insane amount of data use.

Here is what is guys that happens. I got my Droid razr maxx two weeks ago. Since that time, I used almost 3 GB of data on one navigation. (all updates are planned to wait as the wireless connection). Does anyone else notice a peak since switching to this phone? Sometimes I get data drop and it reconnects to a different network than before the fall, i.e. (3g before lte after and vice versa) this could be the cause?

  • Smart way to save large amounts of data using the circular buffer

    Hello everyone,

    I am currently enter LabView that I develop a measurement of five-channel system. Each "channel" will provide up to two digital inputs, up to three analog inputs of CSR (sampling frequency will be around 4 k to 10 k each channel) and up to five analog inputs for thermocouple (sampling frequency will be lower than 100 s/s). According to the determined user events (such as sudden speed fall) the system should save a file of PDM that contains one row for each data channel, store values n seconds before the impact that happened and with a specified user (for example 10 seconds before the fall of rotation speed, then with a length of 10 minutes).

    My question is how to manage these rather huge amounts of data in an intelligent way and how to get the case of error on the hard disk without loss of samples and dumping of huge amounts of data on the disc when recording the signals when there is no impact. I thought about the following:

    -use a single producer to only acquire the constant and high speed data and write data in the queues

    -use consumers loop to process packets of signals when they become available and to identify impacts and save data on impact is triggered

    -use the third loop with the structure of the event to give the possibility to control the VI without having to interrogate the front panel controls each time

    -use some kind of memory circular buffer in the loop of consumer to store a certain number of data that can be written to the hard disk.

    I hope this is the right way to do it so far.

    Now, I thought about three ways to design the circular data buffer:

    -l' use of RAM as a buffer (files or waiting tables with a limited number of registrations), what is written on disk in one step when you are finished while the rest of the program and DAQ should always be active

    -broadcast directly to hard disk using the advanced features of PDM, and re-setting the Position to write of PDM markers go back to the first entry when a specific amount of data entry was written.

    -disseminate all data on hard drive using PDM streaming, file sharing at a certain time and deleting files TDMS containing no abnormalities later when running directly.

    Regarding the first possibility, I fear that there will be problems with a Crescent quickly the tables/queues, and especially when it comes to backup data from RAM to disk, my program would be stuck for once writes data only on the disk and thus losing the samples in the DAQ loop which I want to continue without interruption.

    Regarding the latter, I meet lot with PDM, data gets easily damaged and I certainly don't know if the PDM Set write next Position is adapted to my needs (I need to adjust the positions for (3analog + 2ctr + 5thermo) * 5channels = line of 50 data more timestamp in the worst case!). I'm afraid also the hard drive won't be able to write fast enough to stream all the data at the same time in the worst case... ?

    Regarding the third option, I fear that classify PDM and open a new TDMS file to continue recording will be fast enough to not lose data packets.

    What are your thoughts here? Is there anyone who has already dealt with similar tasks? Does anyone know some raw criteria on the amount of data may be tempted to spread at an average speed of disk at the same time?

    Thank you very much

    OK, I'm reaching back four years when I've implemented this system, so patient with me.

    We will look at has a trigger and wanting to capture samples before the trigger N and M samples after the outbreak.  The scheme is somewhat complicated, because the goal is not to "Miss" samples.  We came up with this several years ago and it seems to work - there may be an easier way to do it, but never mind.

    We have created two queues - one samples of "Pre-event" line of fixed length N and a queue for event of unlimited size.  We use a design of producer/consumer, with State Machines running each loop.  Without worrying about naming the States, let me describe how each of the works.

    The producer begins in its state of "Pre Trigger", using Lossy Enqueue to place data in the prior event queue.  If the trigger does not occur during this State, we're staying for the following example.  There are a few details I am forget how do ensure us that the prior event queue is full, but skip that for now.  At some point, relaxation tilt us the State. p - event.  Here we queue in the queue for event, count the number of items we enqueue.  When we get to M, we switch of States in the State of pre-event.

    On the consumer side we start in one State 'pending', where we just ignore the two queues.  At some point, the trigger occurs, and we pass the consumer as a pre-event.  It is responsible for the queue (and dealing with) N elements in the queue of pre-event, then manipulate the M the following in the event queue for.  [Hmm - I don't remember how we knew what had finished the event queue for - we count m, or did you we wait until the queue was empty and the producer was again in the State of pre-event?].

    There are a few 'holes' in this simple explanation, that which some, I think we filled.  For example, what happens when the triggers are too close together?  A way to handle this is to not allow a relaxation to be processed as long as the prior event queue is full.

  • How many cell data uses the health app?

    We have little data plans, and my wife intends to use the health app every day.  Should I use to run the cell data health application?  Another reference... If I used the maps on the watch application would use this as much data as it normally does on my iPhone?  Just try to get an idea of the amount of data from the watch uses.  Thank you.

    I have not observed the health app using cellular data at all.

    Regarding the cards on the watch, it's just an extension of maps on your phone. Cards cannot run independently on the watch. If you use maps on the watch, he uses exactly this use from your phone from your phone is running the show.

  • That is the app automatically downloads every three hours suck huge amounts of data?  How do I turn it off?

    On the iPhone 6 sec, that either the app downloads every 3 hours, using huge amounts of data?

    As nobody here knows what applications do you have on your phone, there is no way we could answer that.

    To start to figure it out, go to settings > cellular and made scroll down to see which applications are using a large amount of data. Disable cellular data for those who use a lot without reason you can think and see if this will have an impact.

    Also, many carriers use only newspaper given every so many hours. Maybe it's a running total for these three hours.

  • Sample of high acquisition rate of data using data acquisition and continuous data backup. Also I would chunck data into a new file in each 32 M

    Hello:

    I'm very new to LabView, so I need help to find an idea that can help me to record data continuously in real time. I don't want the file is too big, so I would like a new file in Crete in each 32 mega bytes and clear the previous buffer. Now I have this code can save data of voltage in the TDMS files and the sampling frequency is 2 m Hz, so the amount of data very fast increase and my computer have more ram 2 G, then the computer hangs after 10 seconds, I'm starting to collect data. I need some advice you briliant people.

    Thank you very much I appreciate really.

    I'm a big supporter of the architecture of producer/consumer .  But this is the place that I recommend.  The DAQmx Configure Logging does all that for you!

    Note: You will want to use a table instead of a graph here.

  • The amount of data is generated in continuous mode?

    I'm trying to implement a measure of voltage using a card PCI-6071E. I looked at some of the samples (ContAcqVoltageSamples_IntClk_ToFile) that uses the AnalogMultiChannelReader to collect the data asynchronously and write to a file. My question is, if I do 2000 samples per second with 200 samples per channel, the amount of data will be generated? By using compression really will make a big difference in how much data I have to deal with that? I want to graph data 'real time' in certain circumstances, but usually save the file for post processing by another application. My tests can be run for several minutes. I looked at the things given compressed, and I didn't understand how I could read the data back and understand what data are intended to what channels and the amount of data belongs to each channel and each time slice. Thank you

    How many channels are you reading from?  Samples per second, is what will tell you the amount of data that you produce.  Multiply this number by the number of channels and you will get the total number of samples per second of the generated data.  (The samples per channel determines just the size of buffer in continuous acquisition, so it is not used to determine the total amount of data being generated.)  Each sample will be 2 bytes, so the total amount of data will be 2 * 2000 * number of channels * number of seconds during which your test runs for. From your description, it sounds not compression is really necessary; just save your files regardless the other format your program can read (text delimited by tabs, or any other common format files) and do not worry about compression, unless the size of your files become prohibitive.

  • How to record data using a while loop?

    Hello

    I created a .vi I try to use to record several channels of data. I have implemented the user must be able to record data until the "STOP" button is pressed, then the data is saved in a spreadsheet file.

    Question No. 1: How to allow the user to store an indefinite amount of data?

    If you run the .vi as is, you will see that you are only able to collect 100 points, and registration takes place during Ms. I want to collect about 5 minutes worth of data and have a sampling frequency of 1 kHz.                 Any suggestions?

    Question 2: How can I change the worksheet file extension? Let's say I want than to save it as a .csv file?

    Thanks in advance for any pointers or suggestions!

    I have not looked at your code, but only based on your description I would implement a producer/consumer to save your data.  You must acquire your data in a loop (the producer) and send to your loop of logging (the consumer) using a queue.  Yes, you must save the data, then that is acquired.  In this way, you do not have to worry about storage who knows how much data in RAM.  It's just the disk as soon as he can.

    You can save the file with whatever the desired extension.  If you want it to be a CSV file, then do the extension a .csv.

  • Is it better to transfer usb2, eSATA (or usb3) in small quantities or large amounts of data? Corrupted data?

    Not sure if this should be in performance/maintenance or hardware/drivers.

    Hello. I was wondering about the usb2, eSATA and a bit on the usb3. I have usb2 and eSATA on my systems.

    Someone I work with told me that there may be corrupted data if you transfer a large amoutns of data via Usb2. It is best to break your files to move, copy, etc., he said. My colleague told me earlier that anything more than 30 or 40 GB start to be transferred correctly from external factors or for some reason any.

    These issues apply to eSATA or Usb3? I guess not, since these other methods are designed to transfer large amounts of data.

    Is this true? Is this due to material limitations? What is the recommended size of transfer? It's Windows XP, Vista or 7 limits?

    Any info or links are appriciated.

    Thank you.

    I have never heard of something like this before and have done some fairly large data movements in the past.  I would recommend using the program Robocopy in Windows Vista/Windows 7 (and available for Windows XP as a download add-on) to drag the move instead of type / move, given that Robocopy includes a number of features and security provisions that are not present in the case.

  • Data use blackBerry 10 GPS issues

    The amount of data the application maps/GPS use?

    For example, if I go on an hour long trip, GPS time overall, how big a piece of my monthly data will I use?

    Thank you

    GPS uses data it's downloading the maps that uses data.

    So, it would depend on how often you change area in 1 hour, (how fast you drive)

    From what I was told data consumption is not much, I don't know of anyway to check it go otherwise than on a trip of 1 hour.

    Contact Rogers before leaving and discover your current data usage, switch cards, do not use any function that consumes data while 1 hour, then call Rogers again to the use of data present on your. You will then have an approximate reading of data used in 1 hour.

    You already have a Rogers App on your phone that allows you to check the use of data, such as the one I have TELUS.

    There are map Apps that download all the data of the card on your phone, so no data will be used during the use of the cards, but I don't know if they are available for BB.

  • Excel crashes during the extraction of data using webutil - if size 500 kb >

    Dear all,

    I use form oracle (Forms [32 bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 (Production)) on Windows server 2003 and configured webutil(Version 1.0.0). I m using this webutil to open excel file form oracle using CLIENT_OLE2. everything works fine if the size of the file is small.however, when data are large (i.e. If excel file size is superior the 500Ko) webutil stop extracting data and excel to hang himself. In fact, at first data are extracted very fast (until the excel file 200 kb) but little by little extraction speed of data to excel file decreases and stops in the end that the size of the file reaches 500 KB excel please help its urgent.

    Kind regards

    Manoj Rajput

    I understand your desire to use Excel, however, when you transfer large amounts of data like this, WebUtil is not the best tool for the job.  Since you survived "fetch data in Excel through webutil (CLient_ole2)" you force your customers to wait a long time while your form for read/write in Excel.  A more effective method would be to use a directory that is shared between your database file systems and Application Server and the database allows you to export your data to a file: separation by comma (.csv) in the shared directory.  Then use WEBUTIL_FILE_TRANSFER.AS_TO_CLIENT () method of WebUtil to transfer the file to the client computer.  If you want to automatically open the file for the user, you can then use the CLIENT_HOST() of WebUtil method to open the file using its default display.  In this case, the typical Viewer for .csv files is Excel.  It is a much faster method that always uses Excel and I think that your users would be extremely satisfied with the much faster processing speed.

  • Looking for ideas on how to get large amounts of data to the line in via APEX

    Hi all

    I am building a form that will be used to provide large amounts of data in row. Only 1 or 2 columns per line, but potentially dozens or hundreds of lines.

    I was initially looking at using a tabular subform, but this feels like a method heavy since more than an insignificant number of lines.

    So now I'm wondering what are the solutions others have used?

    Theoretically, I could just provide a text box and get the user to paste in a list delimited by lines and use the background to interpret code on submit.

    Another method that I've been thinking is to get the user to save and download a CSV file that gets automatically imported by the form.

    Is there something else? If not, can someone give me any indication of which of the above would be easier to implement?

    Thank you very much

    PT

    Hi PT,.

    I would say that you need a loading data wizard to transfer your data with a CSV file. 17.13 Creating Applications with loading capacity of data

    It is available for apex 4.0 and distributions, later.

    Kind regards

  • Presentation of a meeting in Rome, Italy via 4G wifi hotspot. The amount of data consume a 75 minute meeting?

    Presentation of a meeting in Rome, Italy via 4G wifi hotspot. The amount of data consume a 75 minute meeting? The largest plan has my provider is 800 MB and I wonder if I need more because their cost of surplus more than cocaine.

    Thank you.

    It depends on what you do, but I guess you could go.

    Things like the video online may vary from 100 Kbps to 500 Kbps. screen sharing can consume as much, or more, depending on your screen resolution. Audio runs about 44 Kbps. demand for bandwidth content is dictated by the settings of this content. Video MP4 or FLV is adjustable to broadcast to 10 + Mbps, even if I try to stick with 800 Kbps. In short, there is no response from the hard line of it is or will not work. You just need to do a little math to understand.

    For example:

    Duration 75 min

    Audio (44 kbps):                                                                       198 mb

    Live video (400 Kbps): 1 800 MB

    Screen sharing (1024 X 768 resolution 150 Kbps): 675 MB

    It would be easy to go beyond your data limit, so just prioritize your needs for the meeting and use only what you need. If you need live video, do it for the opening and closing, but then stop doing during the presentation, because it only takes up bandwidth and draws attention away from your presentation. You can also reduce the room bandwidth to DSL (limit the margin of 600 Kbps max) or Modem (limits room at 56 Kbps) to help conserve bandwidth. However, you will notice a reduction in quality to offset the bandwidth restrictions. For help with some of the math, here's a preview technique to connect 9, http://www.realeyes.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Adobe-Connect-9-Technical-Guide.pdf. The next to the last page, there are some numbers for you to work with.

    Leave the query to create the object back to you.

    Declare a cursor in a package specification than the result set gives you desired. And to declare a TYPE in the package specification which returns a table composed of % rowtype to this cursor.

    Then use this type as the function's return type. Here is the code example that shows how easy it is.

    create or replace
        package pkg4
          as
            CURSOR emp_cur is (SELECT empno, ename, job, mgr, deptno FROM emp);
            type pkg_emp_table_type is table of emp_cur%rowtype;
            function get_emp(
                             p_deptno number
                            )
              return pkg_emp_table_type
              pipelined;
      end;
      /

     create or replace
        package body pkg4
          as
            function get_emp(
                             p_deptno number
                            )
              return pkg_emp_table_type
              pipelined
              is
                v_emp_rec emp_cur%rowtype;
              begin
                  open emp_cur;
                  loop
                    fetch emp_cur into v_emp_rec;
                    exit when emp_cur%notfound;
                    pipe row(v_emp_rec);
                  end loop;
              end;
      end;
      /

    select * from table(pkg4.get_emp(20));

         EMPNO ENAME      JOB              MGR     DEPTNO
    ---------- ---------- --------- ---------- ----------
          7369 DALLAS     CLERK2          7902         20
          7566 DALLAS     MANAGER         7839         20
          7788 DALLAS     ANALYST         7566         20
          7876 DALLAS     CLERK           7788         20
          7902 DALLAS     ANALYST         7566         20

    If you return a line an actual table (all columns of the table) so you don't need to create a cursor with the query a copy you can just declare the type like this % rowtype tables table.

     create or replace
        package pkg3
          as
            type emp_table_type
              is
                table of emp%rowtype;
            function get_emp(
                             p_deptno number
                            )
              return emp_table_type
              pipelined;
      end;
      /

     create or replace
        package body pkg3
          as
            function get_emp(
                             p_deptno number
                            )
              return emp_table_type
              pipelined
              is
              begin
                  for v_rec in (select * from emp where deptno = p_deptno) loop
                    pipe row(v_rec);
                  end loop;
              end;

  • Transport of large amounts of data from a schema of one database to another

    Hello

    We have large amount of data to a 10.2.0.4 database schema from database to another 11.2.0.3.

    Am currently using datapump but quite slow again - to have done in chunks.

    Also files datapump big enough in order to have to compress and move on the network.

    Is there a quick way to better/more?

    Habe haerd on tablespaces transportable but never used and do not know for speed - if more rapid thana datapump.

    tablespace names in the two databases.

    Also source database on the system of solaris on Sun box opertaing

    Any ideas would be great.

    Speed? Just copy the data files themselves at the level of the BONE. Of course, you use always EXPDP to export the "metadata" for the tablespace but that takes just seconds.

    See and try the example from Oracle-Base
    http://www.Oracle-base.com/articles/Misc/transportable-tablespaces.php

    You can also use the first two steps listed on your actual DB to see if it is eligible for transport and to see what there could be violations.

    DBMS_TTS EXEC. TRANSPORT_SET_CHECK (ts_list-online 'TEST_DATA', => of incl_constraints, TRUE);

  • The amount of data required for replication?

    I have a client with a server 2012R2 as a domain controller configuration. It has SQL express for shipping system. There are 3 full-time and part-time users 2.

    They had a Server 2003 with Replay. Replication stored up to my office to the problem. Only the internet expanded wireless or Verizon or Hughesnet.

    They use the wireless extended for about 5 years. The upload speed has slowed down to about 40 KB/s on May 7, when they did an upgrade. It's part of the problem.

    Replication is about 100 hours of delay at this time.

    Verizon has a 10 GB per month maximum. HughesNet has 50 GB a month for $129.00

    If I'm fiquring right 40 KB/S = 100GB per month so Appassure sent to the amount of data to use HughesNet.

    I do snaps at every 30 min. It is an average of 200 MB. I moved the page file to a volume that save. I turned off a bouquet of services.

    I think that I could copy the data into my office with far less bandwidth than that.

    "The upload speed has slowed down to about 40 KB/s on May 7, when they made an upgrade."

    -So, who did an upgrade? Verizon, Hughesnet or Appassure (from 4 to 5?)

    -How will you measure this 40 KB, Speedtest.NET, a field in Appassure?

    "They are on an average of 200 MB"

    -Where are you number of 200 MB of? The number, 200 MB perhaps before any treatment is done. So you might not really need to transfer some 200 MB through

    Do you make backups every 30 minutes throughout the day? Does include weekends? If people do not work on weekends, make sure that you don't do backups on the weekend, which falls a little less than 80 GB per month.

    Drop your freq from 30 minutes to 1 hour, which reduces your amount to be transferred in the half.

    If people work 04:52, don't make backups 8-5, this significantly reduced backups.

    If you set backups to run every hour, from Monday to Friday and 8-5 you would subject under 9 GB per week or 36 by number of months vs Antons 271 GB

    You have to replicate this customer?

    Even if you get this working, the next time that the client makes Inc. vs FULL, you will be FAR behind. And customers seem to like make full backups.

    I don't envy you, you have to solve the problems Appassure did and they don't give you any idea what it is. They will not tell you what changes, how long they are taking every step to prepare backups and replication. Why their yield is 40 KB. They will tell you (as above) to use 3rd party tools to try to measure their performance applications and its basically impossible
