Initial configuration of RAID HP ENVY accidentally erased, deleted hard disk?

I was trying to see if I could find an option to change the my new laptop on AHCI SATA controller, but I should have checked more thoroughly online before trying something new in the BIOS.  It seems that these laptops are automatically in AHCI?

My laptop had a 1 TB SSHD and a 24GB flash hard drive Cache acceleration configured in RAID 0.  With my minimal knowledge of the AHCI, RAID and IDE, I thought that the withdrawal of the RAID configuration would give me a possibility to change the hard drive in AHCI controller.  Without thinking, I "removed" the RAID volume, and I think I have completely erase my new hard drive and the operating system, including the recovery partition.

When I start up the laptop, I get the error "boot device not found 3f0", and f11 does not work to try to get into the recovery mode.  The hard drive test always passes the two elements.  I ordered at HP USB recovery media earlier, but I don't know if there is anything else I can do?

I don't know exactly how the acceleration of the Disk Cache, but my main question is why only SSHD would be setup in RAID 0 factory mode, and if there is a good reason, how do I put up again after the reinstallation of the OS from the USB media?

After screwing my OS, I played in the BIOS to re - setup the RAID0, but I don't know that I've got it right.  I myself remember the size of the band was set to 128 KB, but I have no idea what was the "Capacity (MB)", or should I put it when I create new RAID?

Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Ryan

Hi, Popo:

I didn't get the rush of shipped recovery media.

When you order by regular mail, it may take up to 10 days, so unless you're bored to death, so I would just wait until your recovery media is coming tomorrow.

Yes, you are right.  The file I gave you is a simple vanilla W8 version and there are no programs whatsoever other than that which accompanies the W8.

The product key in the BIOS of your PC will work with this file and you get the recovery media.

You can always want to DL this file and make a bootable DVD just as it is for future use.

After installing W8, you get the upgrade to W8.1 against the Windows store.

It may take a few hours to appear as a sort of update should run before updating the W8.1 appears in the Windows store.

You won't have to look for.

It will be displayed when you click the windows store.

You will be able to switch to W8.1 with the regular ISO W8 file, or your installation HP factory.

I recently ordered a Touchsmart from HP Envy 15-j005sa that has a 1 TB HARD drive. I'm looking to clone the orignial in an mSATA SSD drive so I was wondering what size is recommended.  How much space is used when it is new so using this information can buy a large enough disk size?

There is that little clone options b clone the HARD disk which means that you have the mSATA SSD equal or more 1 TB (b) clone c ONLY: This means you the mSATA SSD equal or superior to c:... My suggestion: shrink C: for small size say even 60 GB or 120 GB (if you don't have a lot of programs installed) FRONT of clone and ONLY clone C: normally larger (capacity) is better because you can install more programs that him.

  • Need help with the disks 'unreadable' configuring software raid after the death of the startup disk and system restored.

I'm looking for some advice on how to restore a windows xp installation software raid 5 that was running on my XP system. I had a problem when the startup disk has failed, but I was able to backup the system before it can. I replaced the drive and restored the system and everything came, but I was not smart to do this and accidently left the readers connected when restoring raid. I don't know if windows has done something when I tried to install XP on the new drive, or maybe something else has happened when I restored the system from the backup, but my raid drives can not be used. There was a moment in the restaurant business I saw a message on the MBR, but I thought that was just for the drive being restored. I didn't have a single player who held any information on the other disks in the system, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

When the system boots the windows logo screen takes 10-20 minutes before you get on the desktop. Windows Disk Manager takes 20-30 minutes to fill the list of drives and status on the disks three raid is 'dynamic' and 'unreadable' is not reassuring. I suspect it's a problem MBR or partition table that must be corrected before trying to reactive the raid, but this is just speculation.

The raid drives are on a promise ide/scsi disk and make it appear to start correctly with names and sizes. After that I get nothing. I do not have another scsi controller (or), but I thought I'd try active @ partition recovery to see if she can find information on the disks.

I hope someone has some experience with recovery like this, because this is a first for me. I thought I was pretty sure running a raid-5, but wouldn't you know, the tech gods have found a way to crush my plans...

Thanks in advance for any help!

ask Toshibaif you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

Ask them of the exact key sequence

    the other way to solve this problem;

    Replace the CD/DVD drive, then:

Contact Toshiba and ask them to send you recovery disks vista to reinstall the operating system as it was when you bought it

  • HP Envy M7 - J078CA Touchsmart: hard disk failure Envy Touchsmart

    Hello

To put it simply, my hard drive went south and I've never done the recovery DVDs.  Can I replace the HARD drive with a new drive, but obviously a source of reinstalling the OS need return to the default settings.  I saw another thread on the forum dealing with this same issue and explaining what to do, so I followed the steps to create a bootable USB key with the image ISO in the thread, but then realized that my model did not match the model presented in the discussion.  I wonder what is the propper iso file for my hardware (HP ENVY M7-J078CA).  I was going to add to the other thread, but thought I'd start rather cool.  If the thread is necessary I can paste a link for reference.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello:

"It looks like it will install a generic Win8 or 8.1 OS, not the specific HP which has the additional hp software and drivers for the HP hardware (like the fingerprint reader, etc.) on a particular model of HP laptop.

What I posted in my first answer is a CLEAN INSTALLER download link. It is the only link legal and available at the present time. It will work on your laptop computer to install the operating system. As I said, the drivers can be downloaded from your linked above support page.

If you want to restore all settings with all the drivers, you must use the USB/recovery discs you must have created once you have installed the laptop first. If you don't have that, order them specific to your model of HP:
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph07143

    Contact HP:http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

The link of ISO in the thread you linked is also a link INSTALLER CLEAN, which may or may no longer be active today. I'm not sure. It is the same for all HP supplied with Windows 8 pre installed. But Microsoft withdrew the support of all these links earlier and he's not sure if the activation of these facilities would certainly be well after the installation.

  • Configure a raid with a single HDD on board more than 2 external HARD disk.

    Hello

I run Win8 Pro 64 bit with Media Center, updated Win 7 Media Library on a 27-1007ev HP all in one desktop pc with a 500 MB HARD drive inside.

I have 2 external hard drives - one is 1.5 TB used to store data such as pictures and videos etc. NAWL, the other is a 2 TB used as a backup device.

I want to set up a Raid mirror on the PC's HARD disk to one of the sources, without having to do a reinstall if possible.

I appreciate the external ability could be underutilized unless I upped the HARD internal disk capacity to match.

    Any advice warmly welcomed.

    Hello

The motherboard in your PC's bios for RAID support.  In addition, there are only two ports SATA; one for the HD and the other for the CD/DVD drive.

You can use a function of storage W8.  Check out this video W8 storage space.  You cannot use the current drive although I got it to work a long time ago, but have not tried to do recently.

Another possibility would be to try a software RAID using only two USB external drives. Other possible combinations, but none are going to be as robust as using the bios RAID supported feature.

  • Accidentally selected 32-bit instead of 64-bit to the initial configuration

I chose accidentally 32-bit instead of 64-bit to the initial configuration. The computer (Satellite L630) came with a disc. If I create a recovery disc it will allow me to select 64-bit or it will create just once for a 32-bit system? Is there another way that I can return to the initial configuration?

What model of laptop you have (L630-xxx)?

Create recovery DVDs and test. You should not wait for a response, just to test it.
You can also try to start installation of recovery of HARD drive, just to see what will happen.

    Hello

With NI WSN 1.1, using a 9792, I can click on the button set the permissions, and if none had been defined would simply ask me a new administrator password.  Now with NI WSN 1.2, when I click on the button set the permissions he takes me to the web interface of the 9792 and said "nobody is connected or you don't have permissions to view/edit users, groups, and permissions.»  When I click on the "connect" button, a box opens and asks me a username and password.  I scoured the notes version of the help files and the internet, and it seems there is NO documentation on how to set up the first name of username/password combination, or it indicates what combination of username/password default username there might be.  I also tried a brand new 9792 straight out of the box and load of 1.2 to this subject and it has the same problem.  Is there something obvious that I'm missing?  How a person initially configure security on the 9792?
