Installation of Oracle Apex 3.2 on the Oracle 10 g database steps

Hello

I'm new to apex oracle and oracle 10g Enterprise Edition installation. I had previously installed Oracle 10 g XE and Apex 3.2 in my rental unit.

Now I need to install Oracle on oracle 10g Enterprise edition 3.2 apex

I did the following steps:

Step 1: I installed Oracle 10 g Enterprise edition

Step 2: Install apex Oracle 3.2 on my Machine location with the steps again below
1 > SQL > CONNECT SYS as SYSDBA
2 > apexins SYSAUX SYSAUX TEMP is
3 > @apxchpwd (changed the admin password)
4 > @apxldimg.sql SYSTEM_DRIVE:\APEX32 (local system path)

Step 3: What is the next step, please suggest me how to get the host name and port number I am little confused here also suggest me the above step I followed is correct or not?

Earlier, when I installed oracle XE, I had the path of the local host as a shortcut to get. Here, I can't find that. Please suggest me how to get the URL to access the link to the apex

I followed the same process, how he is mentioned in this link http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14373_01/install.32/e13366/otn_install.htm#insertedID2

Thank you
Sudhir

Hello
Download http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex-listener/downloads/index.html here ApexListener. The installation guide is on this page http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex-listener/documentation/index.html.

Alternate, unzip the download and look toward the top of the Installation and the developer's Guide in doc folder. You have all the necessary steps. You can try the Standalone ApexListener initially. (Tip: search for the stand-alone word in the document).

Make sure that you run the apex/owa/owainst.sql, because you're in 10g when connected in SYSDBA.

Kind regards

    Hello

It is only the documentation for APEX 3.2.
You can install APEX 3.2 to the Oracle database, which is the version 9.2.0.3 or later by using this same documentation.

  • APEX on Oracle 10 G database installation

Hello. One of my struggles with APEX installed at my place of work is that we lack of Oracle Database 10 g, 11 g not. This SUMMIT is not already installed on our Test Server. I don't have the technical knowledge to install APEX myself, so I need to ask a resource get the installation done. However, we have a very experienced Oracle DBA. If I had to estimate how much time the typical installation and post installation configuration would take our DBA (who has no prior experience of the APEX, but installs Oracle DBs with ease), which would be a sure to quote number?

Let me know if you have any experience with this type of installation. Thanks in advance.

So, it seems we have Apache installed as part of our installation of Web Forms. Do you know if it will be suitable for use with APEX?

Should be, but mod_plsql can not be installed/configured with the edition of forms and reports Services. Get the full version number and check the documentation.

I can find basic descriptions) 1 Oracle Application Express Listener and; 2) oracle HTTP Server and mod_plsql. but I don't see anything telling me why I should pick one over the other (or both work together?)

No, they are quite distinct. The determining factors that usually would be if you were already using / licensed for OAS/OHS 10 g or one of the other web/app servers for which mod_plsql isn't available, and what else you wanted to do with the web/application server.

    Are there performance differences?

Not as far as I know. So much better than the EPG.

One is easier to set up with APEX than the other?

I am not able to comment, having never used the listener of the APEX, or any of the servers used with it. I never had any problems with APEX, mod_plsql, OHS, Apache (although many with the OAS and other things - including forms!).

You are already using OAS/OSH should probably try it as your DBA already has some experience with it.

  • Installations of multiple Apex on the same server

    Hello

We plan to spend some of the data in our Oracle database to another database on the same server.
Now the problem is that there are a number of Apex applications that use these data.
So I wonder if it is possible to create a second installation of Apex (and HTTP server?) on the same server, connect to the new database.

We use the database with Oracle HTTP server and Apex 3.1.2 10.2.0.4.

    Thank you

    Hello

a database can have only one installation of APEX active. But you can have several databases with an APEX in each database
on the same server. You can even use the same HTTP server - you just neen an additional inscription of DADDY for the second database APEX
in your dads.conf file, for example

It is a symptom of textbooks classic does not have read and followed the original instructions to prepare the downloaded files.  You should have two files zip files.  They both must be decompressed in the same directory.  If you unzip using Windows graphic interface - in right click on the name of the file and selecting "extract all...". "the default behavior will be to create a directory, the same name as the zip file and extract in it.  Thus, file_1_of_2 pulls in directory_1_of_2 and file_2_of_2 extracted in directory_2_of_2.  You must override this stupid behavior by default and specify the directory yourself.  And specify the SAME directory for both files.

Or just go to a command prompt, change directories to the directory where the two zip files are located and deliver "unzip " and "unzip ", and they will both be properly unpack to a directory named "database".

  • Deny access to drive C on the installation of oracle database

    Hello

Can someone help me, I have installed the Oracle 11 g database on my computer and now I can't access my C drive, and also the Installation was not complete. What should I do to release this drive?

I moved this thread on the forum of XE. Yet once installed Oracle do not mess with the operating system. PL identify the exact version of the OS - versions supported are documented in the Installation Guide - Oracle & reg; Database Express Edition

It is best to follow the instructions in the Installation Guide, assuming you have a supported operating system version.

  • Regarding the Installation of Oracle 11.2.0.2

I want to install oracle in my server linux86-64 11.2.0.2 charges.
Do I have to install all the 7 patches for this task?

    It will be very useful
    Thank you.

    Manish Subedi says:
    Hello
As you said that centOS is not tenable, but instead when I installed 11.2.0.1, it allows the installation of oracle without any error.
But when install us the patches of oracle11.2.0.2 on the same system, he throws the error: require 64-bit OS.
I think the installation is possible on centOS (64-bit).
I also recall that our server is linux86-64.

"not supported" does not mean that the installation will always be error power off. It does not mean that the product does absolutely not. It simply means there will be no support if you are having problems. It may or may not work, but if it does not, you're on your own.

If you have objections please let me inform.
Thank you for your support and hope for a response more than you all.

Could someone help me with this problem?... did I miss something?... How can I get it works... and actual database stuff ' there...

    See you soon

I had the same problem and that you run in the slide of Ray on how install Oracle on Snow Leopard. Pretty Ray's Web site was still linked directly from Oracle download site :) The key step for me was that the $ORACLE_HOME/bin/oracle binary is not OK and should be replaced. It can be downloaded from Ray. (I was a little nervous about downloading a binary executable, but Ray is directly related to Oracle if he has earned my trust.)
TADAAAA: dbca run flawlessly and now I can't system@orcl :))) sqlplus

Here's the URL for Ray guide:

  • The installer of Oracle Database 11 g: Administration Workshop I Ed 2 D50102GC20

It landed at me to set up a database of Oracle 11 g: Administration Workshop I Ed 2 D50102GC20 in environment OEL (Oracle Enterprise Linux).
Easier said then done when you're not fluent in Oracle.

Configuration guides distributed RESOURCES (D50102GC20_setup_doc) leave some hope when it comes to clarity.

"*" 13.     Create a script (for example, setupasm.sh) from the following commands, and then run the script to create the ASM disks: «*»

This urge to script to run the command "oracleasm', 'oracleasm' is not included in the standard installation of OEL and it is not included
in the installation guide either. I added the OracleASMLib:s I could find via [http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/linux/asmlib/index.html | http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/linux/asmlib/index.html].
which of course is not distributed for OEL openly but only for some RedHat Distributions.

To download OracleASM for OEL, an account of LSN is required, but I do not have an account.

+ "Getting ASMLib without a ULN subscription +".
+ While the pilot and support tools are on the Enterprise Linux installation media, the oracleasmlib RPM is not (this package allows Oracle to access the kernel driver). +

+ This package is available on the LSN. The LSN subscribers can use up2date (8) to download and install the package on their servers. +
+ Non-subscribers are free to use the similar package built for RHEL on their Enterprise Linux machines. +
+ New subscribers of LSN that happens to use the oracleasmlib package RHEL version are invited to update the package of LSN. » +

Here is a version of Red Hat does not support
    [http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/linux/asmlib/rhel5.html | http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/linux/asmlib/rhel5.html]

BUT, it is not a third party version of the kernel (Kernel 2.6.18 - 92.el5) naturally.

Any thoughts on the version that could be compatible?
When searching for this, I found this:

    Page 18:

+ "If you want to upgrade an existing Oracle ASM, then you need to upgrade Oracle ASM +".
+ by running an Oracle grid infrastructure upgrade. * If you do not have Oracle ASM + *.
    * + installed and want to use Oracle ASM as your storage option, then you must + *.
    * + complete an Oracle grid infrastructure installation before you start your Oracle + *.
    * + Installation of the database. » +*
    [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e10840.pdf | http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e10840.pdf]

Installation of network infrastructure all of a sudden? I don't know what to believe or think.

In any case, keep reading the installation instructions:

    * "14. Make sure the Oracle 11 g database ("database software and clusterware are staged in the following directories: ' *)

Clusterware? Clusterware is even part of the 11G? I failed to find it and read things like:

+ "After reviewing the documentation it became obvious that the Clusterware CD is now replaced by the new CD of grid Infrastructure 11 GR 2." +
    [http://www.itsarva.com/ittopicsblog/?p=338 | http://www.itsarva.com/ittopicsblog/?p=338]

I have my doubts. And is it supposed to be installed or just copied? English is not my mother tongue but "staged" language for me is open to interpretation and in both directions (installed <>- copied, resident)

Any help in this regard is appreciated!

Well Yes, this one is a bear. I wonder where you got the installation instructions. (Or... why you ask in the Forums.)

The instructions come from Oracle University Resource Center ([http://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/ou_ourc.new_home]) and the reason for posting me here is the official contact of Oracle that I cannot help me with support or whatever it is technical and cannot refer me to someone who can help.

Please have your Oracle contact talk to Don (responsible for the North American OR partner) put you and I in official contact.

I did the full install and can lead you through it. But in doing so in the forums is not appropriate.

  • Regarding the Installation of Oracle BI Applications

    Hi all

I was going through the documentation for the Oracle BI Applications, probably the old version.

    I. DAC has previously been installed as one of the components as well as the installation of Oracle's Applications of BI?

Now, I have installed the Oracle BI Applications version 7.9.6.1. and the DAC is not installed with it. It is available in a package separate from the OTN site.

Old Documentation says: "DAC installation is part of the * Oracle BI Analytics installation *", referring to what is said: what I've learned, it's there:
    1. "infrastructure oracle installation.
    2. "installation of oracle BI Applications.
    3 "Installing Informatica Powercenter.
4 "Installation of DAC" in packaging separate.

II. what does mean by * "installing Oracle BI Analytics?" It is part of all above mentioned installation or a separate installation.

    Kind regards
    Anthony.

    This is a separate installation

Correct, you must install it separately

II. what does mean by * "installing Oracle BI Analytics?" It is part of all above mentioned installation or a separate installation.

Documentation of the olive TREE is not very good, there a lot of ambiguities like the one you quote.

    http://rnm1978.WordPress.com/2009/07/30/what-is-Obia/

    Basically, you need to install:
    Informatica Server & Client
    DAC & Client Server
    OBIEE
    Metadata Informatica (repository)
    Metadata (repository) DAC
Metadata OBIEE (repository RPD and WebCat)
    Schema of the Data Warehouse

The Installation Guide provides the official list. Go to http://tahiti.oracle.com, select your version and find the Setup instructions for your OS family.

http://www.Oracle.com/pls/db102/homepage, you will have to the docs of 10gr 2. ON this page, to the right, you will see a region speak installation docs.
