  Currently using InDesign CS3 on a Vista system has also installed CS4 Production Premium.

  Worked without problem as recently as two days ago. Start InDesign today and it crashes at startup. In fact, it gets past the start screen in the program but hangs after windows loading InDesign. If I load directly from a project file, the file will appear in the InDesign window and then crash. Actual loss here. Tried to delete the preference files without success. It seems to be a problem with the text panel.

  So, random, my InDesign CC has decided to refuse to run because it is not "allowed", properly.

  

  I tried to remove all apps from my Mac, including the creative desktop and even cloud using the Adobe Creative Cloud Tool Cleaner to completely erase the traces of it.

  After hours of waiting for re - install I get the same annoying message again!

  Photoshop behaves itself, Adobe Edge animate behaves but now Illustrator just refuses to stay open and automatically stops by itself.

  Are other apps CC outside Indesign CC licensed. Do you have any previous version of Adobe installed on your machine, if not then please navigate to/Library/Application Support / Adobe and rename SLCache and SLstore in SLCache.old/SLstore.old. Start Indesign and try to activate.

  What I have to do is to create a document of 36 "x 72", paste a chart of 100 DPI at the same size of gimp and save in format PDF. Looks like it would be a simple task, but here I am, come to beg for help.

  I was able to:

  InDesignCS4 open

  Start a new document

  When I went to change the size of the document in document format... What is this? P0? where is inches?

  Since it is a 8.5 "x 11" sheet of paper I did some calculations and put in a number that would correspond with 36 "x 72" "

  When I pasted the chart which was 100 dpi and 36 x 72 "it was too big.

  I can record on the PDF, I tested for this.

  When I went to find answers in the index of the 'help' I found that is sorely lacking.
  My guess is that my brain is wired differently so the creators of this program.

  Somehow Adobe Indesign guru could give me instructions to do the most basic tasks?

  Use file > Place, don't paste graphics. Collage will get a low resolution preview.

  Default measures are picas, but you can use whatever measures you like.

  I'm guessing that your graphic is too large because you stuck on a page that was too small. There are 6 picas to every inch, so a page 36 x 72 "would be 216 x 432 p p. If your chart is still too large, you can resize it right down. You can even set the frame 36 x 72 (or what you want it to be) then object > adjustment > fit content proportionally.

  My 13 "MacBook Pro (mid-2009), running Snow leopard (10.6.8), has finally given up and won't start.

  I tried to boot into SafeMode several times, but the loading bar does not move and the laptop just completely stops.

  I also tried to boot in single user mode with the command fsck - fy, but this results in the following:

  I guess that means that there is something wrong with the hard disk and some corrupt files?

  My problem is that I have no time machine backups, so I would like to know if it is possible to do something to get to the top and running.

  I really need help on what I've been driving myself crazy trying to figure it out!

  Boot from the DVD and run the check/repair disk utility and repair permissions until you get no errors.  Reformat the hard disk using Disk Utility/Erase Mac OS extended (journaled), then click on the Option button and select GUID. Then re-install the operating system.

  When you restart, use Setup Wizard to restore your data.

  Since installing Firefox 9.0.1 YESTERDAY evening on my iMac, which is running OSX v. 10.5.8, Firefox hangs now every few minutes.   1. you can call Lenovo and request to do the repair if your camera is still under warranty.

  2. If you don't mind losing any of your data and custom programs, you can try to restore your system back to factory default by pressing the NOVO button (located next to the plug) while the unit is turned off.   You may have a bad file that confuses the firmware as it tries to start.

  If you have tried all THE above so it looks like you have a corrupted profile.

  Try these to erase corruption and missing/damaged file system repair or replacement.

  2. start - type in the search - box COMMAND find top - RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN
