Inserted of Toshiba Recovery Media formatted SD card

How stupid can be the Toshiba Recovery Media software guy?

1. I went to use this software to create an image of my Toshiba for safety;
2. in the options the software had chosen USB flash that I just assumed to be the USB flash 32 GB I inserted the USB door.
3 - the software formatted my SD card internal instead of my USB 32 GB flash.

Conclusion:
All my work and emails from last month, completely lost, stupid can be the developers of this software, to format my USB instead, it formatted my SD card internal?

Looks like a software bug, and if all goes well it will be resolved by the update

  • Impossible to uninstall Toshiba Recovery Media Creator

    Hello

I can't seem to uninstall Recovery Media Creator every time I try to uninstall I seem to get a red x error message with the error code (-5005: 0 x 80070002),.

I think that this has been caused by the system restore, it can removed a file in the folder of the Trusted Installer, I tried literally everything I know but can't seem to remove it.

I got my recovery so I tried to remove it because of that and bothers me like when I can't remove a program, I have no idea how to manually remove programs but I have a little knowledge with systems operating so if theres any advice on that would be great.

    Kind regards

I found a similar question on the Toshiba U.S. forum > click HERE.

I also think that the recovery files are corrupted and you need is original Toshiba recovery DVD.
Is that you get to laptop with OS preinstalled and you should be able to create recovery discs. Try to contact the closest service Toshiba and explain the situation. If you didn t change anything on the system is not your fault and maybe you will get the discs for free.

    Hello

I want to do a system recovery disc

    Hello

The Recovery Media Creator is a tool of Toshiba which requires Toshiba image files to create the recovery disk. The image files are placed on a different partition called recovery of HARD drive partition.

If the HARD drive has been changed or deleted this partition, the recovery media creator will not be able to find image files and you will not be able to create this disc.

So my question is: you reinstall Windows 7 at your own hand? Did you change the HARD drive in the past?

  • No on Satellite R830-182 TOSHIBA recovery media creator

I just bought a R830-182, whenever I start it, "TOSHIBA Recovery Reminder" appears to tell me to run "TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator", however, no similar application does seem to exist anywhere on the machine. Any ideas where I can find it?

    Thank you
    b.

It should appear in the start menu > all programs > Toshiba. Either in this case or in public services.

  • Re: Toshiba Recovery Media Creator - no HDD Recovery area

Hi friends, I bought a new Toshiba Kirabook PSU8SA-00V00U, a few months ago. I wanted to create emergency recovery disks, but whenever I start Toshiba Recovery Media Creator, it comes with a message that HARD drive recovery area undetected.

Then I tried running the recovery environment by pressing 0 at the beginning upward.
It comes with a blue screen saying that can not load from the recovery partition.

I checked with Paragon Hard Disk Partition Manager software that the recovery drive is available.

How do I make a recovery media or connect this HDD in system recovery so that Toshiba Recovery Media Creator detects the recovery disk and made recovery media. If in the future, if I want to reset the PC to factory settings, it will be even coming up with a blue screen saying that it can not load the recovery environment.

    Any help will be appreciated!

    Hello

Fact is that the installation of image recovery or recovery media creation works if the machine has only factory settings. In other words, everything must be in original condition without any changes. With the changes I mean, original OS must be installed and the structure of the partitions of HARD drive should not be changed.

If you try to change HARD drive partitions original structure the system in general, or Toshiba recovery media creator, will be confused and will not be able to find what we call markers which provide information on the exact location on the HARD disk where the recovery image is placed or registered.

Did you do something that might be responsible for this situation?

    > I don't have a free USB key to test the usb mode.
I recommend you to buy a separate USB memory key and to create the eventual recovery USB flash memory support.

    Hello

You want to disable this notification?

You can do it is msconfig. Start the msconfig go to Startup tab and disable the process that is responsible for the notification of Toshiba Media Creator. Save the changes and restart the device.

By the way; It would be advisable to clean the BONES and the registry using CCleaner. This tool is free and deletes all temporal files

  • Is it possible to download the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator?

    Hello everyone,

I have a question on the Recovery Media Creator. Is it possible to download it from toshiba.com? Because I can't find it here... I deleted from my computer cell, just thought that I should not use anyway. But now I have to install a second time to remove stuff from my laptop.

Hope someone can help me here,

    Robin.

    Hello

To my knowledge, this is not possible because the Toshiba recovery disc creator is part of the image of Toshiba and it can be used only in connection with the files of images available from Toshiba.

If you would like to format the HARD drive and install the Win 7 OS own then Toshiba image files would be unavailable and the Toshiba Recovery disk Creator will not work.

  • Windows 8 - Toshiba Recovery Media failure

Windows 8 became unstable.   Created a new set of recovery Toshiba satellite media.  The laptop does not start media (boot sequence is set to CD/DVD first).  Media is recognized in another computer and begins installing Win 8 very well.

I used a copy of Windows 8, I bought it for another computer.   It is installed very well.  Install product key is not required, but mobile has a different product key so my product key card.   Received this product key for the BIOS/UEFI?   Windows 8 shows that the product is registered.

Question 1: why wouldn't start on the laptop DVD but work fine on another computer?  (8 Win DVD original works fine so peripheral CD/DVD is functional.)

Question 2: can I expect any problem, do not use is not the original software?  don't care about the extra bloatware.

    Thank you

    Darryl

    Hello

You can check to see if there is a newer version of the Recovery Media Creator...

I know that some versions must be uninstalled because it caused inaccessible DVD discs.

Win 8 is designed to search for a key in the bios... at least the preinstalled stuff is...

If your system says it has registered and activated, he must have done this... Or you just got lucky.

You might see if there are startup options that may be needed for the recovery discs...

Something that you select on the Toshiba screen... The disks may need to start with a command of the Bios, for example...

Here are some tips that I have found which can be useful...

If the recovery partitions are always in place you can just hold zero above p all turn and do the process without disc.

If this does not work, then place 1 disc in and restart the laptop. maintain f12 during startup, and select cd/dvd drive to start first. This would lead to boot the disk instead of the hard drive.

  • Satellite L855 - 12 X: how to use BD - RE with TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator

    Hi all

My question is about the progress of the Recovery Media Creator.
I was about to create the recovery and I noticed that there are several options (DVD 4.7 GB, DVD 8.5 GB and Flash memory).

My Toshiba Satellite L855 - 12 X with a Blu - ray burner disc drive and I would use a BD - RE, I bought for backups.

Does anyone have a solution to use this media?

I guess that Blu - ray discs are not supported by Recovery Media Creator.
As you said: the 4.7 GB DVD, the 8.5 GB DVD and USB Flash memory stick options are available.

I think the 16 GB USB flash memory stick would be the best choice

  • Free update to Windows 10 and Toshiba Recovery Media Creator

I got the Windows Logo 10 on my laptop satellite and I'm waiting for the free update promised by Microsoft. I want to ask about the Toshiba Recovery CD Creator. I already have my DVD ROM from Toshiba Recovery set. What could we do? Will be the Toshiba Recovery able to create a recovery disc for Windows 10 upgrade to allow me to recover my laptop for Windows 10?

Is there one advises or precautions?

What could I do if I want, in the future, to refresh the Windows 10 installation?

I recommend you to create an image after you have finished the upgrade to win 10.
Image can be created using 3rd party software.
