Install 5 Lightroom with Lightroom 3 on the computer

Hi guys,.

I have Lightroom 3 on my PC and now I want to install Lightroom 5. Can I do this without uninstalling Lightroom 3? 5 Lightroom will realize that there are catalogues Lightroom 3 and transfer them to Lightroom 5 automatically? Note that the 5 Lightroom edition is a full Version, not a Version update. For me as a student, the full version and the update were the same price, so I chose to purchase the full version...

Thanks for your help :-)

Yes, you can install lr5 while lr 3 is installed.

I'm sorry, but you will need a Windows 9 x / ME drive to provide during the XP installation from the XP disc is a version upgrade. There is no way around that. See if you can find a friend with an older operating system disk (not a recovery disk) to support qualification. Otherwise, you would need to buy the full version (not upgrade) of XP to install on the computer. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

Description of the problem: same problem on the computer desktop and laptop at the same time began: cannot install Windows updates (has no status)

No hardware changes or software recently made to the system: I followed the usual procedure to install Windows updates.

    Method of connection: wireless

    Technical expertise: intermediate level

Performed troubleshooting: because the error # 80071 A 90 type indicated by the system, I followed the instructions of Windows Help and Support, for example to run Microsoft Fix it which did not work; a more advanced method has also been used, who recommended to start Windows Update in Mode safe, then open Windows Update and install the updates and then restart normally. At this point, the problem was that any stage of Windows Update was available.

    Hello amib004,

As much as I know, only Windows Update cannot be run in safe mode. That being said, I saw where install several updates may conflict with each other. Try to disable all updates installation and install the updates failed one at a time.

You wouldn't be wearing used underwear without washing (and money laundering it) first. It goes the same for used computers.

You can trust in the security of ANY computer used until you have formatted the hard drive & then did a clean install of Windows.

Follow the instructions in this post of mine in another forum (to-the-letter & in order! ) to return the computer to a State safe & functional: http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=44636

If you need additional assistance with the clean install, please start a new thread in this forum: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-system

Note: The computer must not be connected to the internet or local networks (i.e. other computers) in its current state. All personal data (e.g., banking online & passwords credit card) must be considered at risk, if not already compromised.

Wish I had better news for you.  Good luck!

  • Cannot install Windows 7 "Windows didn't prepare the computer to start the next phase of the installation." to install Windows, restart the application.

Original title: Installation of Windows 7.

I tried to install Windows 7 (clean install from XP and reveived the following message is displayed:)

Windows didn't prepare the computer to start the next phase of the installation.  to install Windows, restart the application.

I restarted my PC, anti anti-virus disabled (as advised) and still get the error message.

According to the Upgrade Advisor Windows 7 my PC is compatible.

    Any ideas?

If you have compatible hardware and your computer still stops responding, disable any unnecessary material. Remove (USB) universal serial bus devices. Remove or disable network cards, sound cards and cards of the series; and then restart the installation.

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

  • Problem with MDT 2012 on the computer.

    Hello guys,.

We had some problems with deployment workbench. I'm stuck since 2 weeks and I have no ideas.

So, we have already a precedent of deployment, but it is old, and we wanted to make a new one, in order to really understand all stages of the construction of a deployment.

So we created a PXE boot, who works there.

The thing is when we start the installation, Windows Setup is fine, so I run certain applications (Microsoft Office, 7zip, Adobe Reader, Flash Player, Chrome, etc.).

To explain, I added applications with command lines in the workbench, then I made a bundle with them. In the task sequence, I install the bundle.

We get the 1632 error code, which seems to be related to the temporary folder. He says it's full or inaccessible.

So I tried different things, I read that it was possible that the temp folder has been locked by another plant which may have gone wrong. So I took away from facilities that were not going very well.

It worked once, then it still make me error codes 1632.

I disabled the step "Install applications" in the sequence of tasks, which does nothing for me. (That I created the facility overall.)

My boss has the idea to disable GPOS that install stuff, so now I try it.

  • I have a problem with getting permissions on the computer.

    Original title: ownership and permission

I have a LOT of pictures on an external drive connected to my computer.  I run Windows 7.  Two records from hundreds of files, each with many files in them, I can open but cannot open the pix in the records.  I need to change the property etc a pix at the same time.  This is not so on the other hundreds of records.  Why these two, and how to change ownership of the folders rather than files inside individual them?  I tried to change the owner of the folders but am not allowed to do.  Can anyone help?

    Hi Roger,

Thanks for keeping us posted and share this information with us.

    Please answer the question-

What is the antivirus installed on the computer?

    Method 1-

I would have you to obtain possession of the files by running the commands at the command prompt with the privileges - administrator

TAKEOWN /F the type in the path of the folder that you want to take access>

ICACLS type in the path of the folder that you want to take access> grant administrators: F /

    Method 2-

If the problem is fairly new, so I'd you do a system restore to undo changes.

  • I have a problem with a missing on the computer user account.

Original title: problem getting back to the original account admin user

Since the computer was new, I didn't have that one user account and didn't need a user to logon screen, when it opened to that and the only active user account. Fast forward 6 months that I had a problem with a windows installation file deleted and in order to get a program running I had to add a user account for the new installation of the user files. That part worked, but when I disconnected and tried to return to my original owner account there was only the new account on the logon screen my original account wasn't there. My files for this user account are still there in C: User but I can't find a way to get there.

Googleing this problem I saw things about problems with the accounts being listed as AccueilCompte, or administrator, but it did get me anywhere, the only difference I've seen after going through all that I saw in Win7 Home Premium, which had to do with user accounts, it is that my original account was registered in a field as 'owner '. I don't know if it's part of the problem or not. How can I return to my original account and why isn't she appear on the opening screen of session or user accounts?

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft Community and thanks for posting the question. I see that you have a problem with a user account.  Let me help you with the issue.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. what security software is installed?

  • Installed printer uninstalled after reboot/restart of the computer

During the last two weeks, I had to reinstall my printer (Kodak ESP3250) manually after every reboot/restart my computer running Windows XP with service pack 3. It's never happened before with the same printer and the same computer. I have made no changes to my computer during the period in question, except regular updates from Microsoft, can someone explain why it's happening and what I can do to stop it?

    Hello

Follow these steps and check if that helps:

    Method 1:

I suggest you try to update the latest drivers for the printer and check if it helps:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/print_drivers_install_updatew.mspx?mfr=true

    Method 2:
Try to perform the clean boot and check if it helps:

NOTE: When you are finished troubleshooting, make sure that put you the computer in start mode normal as suggested article above.
