  • Extension virtual memory for USB or Flash drives

Is it possible to 'dated' material, like mine, to move virtual memory windows ' done ' HD to something much faster and cheaper as USB flash drives or camera cards?

With a key USB 4gig runs about $10, which would leave my material limited 512meg CMOS operate the flash as a HD and I can extend the life of this thing without "scrambling eggs" in HD.

Patches, upgrades or easy workaround? Windows, on reasonable grounds, will not let you move where she "makes" virtual memory on the C:

This does not work on Windows operating systems as Windows does not allow the location of the swap file on removable disks.  Also, USB flash drives are not faster hard drives, random reads are faster on flash drives, but sequential read and writes are faster on hard disks.

ReadyBoost (available on Vista and newer operating Windows operating system) uses devices USB flash to portions of cache of the file on the USB flash drives and memory manager and then decide who is fastest and where to get updated information caching.  The point to note is that the file itself is not on the flash drive and it is only stored anything on the flash drive is not present in and supported by the pagefile before anything actually on the flash drive, it must first be stored in the swap file.

  • How to crack open a Sandisk flash drive

I was just curious to know if anyone knows of a module fail-safe way to crack open the plastic packaging of these flash drives. It does not matter I've got 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB models. If you can show me how to open one of them I should be able to open the rest of them. I tried to use a precision screwdriver set you those that are very small but can always not the case to open. It is off warranty so no worries there.

    Thank you

    A new question.

I suggest a sharp chisel and faucets of light on the side of the case.  Another option could be a knife all-purpose Baden and faucets of light on the side of the case.  A hair dryer can soften the plastic but could also fire from inside.

  • flash drive for the new Pavilion touchscreen

I have a new laptop Pavilion touhsmart, 15-no47cl.   Need to make the recovery disc.  I have a USB sandisk flash drive to 2.0 GB.  Don't know if it will work.  The Instructions don't tell you what to buy.

I'd appreciate any help / it has Windows 8.1 which I am supposed to be updated too... but it tells me that there could be problems with the update.   Him did not go so far.

    Thank you

    Hello

You must buy a 32 GB thumb key. Yo took about 24 GB, but I don't think you can buy 24 GB stick on the market today. 2 GB is too small.

    Kind regards.

  • Is it safe to buy SanDisk Ultra adapt USB 3.0 flash drive in all sizes for their part start?

    Hello

I just read your incompatible experiences regarding the ability to boot from different readers of Sandsisk.

To be more precise, is it safe to buy the discs above (North American model numbers):

    SDCZ43 - 016G - A46 - 16 GB

    SDCZ43 - 032G - A46 - 32 GB

    SDCZ43 - 064G - A46 - 64 GB

    SDCZ43 - 128G - A46 - 128 GB

at the start of one of them.

Under Windowss, you can use FAT, FAT32 for sizes 32GB or less, NTFS for 64 GB or more. Ok.

I've always wondered how to do a 64GB or more large disk bootable under Linux or Mac OS X?

    Thanks for your clarification!

SanDisk did not burst as the hard drives over the years.  Is there the sellers offering some of the old stock, no doubt.  There sellers of counterfeit discs, certainly.  Are there readers used sellers, certainly. Are there vendors selling readers and not allowing them to return if the buyer is unhappy, certainly.

So, rather than worry about the model numbers, worry to buy from a reliable source, so if you have a problem you can return. Quickly & easily.  New SanDisk flash drives are all seen as removable Windows.   And Easy2Boot will make them bootable., even on the new UEFI systems, which should be more a problem starting model guarantees.

  • OPTION TO DELETE FAST WINDOWS 7 USB FLASH DRIVES INCLUDE SOME EXTERNAL HARD DRIVES?

A few years ago, when I switched to smaller hard drive 640 GB HP pocket of Sandisk USB key I used the "Quick removal" option of Windows 7. "Fast moving" option includes the "Pocket reader." The reason for the request is when a Pocket drive is connected, and I right click, go through the process of menu to find the "Quick shift" box to check, it is not available. Is there a way to safely remove external hard drives without going through the routine "eject safely. Drives external hard should they be ejected safely or are "hot" or "n"playing card"or are they covered under the option"fast moving "?

    Basil,

    Thanks for your reply.

Since my first question on this topic yesterday, I have since rediscovered the path that I took two years ago to upgrade my computers in a mode of "quick release". Affecting the computers 'Fast moving' allows me to plug the device I want to use, open the file and when you're done just to remove the USB device without formally engaging the button 'Remove the device safely' at the bottom right of the screen. The option "Fast moving" indicates it where you make your selection. That's my experience of the option "Fast moving" includes the small Sandisk readers of thumb size and big HP 640GO type readers of external pocket. I used this method for the readers of 640GO Pocket nearly two years on a daily basis with two separate HP and assorted small Sandisk flash drives. Here are the instructions to activate the "Quick removal" option, I got:

    (a) Connect USB or external storage device

    (b) click on 'computer '.

c device), right click (the item you just plug it in)

    (d) click 'properties '.

    (e) click on "hardware".

    (f) to find the device you just plug in the list, and then click to open

    (g) click on the button 'change settings '.

    (h) click on tab 'Strategies '.

    (i) select the "Quick removal" option (default)

    (j) click on 'OK '.

Before applying this option, I was using the option 'Remove the device safely' has not always allow me to eject safely. Many times I reboot with the element always connected to try another withdraw safely. That's my experience from two years of consistent "hot swapping" or "chart n"play"according to the method of the"rapid withdrawal"with all of the data still intact.

  • Problem with OTG USB Flash Drive - Lenovo a7000

    Hello
I recently baught a Lenovo A7000 and it's great. I've set my default storage in the form of SD card and many applications are installed on the same, but the problem I am facing is when I connect to the USB OTG flash drive (it works fine). When I take it apart all the applications on my SD card are not visible on the home screen. However, girls are on the only sd card, but the just icons are not displayed. Whenever I connect OTG all apps are visible again after removing the OTG same problem each time.
Please help me solve this problem. I want my apps to install to sd card, but not on the drive Flash OTG.
What should I do? Thanks in advance

Well, the problem is solved only when restart us the machine, but it's still
not convenient to reboot each time that you insert an OTG. He really needs a
    Difficulty again.

  • HP USB Flash Drive & Mac

I bought two HP Flash DRIVE v125w 4 GB from Staples today, October 14, 2009.   It says on the packaging of return that it is compatible Windows and Mac, Mac OS: 10.3 or later.  I use Mac OS 10.5 on my laptop and Mac OS 10.6 on my Mac Mini.

It does not work on my Mac Mini when I load it on my program Parallels running Windows XP.

It has already happened with a SanDisk Flash Drive but I don't remember how we fixed.

    Thank you

Ok.. the last thing I was only allowed to work on my Mac, but not on a Windows machine.  I finally found it.  Apparently because of Snow Leopard?

Use disk utility and click on the 'Sharing' tab, then choose 1 Partition for "Volume Scheme", and then under options, just below select "Master Boot Record" and "MS-DOS (FAT)" for the format and click 'apply '.

  • USB ports not recognize flash drives

I was just given a Gateway Performance 550 windows 98-based computer. It is plug-and-play, have two USB ports. Printer and scanner included work on plug-and-play. The computer will not see even a device plugged in when you insert a flash drive. Should readers flash works with Windows 98, or should I switch to XP for the software to recognize? I read that some parts used USB 1 format and taking the computer earlier. It is supposed to be dimensionally identical to the USB 2, but run a little slow, but always interchangeable. Maybe the USB 2 flash drives are not interchangeable.

I'm not the best expert on all this, but I don't think that Flash drives were even invented where 98 was around.

The 98 machine would not have the drivers for a Flash drive.

You can visit the web site of the manufacturer of the USB and see if there are 98 compatible drivers there.
