It is all the text, the text just random boxes. One of the boxes, the text is just went... There's nothing there.

I deleted the files of Version 8.0 of my cahses and my prefrences file folder but nothing works.

Does anyone else know this kind of questions?

  • Different fonts in InDesign & Pages

Hello. I am new to this forum and InDesign, but I'm having a problem and thought that someone may be able to help.

The problem is with a book that I have built and am printing in InDesign CS4 (for Mac)... Typography (Baskerville) seems different in InDesign it does in Apple's Pages or MS Word. I use the same font to the same size. None are in bold or italic. The difference, which is much more pronounced on the printed page than on the screen, seems to be more often in thick letters. In Pages and words, most of the lines is thin and there is a great contrast between thin and thick lines. In InDesign, the thin lines appear to be thickened and there is less contrast, as if the text were medium weight.

It's disappointing, because I greatly prefer how the text appears in the Pages and Word.

It's a question that someone else has met?

    Thanks for the help,

    Ben

Because InDesign treats the text as a hybrid of the text characters as you know, and also as objects - that is, a character has a way around it (like an outline or border) and a filling inside the way - it is possible to define a line property for the path that is independent of the filling. (Sometimes the path is called "stroke;" a little ambiguous, because apply a line property to a path, such as thickness, color, pattern and a few others, is called "adding a stroke to a path" or simply "make a way".)

What it means for your situation, it's that if the paths of the text characters picked up a stroke property, they will look thicker and blockier. open spaces in letters as o, c, e, and so on, fills in. Select text and check its property STROKE anywhere that the race can be measured, for example the Panel concerned or the color of the characters of the panels property pane Styles of character or paragraph Styles.

The washed out low contrast may be due to the configuration of preferences for the appearance of Black. I think that it is by default in rich black rather than 100% black.

These adjustment differences can occur with the text that was created in another application and place/imported into InDesign.

Search for characters from the STROKE and the appearance of black in InDesign help.

EDIT: I forgot to say that you don't want generally no line (zero points) on the text. The appearance of black is more a matter of personal taste.

  • List (accessible text) in Acrobat CC or CC Indesign page sizes

I often have to do a document with many pages of custom size in Indesign. The 'report' Indesign generates does not provide that a list of page sizes only the size of the original document. Acrobat can show the size of the page in the lower toolbar, but it is not good if you bleed and tim mark etc. There is also the analysis of pdf where I can find the size of the box art, but I can't even copy the text. I need to make a list of each page size to give to clients and printers. It is very laborious to make this page by page and typing in. Y at - it sort of do.

    Hi Angelina,.

Kasyan Servetsky tilts a lot of useful scripts on his website.

One is to check all the pages in an Indesign document have same size.jsx by Hans-Gerd Classen.

It is open and close all the InDesign files in a folder that you select, and will write a report in text format in the event that the script detects a file with different page sizes. The report file is written to the text file in the same folder listing page of the InDesign checked documents sizes:

    http://Kasyan.HO.com.UA/downloads/check_all_pages_within_one_Indesign_document_have_same_s ize.zip

A small defect, that can be fixed in the code, is that if you cancel the Selection of a folder dialog box, the script returns an error. To change this simply insert an extra line of code after:

    var selFolder = Folder.selectDialog();

Here the added line that will leave the script, if you cancel the dialog box:

    var selFolder = Folder.selectDialog();
    if(selFolder == null){exit()};

For usage and editing scripts, see the following instructions:

  • InDesign - newbie question - I can't select several objects...

  • Same image looks different on different Indesign pages.

For some reason when I drop a jpeg in Indesign on the page, it looks fine, but the same image on another page, it appears washed out. These are RGB images, but don't know why a page would look great, but another bad. Any ideas?

It is applied to an entire page, just a few object on this page. Transparency in an image, drop shadow, glow pen... things like transparency. Go to Edition > merger of transparencies... space and switch to Document RGB and it should look normal.

  • Yosemite & NEW installation of InDesign CS6 - questions?

I installed on my 2010 Yosemite MacBook Pro. My boss wants me to buy InDesign CS6 as a new installation. (I've never had any version of InDesign installed on my Mac). I prefer InDesign CC, but he's going for him.

I've seen a few questions where those who have already installed versions of InDesign CS6 have problems with it after the installation of Yosemite.

Given that mine would be a NEW installation of InDesign CS6 on a Mac of Yosemite, I wonder if there are any known issues.

I don't want to buy the software and then have problems.

(I'm not having problems with already installed versions of Photoshop CS6 and Dreamweaver CS6 and Yosemite).

The problems are happening with update installs Yosemite. If you did a clean installation, you should be fine. An upgrade? Anything other than a roll of the dice.

Download the trial version and give it a whirl.

BTW, you could explain to your boss that CS6 will cost $700. A subscription to InDesign will be $ 20 $par month.
