• Optimize the edge animate cursors/Pages/symbols for major animation projects

  Hey all,.

  I'm looking for a way to optimize a page slider several created with edge animate CC, it is currently works well on the latest such as iphone 4S etc devices but nothing more really Caryl, the scenario (which I'm sure is a common very) is:

  I have an Edge animate file where I created a several cursor page where each page is a symbol that contains sub symbols which slide on the page and the old slides for symbol page, content off the page, there is a decent amount of animation in a loop on each page.  The total size of the cursor, images etc. code is about 800 k total. There is no other content on the page, just this slider.

  The problem seems to be that each symbol page there sub symbol and its content are active and continue to animate even when they are more on the stage so it would seem that it is treating all 7 pages at a time, instead of just active page/symbol and its current content.

  So my question is: Y at - it a simple way to optimize the edge so that it does not receive and treat a symbol/Page current and it is void / symbols/content at the same time? Or am I wrong somehow on the use of the off scene processing / page content?

  Hi, Jeff.

  There is a way to load and unload the symbols dynamically, which can solve your problem.  That being said, this method would not solve your problem of payload to the initial download, but that would mean that your symbols do not play in the background.  Before you try this, have you tried simply to stop the animation of your symbol when you Exchange to another?  It means a little more work in your scripts, but remove dynamic symbols has its own complexities as well.

  I have re-installed edge animate several times now, even computer rebooting between installs. For some reason or another, whenever animate Edge is installed, this particular "d3dx9_43.dll" file will not be installed with. What can I do? I use Animate frequently enough that this will become a problem if she cannot resolve it quickly. Help, please.

  I thought about it. I just had to find my computer 'd3dx9_43.dll', then copy of System32(not cut) in the right folder edge animate. There is no need to reinstall or restart. I already had the latest version of MS Direct X installed, so all that was left was to have the file copied to the correct folder.

  I'm trying to insert a button that I have developed on edge animating in dreamweaver, but I'm trying to use the button to post a link to a URL, but I can't get that to happen. Anyone has any advice here?

  I mean that a project of edge animate is a collection of files and code that is completely separate from your Dreamweaver document.  If you want the button to be interactive and go on a link, you must program within the EA.

  When you export the project and insert it in DW, it should work.

  I read what follows in the edge 1.5 api docs:

  From edge animate 1.5, opening a page with more of a composition in it is not supported, but pages can be hand-is the author to use several compositions.

  What it means exactly, I can put only a unique composition in an HTML page?

  If so, what is the "Hand-authord" solution that you propose? can you please elaborate a bit more in this issue?

  Hi, Yotam-

  What this means is that you cannot open two html files at the same time to animate (the tool), because we are working in native mode to HTML.  The solution to hand - author is more detailed this statement, which shows you how to make reference to two separate files edgePreload.js and how to place the files in divs below.

  You can insert in the CLASS, but you must carefully change the paths to any dependent files.

  It works like any other inserted JavaScript.

  1 JavaScript code copy of the html file published in the new JavaScript file.

  2. in your html code insert the path to the new JavaScript file.

  3. in your html code to insert class where you want to insert the project.

  4. in your html code to insert the path to edge host runtime (to the CA or your server)

  5 Eventualy carefully change the paths in the two JavaScript files (first new JS for other second JS and JS other than second for dependent images) if all the files are not in the same folder as the html file.

  Who can work with a single JavaScript file, merge the two JavaScript files.

  In the end, this is just a JavaScript with dependent images or simply a JavaScript if you use images.

• Why use Edge animate in Captivate 9?

  I am VERY new to Captivate and most Adobe products and am not a web developer or programmer.  I learned how to use 9 CAptivate and understand you can do advanced animations (and more with the function of calendar in the working area).  However, I recently took a course (a pretty good on the site Adobe know-how) on sensitive site, building 8, Captivate and the instructor used edge animate to do something similar.  I do not understand that Edge animate has other uses and has more features that advanced in Captivate 9 animations, but if I want to only produce a little advanced animations and simple movements, I use Edge animate to do this?  I guess what I'm trying to understand where are the limits to capabilites animation Captivate 9 against Edge animate?

  Animate edge can create animations and "was" considered to be the alternative for Flash animations at the start of the hype of HTML5. However, Edge animate is more will continue during development, the month next Flash Pro will be renamed CC animate and will be able to post files OAM, as Edge host used to do. Captivate has the ability to embed animations such as you can embed animated GIF (old but still functional to both output SWF and HTML5) as well. However, it must be aware of the fact that there is no communication between these animations and Captivate, unless you know JavaScript. Such communication is possible using widgets.

  Since you are new, I often have problems with the terminology. You want simple movements in Captivate 9? Use the effects of movement, much easier to create and manage than to try to do it with another application. The effects are possible in Captivate, no need for another application at all. What do you mean by "advanced animations? If explain you it, maybe I can also offer you an alternative to animate dashboard? I used it with Captivate 8, but right now, I'm perfectly happy with what's available in Captivate. Edge Animate has (d) the possibility of incorporating some code snippets (JS) or write your own code. Captivate has advanced actions, shared stocks and you can also launch the JavaScript code. I don't think Edge animate has 'more' feature if you want to create Captivate e-Learning courses! Or do you have another goal?

  I am trying to include two different edge animated projects on a single html page but cannot get them to run.   There are several answers to various parts in your question:

  -You can place the edge entertainment in compositions (not in slideshow);

  -Scroll of parts or of the effects of scrolling in a Composition are more difficult;

  (- let slide shows meet your roll is a characteristic third effects Panel).

  Slideshows can be presented to the width of the browser, but not of Compositions ...

• Animate edge and Muse do not publish correctly my project created in Edge animate

  I have a project that I made in Edge animate and when I saw it works perfectly; but when I publish as web disappear several parts of the project and do not know why this is happening. I realize that I give to lift the page in the browser and the ski lifts, but with parts missing from the project.
