Install Windows 7 on a HP Pavilion G6

Good evening!

I recently bought a HP Pavilion G6 comes loaded with Windows 8.  I am not happy with the operating system and the desire to change the operating system to Windows 7.  I bought a copy of Windows 7 and I put the disc in the cd-rom drive to try to boot from it and I keep getting this message: "boot image selected not to is not authenticated."

I tried another copy of Windows and the same error message.  Can you please help me with this problem?  I don't have anything installed on the computer.  It is directly from the factory.

Thank you very much for your help.

Very respectfully,.

Bill

Hi, Bill:

Y at - it a startup option inherited in the BIOS of your laptop?

If so, change it to that and see if you can get the DVD to boot.

These W8 books are totally different animals.

  • HP keyboard mapping inorrect freshly installed Windows 7 / XP on HP Pavilion 500-202eo

    Hello

After you have installed Windows 7 Ultimate on HP Pavilion 500 - 202eo, I noticed that the HP keyboard connected is incorrectly mapped. I had exact same questions with the mapping of the keyboard with new operating system installs on oher systems as well, but couldn't really find a solution for this. In fact, certain symbols appear to move; While normally, where usually I had to press Alt Gr + 2 I got the sign @, I must now press shift. The? + button now product - character, while pressing on - product button /, <>product button------etc. I tried to put the keyboard in 'Norwegian', which is the layout of my keyboard, but nothing helped. It seems that I must be missing some type of a pilot or a patch, which is present on each preinstalled system that I own, but somehow is missing on installed fresh, even if there are no conflicts in Device Manager. I have the same problem on the XP installation. Any suggestions?

Hello again once, I managed to solve this problem by specifying the correct keyboard language in Control Panel. I didn't need drivers after all.

  • Does anyone has installed Windows 7 on a laptop Pavilion DV2175

If anyone has installed Windows 7 on a laptop Pavilion DV2175 and if so it is 32 or 64 bit

    Hello:

There is an unofficial update guide to windows 7 for the series dv2000.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-systems-and-software/Windows-7-upgrade-guide-for-DV2000-models/m-p/186936#M28141

Given that the maximum amount of memory, that you can install on your laptop is only 2 GB, I'd go with W7 32 bit, as a 64 bit OS requires more memory and disk space to run a 32 bit OS only.

    Not double, but more.

    Hello

    You are welcome

If the CD/DVD drive in the works of PC Gateway, you can (at least temporarily) remove it and install it in the HP, you can run your recovery disc and reinstall Vista.  Once everything is running on the HP, you can always remove the CD/DVD drive and reinstall it in the gateway PC if you wish.

    Hello:

The only other than W8/8.1 x 64 operating system that runs on your laptop is W7 x 64.

You can use all the W7 x 64 drivers and this model on your software.

Your model uses the AMD graphics driver. To install the AMD and Intel GPU.

DO NOT USE ANY BIOS OR THE FIRMWARE OF THIS MODEL FILES

If your laptop comes with the Ralink WiFi card, you need this driver bluetooth of Ralink and software, not one of the above model.

  • Install Windows 8 on pc Hp pavilion dv6 - 6113 cl/entertainment

HY I thought that it can install Windows 8 in my unit, I ask this question because there is no windows 8 are available for my device driver so please give me some advice about this...? :)

It is NEVER a good idea to install an operating system for which there is no specific driver of the OS.

You can run the Windows 8 Upgrade Advisor, see here...

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/upgrade-to-Windows-8

BUT while he will probably tell you that it works, does that tell you, this is HOW it will work. Video drivers are especially a problem because it is through the screen you determine how everything works. If the screen is not running as well as it did under Windows 7 because the only available driver for Windows 8 is basic, you will be disappointed by Windows 8...

Windows 7 is a great operating system stable, for which your machine is fully supported. You would do well to stick with it.

  • No Audio output device is installed (Windows 10 64 bit, HP Pavilion 500 series)

    Model number: 500-007 a

    Operating system: 10 64-bit Windows

Description of the problem: no sound.

    Hello

I came from TenForums forum, hoping to find a solution to the problem of noise from my office.

Status of the solution of the problem is at: http://www.tenforums.com/drivers-hardware/45369-no-audio-output-device-installed.html

When I move my cursor on the audio icon on the corner at the bottom right of the screen, the message of the index says "no Audio output device is installed". By clicking on the audio icon so that windows are trying to solve the problem will not solve the problem.

In Device Manager, I have 2 "High definition audio controller" that display a yellow "!" mark on them. Both controllers are on the devices tab of system.

As you can see in the picture above, there is no tab "audio, video controller and game."

How can I get my sound back?

    Thank you.

    You are the very welcome.

What worries me is that your device manager does not have the IDT HD audio listed under sound video and game controllers Device Manager.

Normally, when you install W10, the IDT HD audio device is in the list, and it just doesn't work.

You can try reinstalling W10 and see what happens.

  • Clean installed Windows 7 on laptop HP Pavilion d2915nr entertainment

I take a lot of Windows 7, but some of the features and programs that came on the laptop went (QuickPlay, Lightscribe, etc.).  Anyway, is to download and install the default programs without going back to Vista?

    @bigphilly08,.

    Hello

If you have somewhere copy c:\swsetup folder then here you have all the software vista pre-installed for your model.

You can find and install HP QuickPlay. This software also runs on Win7.

When there's some sort of problems with installing and then try to run in Vista compatibility mode.

    Hello:

You probably have to install the driver for W7 USB3, which I don't see on your laptop support and driver page.

Download, unzip and run the file setup.exe from the link below and restart the PC.

  • HP pavilion mini: installing Windows Server 2012 on HP Pavilion Mini

I know it sounds crazy, but I need to replace a turn with 2003 server and I wanted to move to a smaller and more cold area. I only intend using IIS and a few small apps. There will be only a couple of thousand visits per day. I intend maxing out at 16 GB of ram. I'm better off trying to install on the 8.1 existing OS or should I use diskpart and completely erase disc? The known pitfalls? THX.

Do a clean install. I don't think you can upgrade to server W8.

    Clean install is the best.

  • Pavilion dv6645us after you have installed Windows 7 ultimate x 64 no drivers for base system device

After you have installed windows 7 ultimate on my pavilion dv6645us laptop, I can't find drivers for base system device, location: 2 PCI Bus, device 5, function 2. Also for another device of the Base system, location: 2 PCI Bus, device 5, function 3, I can't find the drivers. And I have a unknown device, location: on the system as 'good' to ACPI Microsoft. (I don't know the English translation).

The only thing that does not work on my laptop, I noticed is that I can't write data to my external hard drive (WD essential 1 TB NTFS), I can access the drive and get the data off of it, but when I try to put my computer on the outside driving my laptop goes down (it reacts with difficulty (, all usb devices are disconnected and I have to manually restart the computer by holding down the button for 5 seconds).

Is this a known problem and the most important is there a solution for this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Base system device is for sure your player card.

Use your Vista drivers for this problem:

    Ricoh 5-in-1 card reader here

If there are problems with the excavation using compability mode. How al information here.

How to solve other problems as unknown device?

Go to control panel-> Device Manager control

Click with the right button of your mouse on each yellow Panel and choose Properties. Then click on background details and paste hardware ID here. This way we will know what it is.

Below, an example of how you do it:

  • Install Windows XP Pro on Pavilion a6700f

My RN friend just bought a HP Pavilion a6700f OfficeDepot (Burbank, California) to his nephews in the Philippines to be installed with the programs not compatible with Microsoft Vista.  His nephews wants reformat me the hard disk and replace the operating system with edition of Profession of Windows XP SP3.  HP do not provide any option for consumers who prefer always Windows XP as operating system.

Did he never properly installed Windows XP for this HP Pavilion a6700f?

Moreover, it is not my first time remove Vista and put XP on new computers.  I already did with success in many portable computers: gateway ML3109, HP Pavilion DV 6626US, several Acer Aspire, etc., the installation CD to create XP install CD with AHCI, or simply with regular XP drivers.

If any device driver for XP not available, I can consider asking my friend to return it, and we will go buy a Dell desktop with option to put XP in it.

    Any suggestion?

64-bit is better suited for advanced pc users, IMO. Above for Nvidia Chipset and graphics drivers do not work in 64-bit, but you can switch to 64-bit on the Nvidia site.

I would also make sure that the programs that they need to run are compatible with XP 64 bit.
