Indicators of Type HD in XP?

XP Pro SP3

My pc has a mixture of IDE and SATA drives. Seen through windows Explorer or disk management, cannot determine which drive is which architecture. Is there any windows XP interface that identifies the type of material for each hard drive mounted?

Hello

In Device Manager, the disk drivers will list the model of the device that is present on the system and it will end with a ATA device. That means that the hard drive that is present is to ATA, it may be a SATA (Serial ATA) or PATA (Parallel ATA) device.

Outside the Device Manager, you can check in system information that the drive is an ATA or an IDE. Follow the steps mentioned below.

a. click on Start menu and type msinfo32 in the start search box and press on enter.

b. click on components and then click storage.

c. click on the drive and it will give you all the information of the type of the device that is installed on the system.

  • HOW TO GET THE REFERENCE OF THE INDICATOR TYPE DEF CLUSTRE

    Have 2 quastions:

    1. do you have a def boolian indicators culster type.

How to extract individual references, so I can pass for sub vi.

    2. given that the bollian indicators lock its value.

I can do a boolian indicators table that will keep its value pool passes for sub vi.

Why do you want a single reference to a Subvi? Pass reference of cluster.

Indicators to keep the value which has been attributed to them. What do you mean by indicators don't snap not its value.

  • problem with changing the order of tab on tab control

    Hello

I am aware that the same question has been asked over three years - but I can't yet find the problem in what I'm doing...

Description: I have two controls tab, A tab with three tab and tab B with two controls on a Panel. For the following discussion, tab B is of no interest. Each tab control has several numerical indicators, of type integer and double. Now, I want to add a fourth tab control to A tab. This method works.

Following and problematic stage, in the Publisher of the IUR I select the new tab (most right) and move two positions to the left. It's still ok until I try to display a numeric value of order of tab 3 (the new tab control is left to it). I get an error in calls to SetCtrlAttribute, complain about an invalid control ID... However, I didn't touch any control over the tabs, or add a new control. In addition, I did not touch the generated include file... Visual inspection did not show any changes in the include file (the new tab control is listed only when certain controls are added)

Posting numbers on the first/far left tab control work only on 3 and 4 which are suitable for the new (and still empty) new tab will generate this error. Adding a control to the new label does not change the bahavior.

    Help is appreciated!

    Wolfgang

    Wolfgang,

When you get the handle for your tab using GetPanelHandleFromTabPage:

    GetPanelHandleFromTabPage (MainPanelHandle, PANEL_TAB, 0, & TabHandle);

the third parameter is an index for the specific tab you want to address.  If you change the order of the tabs, you can change the index, too.  For example, assume that you have a digital control on the third tab from left to right.  You want to assign some value, so this, you:

    GetPanelHandleFromTabPage (MainPanelHandle, PANEL_TAB, 2, & TabHandle);

    SetCtrlVal (TabHandle, TAB_numMyNumeric, 1);

Now, you add a new tab to the left of the tab with the digital contorl.  The new tab is now index 2 and the original tab is index 3.  When you call:

    GetPanelHandleFromTabPage (MainPanelHandle, PANEL_TAB, 2, & TabHandle);

you get the handle to the new tab.  There is a control with the same ID as TAB_numMyNumeric, so that you get a runtime error.

Personally, I like to use an enumeration to my tabs so I can keep the lines:

    enum {MY_FIRST_TAB, MY_SECOND_TAB, MY_THIRD_TAB,...};

So if I redesign the tabs or add a new one I just re - order enums and everything works fine.  Also, I used the same names in my constants of tab, to help keep things straight:

    GetPanelHandleFromTabPage (MainPanelHandle, PANEL_FIRST_TAB, MY_FIRST_TAB, & TabHandle);

  • best way to control a large number of controls and indicators

IM building a façade with 46 orders and lights, all of type boolean.

the logic is control > send order series > receive > indicator set. I consider part of my façade (with 2 sets of control and indicator) and my block diagram.

I have to be able to control programmatically and through the front panel individually the status and indicators, or all at once (for example to reset the both). This should be done from the tab they are and another.

thought property nodes but still I would have 46 + 46 of them. same for local variables.

y at - there I way to refer to a control/indicator by its label (string) and change its value?

wouldn't be easier just to create two Boolean tables which maintain their Boolean value?

Please advise me on what options I have. I'm new to labview.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Use the indicator binary enum in the public Service but allow several indicators

    Hello

I have a few clusters that contain enums where the user can select a value among many others. However, sometimes these enumerations are binary indicators and I want the user to be able to select more than one indicator at the same time, which will then be DSB. What I usually do is to have a table with the data type as enum, and I simply OR all the elements in the array.

I was wondering if anyone has a better suggestion how to do that?

    Thank you

    M

Use a listbox control, and then leave several items to select.  It returns an array containing the indexes of all selected items.  You can use it to find the values of mean to you every element of another table.  Or if the order of the elements in the array is just right, you can make a 2 ^ math function table and add the resulting table.

  • update of the cluster indicators

Hi, I put a bunch of indicators in a cluster. Is it possible to update these indicators without going through another group of the same type with controls that are associated with indicators?

    Thank you.

You can simply create a room of your cluster of the indicator and use it as a prototype for entry. See attached vi

  • Control of data using multiple thermocouples via indicators and the waveform in real-time

I apologize in advance for this question is probably a bit simple but I'm all new to labview and the forum and could use some advice. I have a CompaqDAQ with two 9213 16 modules of track and I'm trying to read in 30 thermocouples in a waveform, but also display 30 indicators so I can mark each indicator with the thermocouple for real-time tracking. Each thermocouple corresponds to a specific location and it is essential that the interface has an accurate indication or a label for each of them. I wonder if there is an easy way to do this in addition to split the signal and have 30 thermometers on my diagram? Perhaps a table any? If I use a table to create 30 thermometers, the DAQ assistant automatically sorts the thermocouples according to ascending numerical order. For example, would be the indicators of first and second on my interface automatically assigned to channels a0 and a1 of the first module, or should I do it manually? Even for the waveform?  Thank you very much!

PS - Do not know if this message had need of more details, but let me know if more information is needed, and I'll give you!

I see that you use the DAQ Assistant to create your task.  Now I understand why you may have about labelling.  It is easy of the seller NOR spiel booting...  But in any case, you already have a task to the MAX instead of use the DAQ Assistant?  The interface is similar and there may be a step or two, but your end application will be more effective and you will have more options with your data and properties.  For example, I tried to update the names of physical channel in the DAQ Assistant installation program, that it let you do, but it propagates that change forward to waveform chart legend.  Also, I don't know any property for this dynamic data type node, although I never use it either.  I suggest the setting up of your task and channels, Max if you'd give it a go.

Since I thought I didn't really takes you all the way with you help, I wrote another one.  It uses a cluster, even if it's a bit barbaric.  I thought that there was a more eloquent way to do by changing labels, but I could not it works as I had expected.

  • I have a problem with the previous results of LEDs and indicators of compensation

I'm working on a proper VI for my building project, but there is a problem... The project here is to define the occurrence of the error and the error type to decide what actions are required to protect the circuit. This isn't a problem here...

The problem is when I run the VI for the first time... Everything is good and I got what I need... But when I run it after that... The new results to come out with the results of the first round... So my problem is with the previous results of LEDs and indicators of compensation

Hope my question is clear and not confusing

Well, show us a code instead. How do you call the VI?

Have you tried the option: "properties of the VI... run... clear the flags when called?

  • Where is my def of semaphore type?

Hi all, I have an embarrassing problem involving a strict type of semaphore def indicator. I use LV2011 SP1.

I recently loaded several versions of a job that a colleague developed approximately 10 years on my computer. I did experiments with the latest version, mainly as an exercise.

Naturally, I have backups of all the code, and I was working was actually a special, renamed copy just for safety.

In total there are 6 separate labview projects covering several generations of employment, and they all ran.

One of the things I was looking at was the use of two semaphores. These are used by getting a semaphore and then put it in a hidden flag. When the semaphore is necessary a ref to the indicator and a property node are used to retrieve the semaphore to acquire and release. LabVIEW actually creates a strict type def, instead of a clear indicator when you do this. This type def comes from the Semaphor.llb in the folder of the usefulness of the VI library.

In my experiences I had disconnected the def type indicator, turning it into a clear indicator. He broke the VI, so I tried to undo the disconnection. It did not work. No problem, I thought.

I closed the VI without saving it and reopened it expects to find the def type back in place. It wasn't. I then looked at the suite to find why the VI was broken and discovered that all references semaphore had disappeared from the block diagram. In fact, missing the referees for the two semaphores (I changed only one).

I wasn't always too concerened because I had a lot of back ups that me is outsourced. But when I looked more VI, I discovered that each copy of the VI in each project had now broken in exactly in the same way.

Then I the repaced with our backup system backups, but once I ran all projects has been broken in the same way.

Then, I took out an old laptop with labview installed and ran back up to this point, without any problem.

I then went back to my original broken VI experimental and replaced missing officials with new ones for normal semaphore flags and the VI is represented.

If I create a new semaphore and the indicator on the laptop, it creates a strict type def, which seems to be OK. But if I do it on my computer it creates only a normal indicator.

It seems as if somehow labview has lost the ability to connect to the def of type in the semaphor. Bachelor of law (it's still there, I checked). I also tried to create a regular flag and replace it with the type def in the llb. I find the type definition, but it cannot replace with it.

Another thing I tried was to create the type indicators def in a VI on the laptop and then copy the VI on my computer. Indicators became normal on my computer.

I'm sure that if I uninstall and reinstall Labview things will just come, but I hope that there is an easier and faster way. For me, it was suggested that somewhere there is an option to choose what type of indicator is the product which I changed somehow, but if so I can't find it!

I hope that someone will help solve this problem.

    Jonathan.

I haven't used semaphores, so I'm not familiar with this file individual .llb.  I'm a little surprised that it will create strict typedefs.

My thought is that sometimes you accidentally changed the status of this reference typedef and got it rerecorded in the .llb file.  Look at the dates of files of the semaphor.llb on your computer problem and which behaves very well.  Who could tell you.

Try to copy the file semaphor.llb from the PC during the work at the computer that is having problems.  (Do it with all your files and LabVIEW closed just to be sure there is no accidental error cross-linking).

  • To change the data type of control/led

Is it possible to change the underlying data type of the indicator or a control?  I a VI that I want to use that accepts any type of data (essentially data varriant) and display it accordingly.  I have different controls selected to display data of different types in the sense of data vs decimal boolean data vs integer, but certain types of data will be of type uint32 vs int16 vs uint64 etc..  Is it possible to programmatically change the data type, so I need to have all the combinations of indicators?

The short answer is no. The long answer is that LabVIEW has not 'generic' controls that allow you to display any type of data (apart from the variant of course). There are several ways to address this problem, but all require you as the programmer to manage explicitly each type of data you could possibly meet. Here are some possibilities (in no particular order), please let me know if you would like to help a particular implementation of these.

    1. Force incoming data to variant, use the info option to determine the data type of the original data in a case structure (open G can do this VERY easy), have an indicator on the front panel for each type of data you want and hide those unused
    2. Use a sub-group of experts on the front panel and sub - vi call of to view specific types (that lends itself very well to encapsulate your data in a class and you leave OOP allows to expand into different types of data)
    3. Use a tab with the variant (similar to option 1) control put each kind of data in its own tab, enable only the current
    4. Do a Control-X to accept a Variant option 1 under the hood
    5. Just as a string of format and use a string indicator

That's all I can think of right now, once again, let me know if you need more information/help on the options.

  • List of controls and indicators

    Hello

Maybe I forgot something very simple.

I am trying to clean my overloaded façade and edit it in different tabs. I have a lot of controls and indicators and property notes to make them visible or not. To make sure that I don't forget everything in the new façade, I would like to have a list of all the controls and indicators used in my application. A solution would be to create a new local go, select and write down the list complete, what is shown. Next would be to type all names in an excel sheet to a checklist that must be displayed where and when on the new front cover. Is there a better way, which is to export the list of Labview in a text file?

As... of the controls and indicators how?

With the help of the tabs is certainly a good idea to help organize your front panel, but if you use the tabs just so that you can have hundreds of controls and indicators on your front maybe there is something else you could do to improve your code similar to the use of several different types of controls (tables (, clusters, etc.).

But to directly answer your question, Yes, there is a way to get the list of all the controls on a panel like this:

    hope this helps

Is it possible to program a certain file type VI automatically? (. CSV, for example).

  • Indicators of compensation each running program

I know there are a lot of suggestions offered on this forum about how clear the flags whenever a program runs. I tried everything I found on this forum site. I really need help here. I thought go on Preferences VI, then running, then clear indicators when it is called would do the trick... but it doesn't work.

I write my code. I know it's badly written, but my only priority now is to get flags to clear. Any help would be appreciated! Bravo to all.

  • Type of output USB 6501 digital IO

Hi, I'm new to this software.

    I use an e/s digital NI USB-6501 24 lines.

    I physically wired PIN0.7:0 to PIN1.7:0, then all PORT0 go to PORT1

Click these buttons to table of Boolean, to set the output levels of PORT0, then having the signal wires to PORT1, which is then set accordingly, and then I want to ouput PORT1 using DAQ Assistant2 in:

    (1) an array of Boolean LED

    (2) a string indicating the value of the port in hexadecimal.

    THE PROBLEM:

The DAQ Assistant2 outgoing data type is "table 1 d to unsigned long. The entry of the table that should receive it is "1-d array of boolean.

So, there is a data type mismatch.

How can I make this work? As you can see, I tried to place converters, I tried several converters, but I don't know what to do. Advice?

Stupid DAQ Assistant.  I have no idea what is thinking want to a table.  Personally, I just use the real DAQmx API.  At least then you can say what is happening and it has less overhead.

    A couple of other things:

You must move your controls and indicators for the acquisition of data inside the loop values.  In this way they can be updated at each iteration of the loop.

Really, you must add a stop button.  You need a way to cleanly stop your VI and do not use the button abandon in the toolbar.
