Ink density

Hi I was wondering if anyone knew if it is possible to make the density of 'heavy' ink on the photosmart 6510?  I need to print a negative and black must be so black when you hold the film of transparency to light you see not your finger get behind it.  Thank you

Hello

Have you tried to increase the dpi (or best) what impression? Each type of paper (including transparency) has a set of available DPI and we can't crush his maximum.

I hope this helps.

    Hi Sir/Madam

    I bought a new 2515 printer.i using windows 7 (64-bit).

Please help me to reduce the density of the ink.

    Hi raghul96,

You can change the printing in draft Mode.  See the Solution 4

This will use less ink and the density will be reduced.  Who help me?

What adobe acrobat is compatible with indesign cs5 and has preflight tools, like to check the density of the ink?

You posted in an old, dead, forum. But now, I found your message... Acrobat is not compatible with InDesign, they did not need to work together. You should NEVER use always distill with InDesign, export. Acrobat Pro preflight tools has, and the only version you can buy is Acrobat Pro DC.

  • HP Deskjet 1000 J110: Intense black print with the black ink cartridge only

    Hello

I am trying to print the darkest possible black, but simply by using the black ink cartridge. How do I get there?

My printer is HP deskjet 1000 J110 using cartridge HP 301.

I do my drawing in Adobe Illustrator and set the color to be CMYK 100 100 100 100.

If I insert only the black cartridge, the printer will leave empty place where color CMY ink should be or it will fill the space with black ink?

Basically, what I'm trying to do is to increase the density of ink to the highest possible but only using only the black cartridge.

    Thank you.

    Welcome @didididot,

Thanks to their participation in Forums of HP! I see by your post that you would like to be able to print in the black as dark as possible. I can help you.

You can use the mode single-cartridge:

Use single-cartridge in the HP printer with a single cartridge. Mode single-cartridge begins when an ink cartridge is removed from the distribution of the print cartridge. In the mode single-cartridge, the product can only printing from the computer.

Here is a document for printing with black ink only (Windows).

If you use a Mac, let me know.

  • loss of DJ 1000 of ink, smear after about 6 pages

We had only the printer a week, already, we had to buy another cartdige, we printed less than 100 pages.

It's like the 122 cartridge. It's that they send to Africa.

If your print say 10 pages on page 5-6, these missing or burrs of printing to halfway to the bottom of the page.

You can change the cartdiges of the 61 301 0r? Here the cartridges are expensive.

I took out the cartridge and nozzles was covered in ink, it was not a very thin line only a mass of ink. We have the only printer in black, buy the color cartridge is empty, once again, when we took that it was covered in red. It's like the cartridges are out.

    Any ideas please.

    WR pete

Unfortunately, no, these cartridges are not only not interchangeable, they are also designated by your geographical location. If you had the original cartridge in the machine, then it can have a configuration also lower-capacity cartridge, the cartridges have an estimated number of impressions they can do, but the number fluctuates on the content of what you print as well as the quality.

I would recommend changing the settings of the printer preferences so that it prints in draft mode that will maximize your printing capabilities.

    http://printscan.about.com/od/HOWTO/HT/Draft_Mode.htm

Just to Printers and devices ' folder and right click on the printer, then in the preferences under "Paper/quality" you can change the density of the ink.

I would like to know how this happens and have a wonderful weekend!

  • How many pages can I expect to get ink installation?

Recently, we have installed a new HP Officejet 7610 and come to receive notice of it being low on black ink. The ink cartridge is the ink of "setup" provided with the machine. They have been labeled as cartridges high capacity XL. Our ink report shows that we have of 540 pages printed. I know that they were not heavy ink (just normal text). I wonder if that's what we should expect in cartridges installation or if that's what we should expect from all cartridges.

Any information would be helpful. Thank you.

    Hi WatsonMD,

Thanks for the inquiry.  Install cartridges are a bit different than a carton of regular trade.  The ink used during initialization can reduce the number of additional pages with cartridges of trade.  Also, several elements should be considered when comparing performance per cartridge.  Output may be affected by the density of the ink used for the print job, as well as the maintenance, the paper used and evaporation that occurs over time.  Page's performance is lower than I expect, but because these are cartridges of installation I am not concerned due to the additional steps and the initialization process.  Also if installation cartridges have been dormant for a long period of time evaporation could have occurred.  Once the cartridges are changed for trade cartridges don't forget to check to make sure that page yeilds are similar to estimated counties located in the links below.  Of course the impact discussed must be considered, but yeilds must correlate with the estimated number of cartridges of the trade.

  • Control the screen density when printing?

Let me explain briefly the circumstances briefly first:

I work with InDeisgn and sending files to a Fiery EFI server which is connected to a digital printer Xerox C75. I'm shots for an offset press for this printer, and these plates require screens that are quite loose so that the offset press can reproduce. What happens is that the screens (regardless of my output parameters in InDesign) out very dense, or closely packed the printer. Normally, this would be good for looks, but in this case, I need them to be less dense.

I spoke in support of Xerox who said that my InDesign settings are probably being substitution by EFI print driver in control of Xerox. I recognize now that I am no expert in this area, and I don't know a lot about print etc drivers. Xerox seems to think that there is a setting somewhere in InDesign that can be changed so that InDesign, not the driver of the EFI, will be control on colors and thus the density of the screen.

What I would like to happen is for me to be able to go to the section of output from the print dialog, select separations, go to my black ink and specify a value of say, 85lpi for the frequency (see screenshot below). My problem is that this has no effect on how the printed page comes out, regardless if I put it in 1lpi or 1000lpi.

How to improve the control of the density of my screen?

    Screen Shot 2015-02-26 at 2.08.17 PM.png

You disable the substitution in the Fiery or set the screen here.

I can't believe that Xerox had the ball on that. If they are unable to instruct you on how to do it by phone, it should be in the documentation they should have supplied with the equipment. For some time I have worked in a service bureau, but when we arrived at our first Xerox colour Copier, they sent someone to our site, put it on the network and lead us in the way we use it, and they gave us a number to call when we need help.

  • Confused on the conversion of the profiles and effect on values of ink!

Hi, I wanted to understand what is happening to my values of ink when I convert to a different profile. I set up CS for Europe prepress and working on an INDD file. All related PS images have the same profile.

The printer sent their profile and asked to convert all the images and the doc INDD. But when I do, looking at the images of PS with color sampling, it changed the values of ink. (For example, which was 100 k in a picture now shows ink in all 4 channels.) It is a problem for me.

In the past I would just convert to profile to export > stage of pdf which seems to work ok. What should I do? Is there a difference in the printer if I convert to pdf stage, rather than convert all the images of PS and the INDD doc?

    Thanks in advance!

Converting to a profile Exchange actually ink values?

In your case, change the profile of the application, will change the values of the ink, but it is difficult to tell how many without comparing the two files.  If you can, try to change the profile on a copy of one of your files.  Then, print proof of contract of the file (if you can).  You can also consult the percentages with the help of a kind of third-party application, Acrobat or Photoshop.

I think that if you keep your profile until you create the PDF file (where you will ultimately use their profile in the creation of PDF), then maintain you control over your initial destination of color.  A seller of printing has created a profile based on their press, a certain type of paper and implemented (or should have) appropriate for this particular press and paper ink densities.  Using their profile in the creation of PDF files, give them what they want for their RIP.  It's the kind of a way for the supplier to predict the amounts of ink they will get.

Now, if you give the same PDF to another provider of printing, it may be a 'change', how big or how small is determined by the new provider profile.  So, you don't want to put the same PDF to another printer.  You would be better to get the new print provider profile and use it in the new PDF creation for this printer.

What is the advantage of convert to profile the printer early in the workflow rather than export pdf stage? (No means that you will have to go back and change all that if, for example, you were to send the job to another printer at a later date?)

Yes, he average woukld changing all the files in a new destination profile.  There is an advantage if you rely on future jobs to everybody as a simple pressure on the use as a type of paper.  This is often referred to as closed loop to a workflow.  In a closed-loop workflow, you can optimize the density of ink to a press / paper and get consistent results.  When you are potentially going to send the PDF file of several different suppliers, it is referred to as a workflow of open loop.  In an open-loop workflow (yours), you use profiles standard in forecasting for where printing will be.  In the case of your seller who provides you with their printer profile, you simply create another PDF using their profile while retaining all the original application profiles.

Another thing I don't get - check separations in Acrobat all my text on the black plate only. But when I check the rich black option, it shows the same as dark black text. How can this be?

I don't know what is happening there.  Since your black (should be) excessive printing, they can be considered as rich blacks even if they are not.  Maybe if blacks were boring, then they would be precise blacks.  That said, the separations to tell the whole story.  If they appear black precise in the seps, then they should RIP like this.  Another reason to be in contact with the print provider and make sure that you get what you want on the press.

I've recently updated WIndows Vista with Microsoft updates. After the reboot, the fonts on most of the pages in Firefox and my word processing program, (StarOffice not MS Word), light, incomplete, appearance part of the letter low while the rest is dark.
