Inspiron 15 no status light

Why is the light on only when the power is connected to the state machine? It's never on when the computer is on when you turn it off, it is very difficult to tell if she really stop!

It is an electric light and the battery only State and not a light of cpu usage.

According to the reference of the Inspiron 15 Guide:

"Indicates the current status and the battery from the computer.
White - get battery

Amber - battery is low or critical.

Disabled - computer is plugged in and the battery is fully charged.

Computer is running on battery and battery has more than 10% of the fees. »

  • T400 without BACKLIGHT, no status lights on the inverter

    Hello

Backlight of my t400 died there not too long ago... pinkish hue before he cut out completely is the death, give right outside?

Apparently it's not the whole story, I replaced the backlight without success then replaced the inverter and don't always show no results.

An external monitor will work fine and I can see an image on the screen with a flashlight shining on the screen.

I noticed another symptom though, also the backlight works is not the green status lights on the inverter also do not turn on. However, when I installed the new inverter first I remember lights works but the backlight doesn't work do not.

  • DeskJet 5550 cartridge status light flashing problem

I have a Deskjet 5550. The power led is on and the print cartridge status light is FLASHING. Immediately before that, the prints have a lot of black and color.

I opened and closed the plate on the cartridges.

I took on each of the two cartridges and put back them in.

I have looked for "the yellow arrow and icons", but can not find them.

I turned the printer on and outside.

I turned off the computer (Compac Presario CG60 - 206US Notebook PC) and rebooted.

Help! Please, I beg you! Thank you!!!

    Hi mmdb1,

I understand that the cartridges are not cheap, but to help isolate the problem, try another set of cartridges. If you install a new set and the problem is resolved, you can then contact our technical support line for the replaced defective cartridges.

  • T - 42-'below LCD' (power, etc) status lights dark EXCEPT the wireless light.

I have strange problems with all the ' status lights of below-the-LCD-display (power, battery, Caps Shift etc) being dark EXCEPT the indicator left wireless that works very well. "  All indicators failed at the same time, not one by one.  It seems strange that only indicator of wireless adapter is functioning normally.

Otherwise, it works normally - start button on the screen of the IBM BIOS to XP, etc.  This happens regardless of the fact on battery or AC power.

It is a 15 "2379 - R9U which has been my main workhorse for years.

    I have-

1 reinstall the motherboard toward cable Panel and inverter LCD on all ends.

2 replace the inverter think there is a problem of logic (the power of the fluorescent backlight of LCD was going well on the original), and the same behavior occurred.

3 tried reflashing the last BIOS 3.23 with the .exe file downloaded, but he refused because it was the same version not an upgrade.

This could be a faulty cable across the LCD, signs a card dying mother, faulty RAM, etc. ?

Y at - it no diagnosis to test this?

When I had the same problem, a few years before, on my T23 the motherboard has been replaced, fortunately at the time it was still in warranty.

The LEDs are sitting on the inverter. As you have already replaced, I guess it leaves that option to replace the cable to the rule, try it before you can certainly say that it is the motherboard, unless of course others have other ideas.

  • HP 5940 - color cartridge status light flashes with new HP 97 cartridge

Just installed a new HP 97 cartridge and the light flashing color cartridge status. Put in old 95 HP cartridge and the lights are out, but this cartridge is empty. I have cleaned all connectors (inside the printer and the cartridge), tried reinstalling several times. Any ideas or am I stuck with a bad cartridge? The only difference I see between the cartridges, it is that the 97 is a greater variation of the 95. Thanks for any help.

Never forget, faulty cartridge. He took over and replaced it, it works now.

  • Inspiron 660 - solid Amber Light, No POST, does not start

    Hello world

Having badly put in that my Inspiron 660 road.  When I press the button, it turns Orange fixed and there is no display.    I need to change a few items on the computer?

    Full article:

Earlier, before I clicked on the sleep button on my keyboard and left my computer for awhile.  When I came back, the computer showed a black screen, but he was still awake.  I left alone for a while, but I couldn't get the screen to show so I held the power button.

I then took over, hoping everything was ok, but then it restarted several times by himself.  Then he showed a blue screen with a frowny face indicating 'inaccessible boot device '.  I decided to try safe mode.  After scanning of the hard drive, it eventually start in safe mode.  After a few moments, I stopped it safely.

After that, I thought I should try a regular boot.  When I hit the power button, it remained white, but there is no display.  After leaving it alone for a bit, I tried to turn off by holding the power button.  But it does not work.  The only option I had was to pull the plug.  After reconnecting, there now solid amber light, no display, no post.

Hoping someone has a solution I have at least back on my computer.

Solid amber of the switch shows the dead motherboard.

  • My Dell Inspiron 530 will not light

The computer has been like that for a while now. When I have the power cable connected to the back of the computer the Green underside is on so I don't know if it means that something is supposed to happen. When I opened the computer there is a yellow light as well. But when I hit the power button to turn on nothing happens, fans did not move at all. And if I remember when I opened the computer there was a few stray wires disconnected, I tried for about 10 minutes around the motherboard to find that these cards could go on. I have found none. I followed a cord in the back and he went into the motherboard and fan and another went in a box (where the power cord goes into the back). These cords may not be connected when the computer still worked well, I'm not entirely sure about this. I don't have a lot of money to replace the points and I did well in computer science and more telling me instructions on what to do.

    peterfaix

Absolutely nothing happens when I press the power button. The yellow light on the motherboard is immediately, without flashing what so ever. And when I said the green light is the I meant right where you plug in the power cord. It's on and stays green as well. No flicker.

As the power light button does not lite, better to replace the power supply first, as you need a diet 'known' work to check the system and motherboard.

As you have a mini-tower 530 standard ATX power supply units can be installed, with a 24-pin or 20 + power connector 4-pin main motherboard, with or without the on/off switch.

You should be able to buy a compatible power supply either a local computer or online store.

Note: A power supply with four SATA power connectors, is necessary.

Power supply replacement procedures are here:

  • Inspiron 5558 - no power light indicator?

I just bought this laptop. OK, there is no indicator hard drive - I'll go on.

What about the power light? Is it possible, that there is no indicator light power?

There are some glass or plastic on the power button, all as an indicator of the light... but it doesn't...

Yes, the path of his Dell to save money, I guess. Hey at least they put a light load in the left front. But he made little, but you say if its loading or not. I agree, the power button suggests you, it should light up. I bet for this, if you buy a more expensive series. Ah, it's these little things that create negative product reviews.

  • Why two machines in my connection loose House would be the night while 3 have always. The status light in air port utility open orange both while it is still green on the other 3?

What would be the status of 2 of my devices in air port utility 5 apple change to orange next to the icon internet (it looks like a planet) while the other 3 are still green and works very well. They were all working fine last night and didn't work this morning when I woke up. 2 devices that stopped working (status changed) are a 2012 macbook pro and iPad 2. the three devices that still work are a 2009 mac book pro, iPad mini 3 and an original macbook (white). I tried to pick up all the devices (modem/router/stop devices) and reboot but no change in status. I get internet from a modem connected to a time capsule (2nd generation).

I forgot to mention that the macbook pro (2012) can connect to other networks, I have not tried with the iPad 2.

  • Inspiron 537 - does not light.

Whenever I press the button on the front, green light in the back turns off and I have to disconnect and then reset. Power supply controls (I exchanged with a good 537) and motherboard looks good without visible damage to the capacitors or other components.

    Inspiron8553

As you have already replaced the power supply and there is no beeps or power LED button is not lite, so it seems that the motherboard has problems.

Try the following, if you are comfortable working around computers:

You have replaced the power supply with a power of work knowledge hopefully provide.

Unplug the unit, press and hold power in a few seconds to discharge residual power.

Remove all the computer PCI cards, remove the video card [as appropriate], disconnect all devices and cables power & data of all readers.

Reconnect the power cord and power the system on, see if you get a different indication of the LED on the power button / stop, or 'beeps '.

No difference, remove the system memory and try again.

Still shows no signs of life while looking at a motherboard replacement & maybe a processor.

  • Power light / hard drive/battery Inspiron 5759 does not?

Bought this computer from my wife for Christmas.  Apparently, Dell has combined the power of disk hard/light activity indicator / and the battery status light in a unique light on the front edge of the computer.  My concern is that the only light briefly when I plug into the power supply first, then it turns off and on again never.  Even when the hard drive is written or the bedside lamp lights to show activity.  Is this normal?  I am concerned that this is a way that I used to determine if things happen on my computer as it should.  If the light is not designed to show the disk activity hard when it occurs, what is it?

If you have not found the answer to your question, so this should help you.

Press and hold 'Fn' which lies between the Ctrl and Windows Key, then press the 'H' button  This action will be necessary every time that you restart the computer.
