  Try to export the file as IDML. If the problem still exists in the new file, try creating a new black document and then use move Pages to move everything except the wrong page on the new document.

• InDesign CS3 - crashes when loading the plugin

  I had zero problems since the purchase of CS3 so far. Now, InDesign won't start for me:

  "Cannot load the PDF file. RPLN plugin. It depends on the agenda of the EPS PAGE. RPLN plugin, which was not able to load. Please check the documentation pertaining to the agenda of the EPS PAGE. RPLN plug-in»

  I did not software changes and I don't remember updates. I tried to reinstall the entire suite. All the other startup programs very well although Illustrator does not accept the last update for some reason any. I have been using InDesign the day before. It gets used very often.

  For the Mac in CS3 version, I had the problem of ID hanging up at plugin startup stage. Nothing worked except the re - install. I did an uninstall first, permissions and a repair of dvd disc, then installed and everything was back to normal.

  I was working on a magazine and clicked to recreate a link to a photo and InDesign suddenly disappeared. I restarted the program and when I opened my account, my master pages have disappeared, and all pages in the page window have been moved to the right and the cut. In addition, some control windows will not open. I think that the program is now corrupted, but I don't know what I have to do. Should I uninstall and reinstall?  Anyone had this happen before?

• InDesign CS3 text panel startup Crash

  Currently using InDesign CS3 on a Vista system has also installed CS4 Production Premium.

  Worked without problem as recently as two days ago. Start InDesign today and it crashes at startup. In fact, it gets past the start screen in the program but hangs after windows loading InDesign. If I load directly from a project file, the file will appear in the InDesign window and then crash. Actual loss here. Tried to delete the preference files without success. It seems to be a problem with the text panel.

  Someone saw on how to fix this?

  Did you use the keyboard shortcut to remove preferences (and get a confiramtion dialog box), or you do it manually, and manually if you follow the instructions here: replace your preferences?

• Index not not totally fulfilling in InDesign CS3 - Desperate!

  I work in InDesign CS3 and have created a book of 10 files.

  I went through every file and highlighted a number of party and you click New page reference in the Index dialog box.

  The part number then appears in the Index panel with the associated page number but when I click on generate indexes and ticked all the boxes and generate the index entries do not appear in the index is created, even if I can see them in the Index panel.

  It seems to be pages of information that are not.

  Can someone tell me why it does this and what I can do to fix this?

  Now, I've noticed that I'm going through the index and type in the information that the page numbers are wrong.

  Sorry for this question (and my terrible English, incidentally), I'm a javascript noob and I know when I reached my limits.

  Well, I'm taking a set of paragraph and character style groups styles, they are placed in hundreds of InDesign documents (which cannot be regarded as a book). As much as I've tried (thanks to the invaluable help of previous messages in this forum), I was able to move a style to a group and change its position within the group, inside root-level, or between the groups. But it is not matter how I try, I don't know which move reference should I try in case I want to take each style outside the style group and place them after their original level group, folder style [Root].

  Well, tried a few things and I really weird results!

  1. you can move a style within its group.

  2. you can move a style to one group "to" the other, but it will appear "inside" of this style. I got my style of test as a subdivision of [standard paragraph], using index #1. By the index 0 # InDesign ([no paragraph Style]) crashed.

  3. you can duplicate the style, but then you get a copy of the same group. Still no luck.

  4 finally! What is the parent of a paragraph style?

  move the style out of the Group and at the end of the list in the document. I don't think it's possible to move directly to a specific position in the main style list - you first need to move a group, then move it around in its own list.

  (Sorry if this has found its way to the bad advice Forum: I can't seem to find a way to the appropriate InDesign CS4 'Community' to publish it in!)

  My Mac of InDesign CS4 version 6.0.6 version started crashing when you try to print.

  The Crash log shows that the individual has crashed the thread in order to always include the line:

  com.macromedia.Flash Player.authplaylib 0x1c5ac2dd ExternalPlayer_Initialize + 1864739

  .. which is repeated twice, with different similar numbers just before and after "ExternalPlayer_Initialize".

  I guess that there is a problem with InDesign calling "macromedia. '" Flash Player"instead of Adobe Flash Player, but I don't know where or how to change the words 'macromedia '. Flash Player"to encourage the program runs correctly.

  Note: The program has been installed on a Mac that had disappeared and was found and returned, but in the meantime we would have bought a Mac replacement. InDesign has been uninstalled and then some Mac initially lost, and a previous full backup of this Mac was then restored on the new Mac, so that was a complete copy of the original (.. so respect for restrictions on use..)

  After that the program was restored on the new Mac, it prints more.

  Any help or suggestions, please?

• InDesign CS3 - Photoshop CS5 conflict?

  I want to upgrade Photoshop CS4 CS5, but am concerned about a report on the luminous landscape Forum where a Member claims that its unusable InDesign CS3 install PS CS5 made.  According to him, "" Photoshop CS5 modifies some files of database type in common files > Adobe diectories, that totally prevent Indesign similarly start.   Has anyone seen other similar reports or had this experience?  Now I'm working on a project where I am forced to use InDesign CS3 (and not a newer version) so cannot take a chance that the new Photoshop will be screw things with ID3.

  You don't mention your operating system. I just installed the trial on my test XP workstation and indeed had a breakdown of the AMT subsystem - you must reinstall closed warning and ID CS3.

  I have downloaded and run the Flexnet http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=3750&fileID=3528 patch and all is well.

  I don't know what all this patch, since apparently it's a reapir for Acrobat 8 running Vista, but if memeory serves it reliable to resolve this particular error on all versions of Windows with any version of Acrobat.

• Lost the ability to update library items in InDesign CS3

  I created several libraries in InDesign CS3.  I've always been able to update library items by clicking on the item to be updated, then right-click on the item in the library, it would provide a choice to "update the library item. Since yesterday, this option was not available.  I can't imagine all that I've done that would have made this disappearance of choice.  Any ideas on how to find this option?

• Using InDesign CS3, cannot "file > place" to insert anything

  I use InDesign CS3 on a Windows XP computer. When I go to file > place to insert anything (image, PDF, text, whatever), the dialog box import a VERY QUICK flashing (if fast I see nothing but the shape of the box) and crashes then InDesign. Also having the same problem with file > open. All the other options under the file menu seem to work well.

  I tried scrapping the preferences file, but that did not help. I have a 15 page PDF that I need to get into InDesign immediately and do not understand anything.

  Paste is NOT a good option for anything other than the simple vector art you would like to keep editable within the code.

  Just because you've seen the average flash dialog box doen't it did not move off the screen or behind something else. Try to hit the ESC key and see if ID wake. Which would indicate that the dialogue was still active and accepted the command "Cancel". If it works, the problem becomes how to find dialog box.

  When the dialog box disappears try pressing Alt + space, then M, bar which should activate the arrow keys to move a dilog which is at the edge of the screen. Press the arrow keys 20 or 30 times in one direction and then twice more that the other way to see if you can find the dialog box disable one edge or the other of the screen - it is just try it and see approach. Opeing a dialog box in Photoshop and resize, he was also known to cure this kind of behavior from time to time.

  And if you have multiple monitors, try to run at native resolution, if they are flat screens.
