Index corrupted at EACH restart file

The indexing service is GREAT the only problem is that almost every restart, sleep, and the index is corrupt and rebuilt.

With more than 1 M files, it takes hours and is BAD

The Windows Search Service is stopped because there is a problem with the indexer: the catalog is corrupted.

Details:

The content index catalog is corrupted. 0xc0041801 (0xc0041801)

The search service has detected data files corrupted in the index {id = 4810 - enduser\mssearch2\search\ytrip\tripoli\inverted\jetstoragelayer.cpp (940)}. The service tries to automatically correct this problem by rebuilding the index.

  • Search won't work no-index reconstruction ends with "1 file indexed."

Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade edition is installed with a clean install. Indexed search does not work for me at all (except, strangely, menu start)

My video library, for example, consists of two files, one on a non-system partition on an external drive; music library - a folder on the external drive. Documents - on a non-system partition.

All of these files are checked in the control panel of indexing options, but the research never works. UAC is disabled.

    What I tried:

    • rebuilt the index a dozen times. It hangs a little (Meanwhile the \Search\Data\Applications\Windows\Projects\SystemIndex\Indexer\CiFiles folder disappears) then indicates "Indexing" and immediately "indexing is complete. 1 indexed file. The folder appears again.
    • checked that all files extensions are archived in the same options menu. They are.
    • checked, that all necessary records are marked. They are (tried to remove them from the list, then adding again - same result)
    • enabled and disabled the indexing of encrypted files
    • check that the Windows Search service is enabled in services.msc (is)
    • verified that both disks have the possibility to check "enable the content of the files to be indexed" (they do it)
    • do you have automatic troubleshooting (no problem found)
    • index moved from system to system partition expressions

Strangely, search in the start menu and search in unindexed locations work very well.

    Help?

Update: I did index files by disabling the "allow files to be indexed content" in each of the properties of the files. But it's weird for several reasons:

    • in the advanced indexing options 'mp3' is defined to only index the properties; still, it would not be indexed until I did what I did with the file
    • I can understand why she would not index media files (codecs, etcetcetc), but why not index content 'doc '? (which are set to be indexed, but situation is the same with mp3)
    • So my second question is: how the _ made this content index actually work? I heard a lot of different search engines for each type of file. It has to do with the fact that I do not use Windows Media Player and all media is associated with other players? (MPC and Winamp). It goes the same for Office: I use 2010 beta

Update 2: the solution above didn't work as I thought that this was the case. This 16005 only one way (off 16013, but that might be cause of system / hidden) Documents, files have been indexed and so find only there working. In addition, after that I tried to rebuild the index - he returned to 0 files (1 file excluded because I found that the only file that had always been indexed is a reminder (which btw shouldn't be cause there is no sticky notes created on this system, but the counter from 1 to 0 changes exactly after deactivation of Post-it notes. what ____?)). Then I ENABLED "content index" for the Documents folder - and he re-indexed to 16005 files (with no real content search either). Music still wouldn't index, as well as videos.

Update 3: I just did a little experiment: created a new folder and put a video, an mp3 player and a doc there selected for indexing. Initially he indexed all 3 files (although it would not search in the contents of the doc, but oh well, who cares), but after I clicked on "rebuild" he returned to zero and stayed there, saying finished indexing.

This issue has actually led me to a solution. It seems that indexing has been broken because of many anti-virus self-protection. In my case the problem has been resolved by updating of Dr.Web 5.00 to 6.00 (Note: the monitor kenrel, unlike other executable files, for some odd reason is never former; you must completely reinstall all anti-virus using the last distribution)

  • How to insert a photo seen on each PDF file during the creation of a portfolio?

I use Adobe Acrobat Pro 10. I would like to create a portfolio containing 4 3D - PDF files (here in this example presending only 2). The problem is that in the portfolio, he tries to get a preview of the PDF file, but he can't because it is a 3D model, so it appears as follows:

    Clipboard03.jpg

Is it possible to add a photo visualisΘe in the portfolio to each "slide" rather than add another first page that contains a photo for each PDF file? I wish that each PDF file will only contain the 3D model.

    Thank you

The insights generated by Acrobat are automatic, you can not change them unless you write your own browser in Flex.

That said, the preview going to show the image of the poster for a 3D scene, if one is defined. In your case (assuming that the files are the same as the samples you have posted earlier), there is not a picture of the poster. Before you add each file, right-click the 3D annotation, choose Properties, and then "Retrieve the default view poster". Save, and then add it to the portfolio and it will look like this:

  • Each exe file I open me gives a "corrupted file... run chkdsk', but the analysis of virus and malware are clean?

    Hello

I'm completely puzzled here. When I started my computer today I got a notification saying one of the start-up programs exe file has been corrupted. I think that "uhoh". Then my antvirus software is dΘmarre with the same and I get the notification that I'm not running and antivirus. Then I realize counts all exe files I click gives me the error "file is corrupted... Please run chkdsk" appear in the taskbar. At this point, I am thinking virus or malware.

Some programs still work even with the corrupted message, but every exe, whether old or newly downloaded, will give me this corrupt message. Also, when I tried to reinstall my anti-virus, he wouldn't. (I'm under Avast Internet Security Pro).

I found myself downloading AVG free and for some reason any that exe is not being corrupt. So I at least have a running antivirus software now.

I scanned my whole system with AVG with the latest virus definitions, and it sees no virus. I run only Malwarebytes with the latest updates... nothing there either.

Is my computer clean? For me this seems unlikely, but there is something that is not a virus or malicious software that could cause this?

Also, I started in safe mode, and it makes exactly the same thing. Each exe is corrupt when I open it.

I am all of these ideas, except to the reformat.

    Thank you

    Mike

I don't see you mention on running "chkdsk".
    So, do you?

How to run the check disk (chkdsk)... assuming you are using Vista

Start button > Search box, type cmd > look up, right-click on cmd.exe > Run As Administrator >

in the black and white window, at the command prompt flashes, type chkdsk/f/r > press the Enter key.
Note: there is a space between 'chkdsk' and ' / '.
The screen will say something like cannot do it now, but you want to run it on reboot. Click on 'y' as in Yes > press > window cmd of output.

Restart your computer. It will take a while. DO NOT stop the machine. Just wait.

  • Error 1335: Data1.cab corrupt or the source file is damaged and can not download

Recently I formatted my hard drive and installed windows xp professional 64-bit and had no problem installing updates automatic and all my drivers but then a few reboots later, after installation I started to receive an error message saying "the source file is damaged" or "the cab data1.cab file is corrupt and cannot be used. I never had problems like this on my windows xp home edition. Do you know how can I solve this problem?

I tried to install programs on different browsers, removing all my temporary files and choosing a different download location.

    Thank you very much

    Cort

    Hello Cort Adkins,

Issues such as this error, "the source file is corrupted" is usually a RAM problem. If you have several sticks of RAM, removel, restart and test.
It is best to test a bar at a time until you find the one that is causing the error to corruption.

Go to the Start button and in the search box, type in memory. This will bring up a Memory Diagnostic Test.
You can also test RAM using an application like Memtest.

Please answer back with an update and let us know if it helps.

  • Why is disk1.cab corrupted on each software download / install?

Hi, I would be grateful for the help I'm confused on how I can solve this problem.

Whenever I have download new software on the web and run it to install on my computer, whether upward with an error message that is usually based on the "disk1.cab" file is damaged. I uninstalled IE9 I thought it was that which was it corrupts. This is not the case. I tried Firefox and the same thing happpens. I deleted the download folder, and I even tried to register the software on the desktop. Always without success.

It doesn't work if I download the software on another computer (which is also on the same network) and install from a memory stick in my computer, but this is clearly not a long-term solution.

The failure always refer to the "cab" file then the obvious from the point is to look at the installer msi Windows (!).

    The messages are as follows:

Error 1335. The file 'disk1.cab' required for this installation is damaged and cannot be used. This may indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.

    OR

Error 1335. The file 'media1.cab' required for this installation is damaged and cannot be used. This may indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.

Using Vista Home Premiun 32 bit OS, SP2.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi JonConnor,

You can try these steps and see if it helps.

    Method 1:

You can try to save the download to another drive other than drive C: hard disk and see if it workss.

Method 2:  Run Check disk to repair bad sectors on the hard disk.

    a. open the command prompt window by clicking the Start button, tap all programs, accessories, and then right-click command prompt.

    b. at the command prompt, type chkdsk /f and then press ENTER.

Now type in the command chkdsk /r and press ENTER.

    c. restart the computer and check.

Note: CHKDSK would attempt to recover bad sectors on the hard disk, this process there is a chance of DATA loss from this particular area, so you can take a backup before starting the checkdisk.

  • How to configure indexing and search for system files

The search bar that is displayed with Start is not all system files. I chose each setting that I can find so that he can do, but no luck. I don't have indexing turned on for all of the C: drive, and I don't think I want to do. He would not mind indexing all the disk once, and then only put my clues from the user files up-to-date. But I don't think not indexing should be necessary just to find a file by its name, and I don't want to search the contents of the filesystem.

    What should do?

By default, the search box of the start menu would not search the entire disk.  You'll have better luck if you click Start, computer, drive Local (c) and use the search box in top right of the window for the C drive.  Also, before you look, you want all the hidden files to be displayed.  Settings found under described gravityforce, and more if you click on the view tab (on the left), there are two parameters associated with hidden files to find and develop your taste: "Show etc. hidden files" and "Hide protected system files".

I understand that the research of the start menu is for items that are likely to be where ordinary users are putting their stuff (locations of the default folders for photos and so on) and the elements of the Panel and installed software in the programs, and thus the search from the start menu is for when we try only to locate something specific between those things.  When I want to have a thorough search of the entire disk, I click Start, computer, drive Local (c) and research to this place instead.
