Hi thedudeman,.

Welcome to Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

I have a few here that might solve the problem.

You can try to perform a clean boot in this situation by following method 2 in this link:

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Note:-   after this please reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.

  1. On the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
  2. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click restart.

You can now go ahead and uninstall the application that caused this problem.

If this does not work, try the following steps: -.

First of all, you have to back up all the data your Windows XP operating system.

You run the risk of losing your data without backup of data.  Data loss can occur in several ways. One of the most common causes is a physical failure of the media on which the data is stored. Probably, you have everything stored on the hard drive of your PC.

In order to perform data back up follow the steps mentioned in this link: -.

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/308422

·         You can now go ahead and perform a new installation of Windows XP.

·         After that, use the diskette to upgrade and install Windows Vista without installing applications.

Visit the following link for information on how to upgrade the operating system to Windows Vista and install it: -.

How to install Windows Vista

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/918884

If you think it takes for you to replace the disc you can contact additional parts of Microsoft and they will help you get the refund using the link below: -.

How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and upgrades, and replace product manuals

Hope this information is useful.
Let me know if it worked.

    Hi, ZVS,.

Thank you to attach screenshots, it makes it so much easier to see what's happening!  It is actually a known issue that can occur on some Windows Vista-based computers when a specific folder is not created when the operating system has been installed.  Fortunately, this is easily solved by following the steps in this Knowledge Base article.  Good luck with your project!

After seeing an alert of an iTunes update, I repeatedly received the following error message after trying to install:

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network unavailable resource. "Click OK to try again or enter a different path to the folder that contains the installation packaghe 'iTunes64.msi' in the box below:

Then I have a navigation button to select the path to this file.  Try as I might, I can't find what I need access in order to complete this installation.  Can anyone help please?

I'm running on Windows 7 Home Premium.

    Thank you.

    Hello

If I understand correctly, iTunes update failed to install, you get the error: "the component you are trying to use is on a network unavailable resource."

This problem can occur if the installers being cached (for Apple component you want to remove) have been removed from the Windows operating system.

We'll uninstall the current version of iTunes and install the latest version. Refer to the suggestion from the following links and check.

Alert "the feature you are trying to use is on an unavailable network resource" during the removal of Windows Apple software

  • X 220 WiDi installation Error Message

I recently bought a 220 X with an i7 - 2640 m, Intel Graphics 3000, Centrino Advanced N-6205, running under Windows 7 64-bit. My wireless receiver is the Netgear PTV2000. After researching this configuration meets the minimum requirements to support the wireless display function. I've updated all the required drivers for the newer versions of yesterday. When I run the installer for Intel WiDi, a window opens that displays the Netgear receiver for a fraction of a second. Then this window is replaced with an error message that says that my system does not meet the requirement of the minimum hardware requirements to run WiDi. There is a help link that shows a short list of required equipment, which is without help. There is no message that tells me exactly what the material is deficient. I would like suggestions.

Uninstalled all drivers wireless then resettled in good CONDITION as stated on the web page of Intel WiDi. Problem solved.

  • Installation error message

I have a Photosmart C4480 printer working correctly via USB on Windows XP. I tried to add the printer again run through my print server on my LAN. I got a message saying that there is a fatal error during Installation. I tried again and the printer now works on the network.

However the error message and the page showing the percentage of installed reappear every few minutes.  I tried to do a restore to a date prior to long until I started the Setup, but the message remains displayed. I thought to delete all the HP programs, but hesitate to do it because I had a few difficulties to do the initial installation and also I think that

    It cannot remove the problem.

Could someone tell me please how to stop the message appearing.

I solved my problem.  I restored my computer to an earlier date to try the effect of the Remove HP programs. I started with HP Image device function 10.0 and uninstall HP spent several minutes to clean before deleting the program. The annoying message ceased to appear so I undid the restore to do the same thing on my last settings. To my surprise, the message was gone completely.
