inductive proximity sensor with DAQ

Hello world

I'm planing to connect my inductive proximity sensor with DAQ of NOR-9215 but won't be sure this thing work perofectly. Also I do not know how to connect my sensor with the BNC Terminal.

The sensor that I use is Automation direct AM9-05-1A with a voltage of 10 to 30 VDC and output voltage of 0-5 VDC range.

I want DAQ to monitor my output signal of the sensor.

It seems that you have two choices.

1. cut the connector from the sensor and cable drivers appropriate for a piece of coaxial cable with a BNC connector plug (and separately to the power supply).

or

2. get a socket that fits the plug sensor cable and its terminals to wire to a coaxial with BNC Plug cable and power supply.

    Hello world

I need to get the output signal of a proximity sensor inductive PNP no. I have a cDAQ-9188 and NI 9215 module but I'm not sure if it is possible to get the signal with this module. If this isn't the case, I would like to know what type of module, I need.

    Thank you.

    Enrique,

You have to think in terms of current flow as well as votlage drops.

The sensor behaves like a switch. It connects to the output line (the one you have shown connected to R1) on line V + when the target is detected. If you had no resistance, it would short-circuit the power of V + V - short. The likely result would be the destruction of the probe.  By connecting the R1 and R2 as shown below some current will flow from the output of the sensor on the ground when the target is present. This will cause a voltage drop across R2 which is then measured by the NI 9215.  The values of R1 and R2 are chosen so that the maximum voltage across R2 is less than 10 V limited the DAQ hardware. For a 10 V power R1 could be zero ohms (a wire in place so the resistance). If the power supply is 24 v and R1 is 1000 ohms, R2 would be 1500 ohms.

Given that the negative side of the entrance to the DAQ hardware is on the negative (grounded) power delivery, setting single ended input should be.

  • The connection of sensors with rs232 to the computer output

In my project I want to display & connect the results/readings of different types of sensors (RTD, barometer, HR sensor, proximity sensor) with rs232 outputs in the Labview software.
To do this, can I simply connect them to my computer using the usb-rs232 converter or do I need a data acquisition equipment to convert analog signals into digital signals?
If so, please suggest a device suitable for my requirement. Im trying to keep things simple and complete this project within a limited budget

    Thanks in advance

Sensors with outputs RS-232 already have the analog-digital conversion.  You just need the USB RS232 converter. Many people have reported on the Forums that converters with FTDI chips seem to have less problems than other materials.

You should also the Protocol of communication with manufacturers of sensors to correctly set the parameters of the serial port and to decode the results.

  • How can I test the proximity sensor in an Iphone?

My husband what's Iphone seems to have a proximity sensor that does not work, but I cannot say with certainty, when I talk with him on the phone to his ear is constantly hitting the keys and trying to dial numbers.  What can I do to check if the proximity sensor is bad and/or repaired?

Record a voice memo, and then listen to it through the earphone speaker. If it does not, the screen will be black when you put it next to your face (or if you cover the upper part of the screen with your hand).

  • Proximity sensor does not

I own a motorola defy... a few days ago, my proximity sensor no longer works... let explain me the situation:

every time I have place a call, the screen empties automatically until I place it on my ear and I have to use the power button to turn it on, and once I do it stays on even if I place it on my ear so I have to press the power button to turn off the screen when the call... again I thought it might be because of problems with proximity sensor , so I downloaded Android market app sensor. In the application reading proximity sensor is stuck to 1.2 in. and does not update even if I place my finger on it. My phone still under warranty should I pick up my phone for Service?

You have a screen protector on it?

I have one on my own and my phone is exactly like yours, but when I remove the screen protector it works perfectly.

It's a problem so if it persists, you should take service.

  • temperature sensor with the acquisition of data usb-6009

    Greeting

I want to use a sensor with usb-6009 to save the variation of body temperature about 15 minutes and then use these data in labview.

If you please you can advise me with the best low-cost use and the way/circuit sensor connect it to the usb-6009.

    Hi ba7soun,

If you can use with USB-6009 LM35 depends on the range of output voltage of the sensor. I understand that it requires a 5V supply with respect to the ground, which you can provide to the USB-6009 (more than 200 my should not come from the USB-6009).

The maximum range of the USB-6009 is - 10V to + 10V, while the minimum range is - 1V to + 1V, also probably the output signal of the LM35 will be in this range. What you need to do is to compare the full range of the output signal with the range of the DAQ divided by 2exp (14) (because it is a 14 bit ADC) and ensure that the first is much more than the latter.

  • Charm: (0.2.6005) proximity sensor

I have problems with my proximity sensor, sometimes, I saw that if I move the phone a bit my ear and bring it back again the call disconnects.

    Someone else who is watching?

I just tested and have not run into this issue. I tried to move the phone from my ear to a different distance and return to my ear and no problem. One thing I've seen, is that when you move the phone to your ear, the screen lights up and the end call button is right there next to your face. Perhaps you have been accidentally pressing this button while the phone was not fast enough to turn off the screen. Try again and see if the problem persists, but try not to rely on what anyone on the phone with your hands or face.

  • How to use a proximity sensor to turn on a servo motor?

I use a proximity sensor to locate and count an object because it oscillates.  As the reference voltage changes that I need change the position of the servo motor.  I have developed individual programs, one for the sensor and operate the servo motor, but I have problems combining the two programs.

Attached are the two programs.  Are there recommendations on how to combine the two programs?  I use a DAQ 6210

    Herriott,

I have attached a LabVIEW project that combines the two screws. They are combined in such distance that the servo 2 vi is called whenever you add one to the count in the Tack.vi of proximity counter. For more information about how to do under VI, please visit the links in the previous posts on this thread. Again, I'm not completely sure of how you want to control the servo, but this should get you started so that you can change the project to meet your needs.

  • Q10 Q10 of proximity sensor of blackBerry issues

Hello guys, currently I q10 ESC model 100-3. Recently I just update the official os update OTA 2941. After the update, I noticed that my proximity sensor seems weird. During a phone call, it's not off my screen so I need cat kicked the power to make the screen power off in order to avoid touching unwanted, but however in virtual expert, my proximity sensor went perfectly with nearby and well detected.
I don't know how to solve this problem, did someone ever experienced? Hope for any comment.
    Thank you

You can check the position sensor? The phone must be in a certain position to be off when out of your mouth. For example if you are online and you place the phone on a flat table and try to cover the proximity sensor, it won't turn off the screen. However, if you hold to your ear in this position turns off the screen. See if you can test this sensor in the BBVE.

  • S920 proximity sensor

Hi, my S920 has a problem in the proximity sensor (the screen does not turn off during a phone call), I think it's a problem of software/calibration but the problem is when I go into the menu factory is all in Chinese and unfortunately I can't read Chinese... If this option is available, can some body please guide me through the menu to reach the proximity sensor calibration option (for example, 2nd option-> 3rd... etc)

The problem is I bought the phone from Sharaf DG in Abu Dhabi during a visit and when I went to them, they said, that he needs 10 to 15 days... I live in Jordan and my visits are usually 2-3 days every few months!

    Hi ice_T,.

I have some advice for you.

First of all, could you please check your call settings.

Go to the Dialer, then Menu and call settings. Check if you have selected to proximity sensor.

Then you can try to install this application on Store.

    https://play.Google.com/store/apps/details?ID=com.kristofjannes.sensorsense

This app you can test this senson if does not work on.

Please let me know if this helps or not.

    Thank you

  • The Web of LabVIEW user interface directly to the sensor with Ethernet connection

    Hello

Is it possible to connect to the interface user Web of LabVIEW directly to a sensor with Ethernet connection?

By directly, I mean without using any Web Service LabVIEW VI.

    Thank you

    Marcelo

    Hello

The only communication with other devices using the Web user interface designer is through web services, either motorized or not LabVIEW. To connect with a sensor with the generator of the user Web interface without using LabVIEW, the sensing device must be accessible via HTTP and give you a way to read its data using XML web services based on.
