Install xp on a laptop with win 7

I am trying to install xp on a laptop HP62 who has win 7 is installed. Even when I finally managed to win 7 off the power to the laptop, I was still unable to download xp. I kept getting a bsod. What should I do to go back to xp?

First of all the WARNING - avoid use of Windows XP. He has less than a year of updates left and will be extremely vulnerable when Microsoft stop updating:

http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/endofsupport.aspx

Is there a reason, in particular, that you use XP to 7?

If you must use an OS legacy such as XP probably your CD of Installation XP needs a SATA Driver that can be integrated with the likes of nlite, I guess that the BSOD is 7b error?

For instructions using nlite see my Guide for reinstalling Windows, I have a wiki on this subject in Chapter 2, Windows XP:

You may have trouble finding the drivers for your system to run Windows XP properly.

I'm trying to install Acrobat 8 Std on a laptop computer that was in need of a restoration.  He asks the file AdobePDF.dll since my Vista CD - I do not have.  How can I get this file or another which will allow my Acrobat 8 work on this laptop with Win 8.1, which she did before restoring?

    John,

AdobePDF.dll is in the file Data1.cab. Mine is located in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat8\Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional\ You need to extract the file "AdobePDF.dll_64" from the .cab file. You can do this with WinZip or 7-Zip. Everything you need to extract is this file, nothing else... Once you have extracted it, remove the _64, so the name of the file is AdobePDF.dll. Then place the file in any location you want and run the program it when asked. For a file location, I suggest to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat8\

    Hope that helps.

  • I would like to know how to re - install windows on a laptop with the product key on the back of the laptop.

install windows with the product key

someone I gifted an old laptop with a lot of things about what I don't want and stuff I want is missing. I would like to know how to re - install windows on the laptop with the product key on the back of my laptop.

or, even better, if someone could find me a way to get a disk to restore to factory without purchasing information, which would be awsome.

I thank you for your time and have a good day.

If the laptop is one of the well known brands, he may well have a restore partition.  If you do not have a manual to the user of this computer, then go to the manufacturers website and look for the documentation.  At the very least, you should be able to find information about how to restore the laptop from the recovery partition.

If the restore partition has been decimated, the manufacturer may still have available for a nominal cost of installation diskettes.

  • I always have an Aspire One D250 series laptop with Win XP. All updated to windows 7?

This Aspire One still works under Windows XP and I want to update at least to windows 7.  I have a CD with Win 7, but without a CD player on this model, I'm not sure how to update.  Win 10 work on this model?

You can create a USB bootable for a downloadable iso file from Microsoft Setup disk. However, you will probably be satisfied with performance of slow your system on Win7 or Win10.

  • photosmart c6380 need driver for xp pro 32-bit who also works for the two laptops with win 7

Recently, I was given an all-in-one Photosmart C6380.  It came without driver/installation disk.  I will link to my workhorse desktop with XP Pro 32-bit operating system.  We have two laptops with Windows 7 operating system.  I want to be able to print from wireless laptops.  Should which driver I proceed?  I found the XP driver but it is version 12.1.  I read that was a version 13 or higher needed for the printer to work a Windows 7 operating system.  There are tasks to accomplish what I want to do?  If Yes, where can I find the patches?

    Hello

    Try the following.

First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your desktop.

    Flash Player Uninstaller.

Once the download is complete, close all browser windows and start the program uninstaller.  Once done, restart the laptop.

Then, download and install Firefox , then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash. Note: You can deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before download.

Close all browser windows before you run the installer of Flash.

Start Firefox and see if the video play Ok - if they do, close Firefox, open Internet Explorer and click on the same link Adobe Flash above to get a command prompt to install the ActiveX component.  Once completed, restart Internet Explorer.

If you still get the problem of loading, run a check of the speed of your internet connection by using a site like the one on the link below, where it is causing the problem.

  • Computer HP laptop mdl.ze5470us: will win. 7 works on laptop with win.xp

My question is. I can't install win. 7 & will it work properly.  victory for sense. XP has disappeared.   Thank you.   BillyG

A question like this would require more information, as the hardware specifications of your computer.

If your computer meets the hardware requirements listed on the Microsoft Web site
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/system-requirements

    you're probably good to go.

You can check your hardware of computers by clicking on my computer and selecting Properties.

There could be minor details, you would have to change in your BIOS as well. If you are not too good with computers, the best option would be to call HP and check with them (even if their customer service is total crap) or ask another question them and include the complete model name/number and all the details on your computer for the forum.

    Hope this helps

  • Best option to install Windows on a laptop with only of the BIOS

I have a laptop that is preinstalled with Vista. The hard drive crashed so I had to completely restore, even the recovery partition. How can I LEGALLY install Windows again at the lowest possible cost? The computer has enough features to run Windows Vista/7/8.

I have a laptop that is preinstalled with Vista. The hard drive crashed so I had to completely restore, even the recovery partition. How can I LEGALLY install Windows again at the lowest possible cost? The computer has enough features to run Windows Vista/7/8.

Since you did obviously not a backup, has not get and/or do a recovery media...

Try to get a set of the manufacturer recovery media:
Lost your Windows disks? How to legally get filtering alternatives,

Unfortunately - there is no guarantee that the manufacturer of your aura of media in Windows Vista.

After that - you can try to find a friend, family member or just a neighbor who might have a disk of the same edition and the architecture of Windows Vista, you are supposed to use (look for a sticker on the system - perhaps under the battery - that tells you which edition of Windows Vista and the product key) and use it to clean install with your product key.

After that - your choice could be a friend of tech savvy with a TechNet or MSDN license, which is ready to download a copy of Windows Vista for you and burn it to DVD and you helps to install and be activated with your product key.

Where you can get into trouble, is that if you can not read this sticker more and your system manufacturer peut/do not send you a set of system recovery media.

The extent of the "pretty good specs" - this isn't your only concern.  If the manufacturer of the computer or of individual components does not support their products with Windows 7 or Windows 8 (so there are device drivers and software out there that allow of such device (s) to properly communicate with Windows 7 or Windows 8 and be fully effective and appropriately used), then you are out of luck.

  • HP G72 laptop with win 7 ultra randomly grave time and also the internet connection

I have two laptops running wireless, HP and an old Dell with XPS. The Dell works well with wireless and Wired internet and printer. The two laptops are side by side and wireless to the router provided by my ISP, Time Warner. The Hp also works very well with/wireless internet and to the printer until it disconnects from the internet/printer, date in which I simply turn off the Radio by using the f12 key and then re - turn on the radio with the key and continue my work. Sometimes the interval on maybe 20 minutes and a few hours. The computer loses the date/time, also on some different random intervals and reset it as well as the internet delivered to a server provides only temporary reset for a random period. Seems one of the ntp servers provides longer periods of internet connection than most other servers, including those of the nist.

It's way on my ability to fix, but from what I have learned, it seems this could be a timing issue applicable to both the disconnect from the internet and issues of specifying unstable computer date to the portable win 7 only.

I'd certainly appreciate any suggestions on how to solve these two problems.

    Fred

On March 8, I used Microsoft FIX IT to automatically reset the TCP/IP as suggested and restarted the computer and then reset the time. I haven't changed the time zone and guess that change from time to time would happen automatically. From that moment, the internet remains connected and the date / time is correct at the new time after 21hours which is encouraging. I do not understand how to reset TCP/IP would correct the problem of random disconnection of the internet, but I'll be glad if these two issues are cured and can only express my thanks to all who responded.
