    Hi, Ralph:

On your PC motherboard has PCIe x 1 available connectors only.

I have provided a link to what you need.

You can get it here or a different model and your favorite PC Magazine, but it must be PCIe x 1 and No PCI.

  • DV4T-1400: IEEE-1394 Firewire

My Sony camera will only download using IEEE-1394 Firewire

Is it possible to make the DV4T-1400 accept the Firewire cable?

There is a white card push. Under hardware it is said: slot ExpressCard/54 card (also supports ExpressCard/34)

    Can I do with it?

    Thank you

    Hello

Please try a card which is similar to the following map:

No, the firewire port is not available!

  • I have a Pavilion p7 - 1067c and need to install an IEEE 1394 controller, but there is no PCI slot.

I need an IEEE 1394 port for capture video from my camcorder.  It doesn't seem to be the standard white connector on the motherboard to install a card.  There are a couple of black connectors line up with the empty card slot but not the white connector found on other computers.  I am familiar with the Texas Instruments OHCI IEEE 1394 Host Controller PCI compiant.  Is there something different for this HP?  I would be grateful for any help you can give me on this.

    Hello

Short black expansion slots are PCI Express x 1 ports so that you will need a firewire card with this type of connection - an example of this can be seen here.

  • HP HDX X18T eSATA - SPECIFICATIONS Firewire IEEE 1394

I have difficulties to find specifications for eSATA and Firewire IEEE 1394.  I am looking for an external hard drive that has one or two of these connections.  Some have a selection of Firewire 400 or 800, and the list as IEEE 1394 Firewire specifications.  Granted that my laptop is 2009, but it is a workaholic.

I have several Office Iomega esata drives, but I'm looking for a laptop.

    Thanks for your help,

It is certainly the firewire 400 and eSATA will be SATA I speed. What else do you need help with?

IEEE 1394 (firewire) to a USB cable

    Hi luis098765,

I see that you have problems when you try to import MiniDV video from your camera to your MacBook Air. I see that you try to use a USB FireWire-cable to achieve this. I would suggest that you use a FireWire adapter rather Thunderbolt as a USB connection does not allow you to import the tape media in your computer. I have a cable of firewire 800 and wanting to know how to get the video from my iMac via this cable.

Appreciate any help you can give :)

You want a Thunderbolt Apple FireWire adapter. Here is a link (to the US store):

  • SP A10: XP SP2 and Maxtor IEEE 1394: need MS patch?

I have a Satellite Pro A10, hooked up to an external Maxtor 80 GB of disc over a Firewire/IEEE 1394 link.

IEEE 1394 is attached to a card PCMCIA (from Belkin) that uses the NEC 1394 chipset.

A hotfix is available from Microsoft (see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;885464) but the MS Support saying this can only come with the support of Toshiba.

Can you help me get the fix?

Without it, I can rarely access the drive.

It works fine on my Tecra M2 that accesses the same disk through its integrated 1394 interface. The problem only occurs with the NEC 1394 chipsets.

    Hello

Well, have you contacted Belkin support?
In my opinion, you should ask manufacturers of PCMCIA cards for the upgrade or this hotfix. In addition, you can check the drivers Toshiba download page for this fix. Microsoft patches are known as QFE. Maybe you will find one that suits. But unfortunately, if you are not able to find it, you will have to wait for the next service pack for Windows XP which will include this fix. :(

  • Satellite M70 (PSM71E) Firewire / IEEE 1394 Device number

I recently bought an Iomega eGo 250 GB Portable Hard Drive with USB 2.0 connections and Firewire 400.

The Firewire port on the drive's type 6 pins. My Satellite M70 notebook computer has a Firewire 4 socket pins on the left side. I have an external power supply for the reader of the eGo. When I connect it to my laptop using a cable Firewire 4 pin 6 pin is not recognized. Nothing happens at all. I tried to disable the IEEE 1394 network adapter and reboot of Windows XP Home Edition with no luck. This drive connects and works very well using the USB cable, but I prefer using Firewire. The reader connects and works very well using the Firewire cable 6-pin 6-pin on my PC at home.

Is there something I need to do to make the drive work using the Firewire port? I have no other Firewire devices to test the port with.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Maybe the cable is defective? Is it the cable supplied with the HARD drive or did you buy it separately?

You can buy more 6-pin to 4-pin adapter online. Google "firewire 6-pin to 4-pin adapter.

I have the latest BIOS installed 1.9 B
Does anyone know a fix for this problem?
    Is this a Microsoft problem?

    Thank you

    Hello John

It is really not easy to tell exactly what is happening, but the fact is that Toshiba don t need driver iEEE as the iEEE port is recognized and installed by the operating system. Any kind of fix is unknown to me.

    An urgent need to help!

I've been running Windows 10 on my iMac via Boot Camp. I just upgraded to El Capitan 10.11 to 10.11.5. I don't know if it was because of this upgrade that made me not be able to return to Windows. In the windows startup disk, my windows HD and OS X HD icons are all grayed out. So, I can't select which one to be my default startup Mode of the disc. Help, please!

My problem is the following. THIS laptop that I just bought is completely useless and why. I have never in my life had a poor machine so badly so slowly in my life. Your old desktop of 15 year on DIALUP can work better than this machine I just buy what is on broadband wireless.

I look forward to hearing of TOSHIBA TECHNICAL SUPPORT WITH THE UTMOST URGENCY

Please don t get me wrong but it's user in the forum and if you need to contact Toshiba service or support this is a really bad place.

I put t know how long have your laptop now, but it is well known that you have set the time to bring your new product back so I put t understand what are you made here.
Go to the store and bring it back. End of the story.

Otherwise call Toshiba s in your country and explain the situation. What you can also do is to contact directly the closest Toshiba service provider and clarify all the issues you have with your new Satellite C650.
Addresses and phone numbers, you can find on Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads > find an ASP.

I hope you will clarify all this soon.

  • Cable IEEE 1394 to 800 FireWire MBP mid 2012

    Hello

Currently, I discovered an old camcorder (Samsung VP-D371) that uses a DV IEEE 1394 cable entry. I have an old cable, but does not support the USB or firewire 800 appropriate.

My question is: the Macbook Pro for mid-2012 capture the videos saved in the camcorder? --> If YES: should which cable I buy?

    -A DV to USB cable

    -A DV FireWire 800 cable

-A DV cable for love at first sight...?

Plus, do you know of any box or cable adapter for Mini DVI VHS transfer to the computer?

    Thank you

    Sincerelly,

FireWire converts freely back and forth between its various forms, simply by using the correct conversion cable (which differs from the others only by the provided number of pins and the link shape.

Most digital camcorders use the variety 4 pin, fireWire-400 without the supplied power cords.

Older Macs use the Firewire-400 variety with power, which converts directly to your camera with a cable from 6 to 4

New Macs using FireWire 800 varieties which has additional pins for drivers to push - pull on the data lines, so it has the connector 9 pins and can instantly transform 400 with a 9-6 adapter cable, or your camera with a cable adapter 9 to 4.

Some separate adapters are also available, but these should only be used in an installation permeant, because (based on anecdotal evidence) "they grow legs and disappear.

  • Interface not found error when using Snap example for Firewire (IEEE 1394)

Recently, I installed a SONY XCD-SX910 in interface with Labview 8.2.  When you choose the driver, only the Legacy driver would work for the installation of Firewire (R) (or IEEE 1394).  After installing the driver, I have images of the inteface to MAX.  However, when you attempt to trace through the example of Snap 1394 legacy since the document installation IEEE 1394, I get the error "Interface not found".  I tried a few iterations to try to name the camera as "cam0' (the name given to the camera to the MAX) and" cam0: SONY XCD-SX910.  However, the error continues.

What should I name my camera so he could find the interface?  Will there be another underlying problem that is not obvious?

Control of IO is not something that will be filled when you use the Legacy 1394 driver. If you use IMAQdx as your driver, it will fill. Thus, when you use the Legacy 1394 driver, you have control of the chain on your façade. When you use control of the chain, you must set the name of the camera as "cam0" as you did before. As long as this corresponds to what is able & Automation Explorer, you should be good as long as MAX uses the same driver that you are trying to use.
