• Impossible to update data XControl typedef

  I changed the typedef XControl data to a cluster. It worked. Then it became clear that I had to change again. I replaced the structure by an INT. LabView now tells me that it cannot update the new type definition without properly preserve the default values.

  Usually, you go to the control, right click and select "review and update... "Unfortunately the data into data on the façade VI are grayed out and not available. Even if I activate "Show Control/Indicator" on the block diagram I can't right click of the control.

  I had difficulty with this from time to time, so I created a tool to fix it.

  Copy the VI attached in C:\... \National Instruments\LabVIEW 2015\project\

  If LV is running, quit & restart.

  With the troublesome VI, select in the menu Tools,-> reapply TypeDef changes to all CTL on FP

  Note: This VI is set to run when open.

My problem now is: Outside the Xcontrol, when I use it in an application, does not change the true value (I unbundle the cluster and put a Boolean indicator)-so what I am doing wrong?

  I am writing an XControl which works fine by itself and does what I expect it to do, but as soon as I test and put it in a small program with a while loop, it is not properly updated its appearance more. To be more precise:

  

  So this is an example for the switch to a camera.   I created the Xcontrol for the property of the graph. I just want to test. I created vi with two Xcontrol (control of one of them, is second indicator). I changed some controls of Xcontrol. • XControls, XProblems, of XML parsing

  I use a motor of Action (functional overall) to keep a reference to a DOM Document, with several States to manipulate the document.  I call the engine action XControls on Init and Uninit VI, so that there are XML elements that are added/removed by the engine of the action when the XControl is added or deleted a VI.  I am able to add many copies of the XControl without problems.  Often I can go on adding and removing XControls several times.  Randomly, however, I get a 15 warning associated with the XML parser, indicating that the Document DOM resource is not valid.  From this moment, I'm more able to make changes to the document - I can view the XML associated with the DOM using XML Document to get, but am not able to manipulate it in any way.  It is as if the object or reference has corrupted.

  Y at - it a known bug related to this?  If I run the motor of action independent of the XControl I don't get this problem.  XControls tend to corrupt the references in external screw for the XControl?

  I'm using LabVIEW 8.6.  Thanks for any help.

  It turns out that it is not necessarily a bug.  The problem arises from the way LabVIEW automatically cleans references for the screws that are no longer active.  I called the overall functioning of the XControls in the Init and Uninit capacity live after the creation and deletion of multiple copies of one the XControl on my front, LabVIEW must have decided that I used is no longer the global functional and empty its references VI.

  To resolve this problem, I now initialize the functional overall in a hidden 'main' VI which runs as long as I have any XControls on the front panel.  The case put the functional overall in a calling tree remains active rather than one that is more sporadic, such as the call XControl VI tree.

  I can understand why there was a problem, given the unusual delivery XControls.

  Thanks for following, I hope this helps others when generating XControls - they are really not so bad once you get used to their strange behavior.

• Setting the properties of elements of façade in XControl to a VI that uses the XControl

  Hi all

  I'm new to XControls and I try to use them to make a generic digital indicator that fit into a matrix of waveforms of a similar measure and allow the user to display the first value of a waveform, it chooses by selecting the name of the desired channel in the waveform table. I have the XControl work, with a ring filled automatically with the NI_ChannelName of the input waveform array fields and the value of the ring being used to index the waveform table to select the appropriate data.

  What I want to do next is automatically set the value of control of ring in the XControl to the value that the user has selected the last time he ran the VI that uses the indicator. However, the properties of the control ring do not seem to be accessible from the VI that uses the XControl, and none of the XControl General properties seem to be accessible from the front VI in the XControl. The value of the ring is not part of the entrance of DataIn cable waveform table, so I don't have a good method to pass data to the control of the ring outside of what is in this table of waveform. I might add the value in the waveform table, if this helps, but indicators XControl do not transmit their return DataOut appellant VI to allow me to record the user selected value.

  Is there a good way to read and write the properties of façade elements in an XControl of VI that uses the XControl?

  In your State cluster typedef container, include a reference to a control of the ring.

  In your vi of façade, in the case of change of Direction, create a reference to your ring and connect to a plan by which he sends out the view state.  Also be sure to write true to the status changed in the result of the Action.

  In your xctl, select New-> property.  Name it after the property in the ring that you want to access.  Use the view clustered State (in your new property VI) to access the reference to the ring; son of a property node.  Change the control value in the appropriate type & connect to the property you want.

  Be sure to connect the path error through everything that might cause an error.

  When you drop an instance of the xctl and create a property from this node, your new property will be available.

• Problem with XControl and remote debugging

  Can you make a connection of remote debugging to an EXE or DLL that uses an XControl?  So far, my experiences would indicate the answer is no, but I find that surprising and have seen no earlier mention of it in bug reports or in the forums.  When trying to connect to the DLL with XControl, I get the error 'fatal error occurred during the operation, close the connection' dialog box.  I'm just connection of the local machine, not on the network.

  My real application is a rather elaborate DLL that is called from a Visual Studio 2008 C++ application and launches the LV panels dynamically.  I realized that my DLLs that include panels with XControls do not allow debugging remotely for you connect while dll without XControls works very well.  It is the only difference between the two projects.

  I've simplified it to a simple test program that merely updates an indicator in a timed loop.  I created two versions of the VI, which updates a digital single and the other who updates an XControl (which itself is a simple digital-only model change XControl of dropping a digital indicator on the FP of façade and update a local variable to it in the event of modification of data).  Then I built these two screws in the exe files and tried to make a debugging connection to each after the launch of the EXE.  Of course, the application with the XControl Gets the above mentioned error dialog box.  Any ideas on why this is happening?

  I have attached the sample project that generates the two EXEs.  One is called debugging with XControl Test and another test of debugging without XControl.  My worm. LV is 9.0f2.  Here's the very simple diagram showing the problem:

• XControl not keeping pace

  I'm trying to use an Xcontrol to do a graphical indicator with a few more features than the chart base in Labview (as the automatic label scale X update and there, turning off autoscaling when the user zooms in on the chart... updated such things)

  The problem I am facing right now is that if I send data very quickly to the Xcontrol, he bufferize all this 'change data' event and treat them fairly slowly. I find myself with an Xcontrol who still works although hosting vi is stopped! In this case, my chart is always updated while hosting vi is stopped.

  How can I avoid this problem?

  I had exactly this problem in the past.  It is known and it is not really due to fix anytime soon.

  You can ease the pain a bit by directly modifying the XControl xml file and adding the line

  Please go HERE and vote for my idea fix this behavior once and for all.  Apparently the graphics NOR the same behavior, but the problem is with XControls that time individual loop can get VERY slow depending on what is done.

  I create an XControl which has a DBL indicator.  I created a VI for the Xcontrol reading get the text of the label of the instance the XControl by getting the Refnum of the State of the container, wiring to a Ctl property node and read the Label.Text property property.  Which works very well.

  Now, I would like to be able to programmatically control the format display and precision for each instance of the XControl.  I created read format and precision properties in the XControl project, but I'm unable to set these values in the corresponding screw Xcontrol write.  I get the Refnum of the State of the container, but a Ctl refnum does not provide access to the properties display format or precision because not all controls have these properties.  If I cast to a more specific type of digital reference before you wire it to a node property, I can wire to the properties of Format and precision, but I get a runtime error saying

  "Error 1057 occurred to the property node in Test digital X Control.vi

  LabVIEW: Type mismatch: object cannot be cast to the specified type.

  You take the bad reference.

  The State of the container returns the reference for the XControl on the payable VI.

  You must add the reference to the control on the face before of the façade VI.

  I remember reading somewhere on the Apple site in recent years on some models of Chinese iPhone with this capability. No other iPhones display this and there is no way to enable it. I can't find the article which includes this information.

• Why my email with indicator does not appear in my Inbox mailbox "tagged"?

  I don't know if it's a matter of iMac or a matter of BONES... it was happening until I upgraded to Sierra and used El Capitan.  The problem started about a month or two ago.

  I am able to email from flag that I want to keep at hand and my box (in the Favorites bar) shows 'spotted' by email that I have flagged 167 messages... but when I click on the Flagged mailbox on the sidebar, it is empty.  Although just after I upgraded to Sierra, with message indicator began to appear in the box to the letters of the sidebar, but now shows nothing.  I used to be able to click on a flag at the top of the Inbox of mail and it would show all of my email with an indicator, but with the new configuration, it's gone.

  Then someone can help me figure what to do to show my email with indicator, I would be happier.  It's really a pain to have to scroll through all the mail in my Inbox to find flagged messages.  I know I can do a search, but sometimes I do not remember what to look for!

  Navigate to the folder of the user library. This folder is hidden by default. In the unhide: select the Finder in the Dock. Less go in the Menu bar > hold down the Option key and you will see the library.

  • Access to containers.  Drag the com.apple.mail desktop folder

  • Navigate to the Mail folder.

  Select the V4 > MailData folder.

  Delete all files in MailData with envelope in the name. (or 3)

  Open mail and it will re-index your files and create a new folder in containers. You can remove the container if you are satisfied with the results.

  BTW, are one of your POP accounts? If so, I suggest strongly convert you in IMAP.

• input source indicator does not

  Hello

  I have a problem with the input source indicator - when I change my language (shortened KB), it changes OK, but the light stays on English.

  Searched options in system preferences, but nothing helped.

  You can see in the attached screenshot: I went in Hebrew, this works very well, but the indicator is in English.

  Someone has any idea how to solve this problem?

  Try to set up a new user account and see if you have the same problem when logged into that.
