Installation of Oracle WebCenter Suite 11g
Hi all
We have a requirement where we need to install full Oracle WebCenter Suite 11 g. I think starting with a component at a time, in the process began with WebCenter content, and once he did want to go with other products. Is this approach feasible?
Now, when you install WebCenter content do we need to have Oracle SOA suite as well (compulsory) for some components or can we ignore it and install necessary at a later point in time?
Can someone please answer my questions above to go ahead with the installation?
Thank you
Moore
Hello
What previously mention Webcenter suite and Soa Suite is two different products as a whole.
When you say "our development Team wishes to explore the product and it's features" then now you install just webcenter content. With this installation, you will be able to extend the content area for the three products namely Webcenter Capture, Webcenter, Webcenter Imaging.AXF tables will be automatically created under the scheme of imagery.
Once you want to integrate AXF SOA then go ahead and install SOA suite in same or different area and integrate them. (So at this point, you can skip this step associated with SOA).
Note: AXF BPM necessary suite BPM and AXF for BPEL need SOA Suite (BPM is yet another product built on SOA suite)

WebCenter suite 11g Installation
Hello
I install WebCenter Suite 11 g. As a first step, I have install oracle 11g in a virtual machine since the oracle 10.2.0.2 runs in my machine and it cannot be stopped.
The virtual machine is in my machine.
In the DB of VM, I create a user named user2 to test and connect it via SQL developer.
username: test2
password: test2
Host name: 192.168.222.222
Port: 1521
SID: orcl
This works.
Then I install the UCR in my machine (no virtual machine). The UCR need me to key in the denunciation of the DB.
Host name: 192.168.222.222
Prot: 1521
Service name: orcl
user name: sys
password: *.
Role: SYSDBA
However, it displays error messages:
Unable to connect to the database using the contact information provided.
Please enter a valid host name and a port or check if the listener is runningYou can increase the setting PROCESS of the db at 300 with
ALTER SYSTEM SET processes=300 SCOPE=spfile;
The UCR should work without errors after restarting the database (I had the same problem).

Oracle BPM 10gR 3-Oracle SOA Suite 11g
I'm not sure that some body else already asked.
I produced Oracle BPM in production which is fine and happy with the way it works. Its developed from Version: 10.3.1.0.0 build: 100364 #. We use custom JSP, JavaComponent, etc. GRANDPA in this.
We are thinking of migrating to SOA to Oracle 11g Suite.
Is there any tool for that? If this isn't the case, nothing provided for?
Do we need to re - write our application BPM from 10 g to 11 g? What all parties might need to re - write? To answer your question in the right way, I fear that there is no direct migration path of OBPM 10 g to Oracle SOA Suite 11 g. You will need to write to us - many things like
1. the present of the BPM API are not public. If u will be something like GRANDPA as OBPM
2. There is no support for PBL/Java in Oracle 11 g BPM. However, if you want to use the custom Java component you can use BPEL or spring with BPM. After all, each component is packed inside a single composite.
3. it is recommended to have all of the dashboards and UI user developed with ADF if you are with Oracle SOA Suite 11 g but even if you have a JSP that shouldn't be a problem. This topic has been discussed a few days in this forum. You can find the thread here

Resolution of the error Code: DRG-13606 in Oracle WebCenter content 11g
Hello
We use OracleTextSearch with content WebCenter 11 g. When you use OracleTextSearch, games of search results with more than 2048 results generates an error when you try to navigate to a page that contains the result of the 2048e or higher.
The show traces:
DRG-13606: start_hit_num off valid 1.2048 scope or is not specified.
How can this problem be solved?
We use Oracle 11 GR 1 material - 11.1.1.7.0 - idcprod1 - 140107 T 203253 (Build: 7.3.4.184) & database Version:11.2.0.3.0
Thank you
Hi Arun,
When more than 2048 results are returned, the result set returned from the database has a max of 2048 rows. The error occurs when users try to access a page of results of research beyond the results of 2048. Results with OracleTextSearch games have a limit of 2048. When the value of the end_hit_num in the result of descriptor is greater than 2048, the error occurs. This systemdatabase tracking shows a disabled end_hit_num which will return the error. This is a limitation of the product.
12582138 patch resolves this issue for the database. There is a patch of the database, not a content server patch.
I hope this helps.
Thank you
Srinath

Oracle WebCenter content configuration
Hi all
I have install and configure Oracle WebCenter content 11g for development purposes, as part of it have installed the Oracle WebCenter content and also created managed servers required. Now I'm setting up Oracle WebCenter Content and I don't know if I can skip these steps and go further.
https://docs.Oracle.com/middleware/11119/WCC/install/config.htm#INECM201
- Article 3.8, 'Configuration of SSL for Applications Oracle WebCenter content'
- Section 3.9, "Reassociating the storage of identification with an external LDAP authentication provider"
- Section 3.10, "adding users in Oracle Internet Directory.
- Article 3.11, "Configuration of Single Sign-On (SSO).
- Section 3.12, "integrating Web Oracle WebCenter content layer".
- Article 3.13, "Configuration of managed Server Clusters."
- Article 3.14, "Oracle Web Services Security Configuration Manager.
Thank you
Moore
Probably yes, but it really depends on what goals, your system must be used to.
Just in case it is not obvious, I'll write a short comment to each of your points:
Greater security - SSL - 3.8, the prevention of the man-in-the-middle sniff for content
3.9 - external LDAP - for development, you can go with WebLogic server embedded LDAP, but it can also be convenient to use an external; especially if you take identities that are already defined in your organization
3.10 - associated 3.9 (you need to set your users at least in one place, or all your developers will have to use the "weblogic" account)
3.11 - SSO - for a stand-alone system possibly unnecessary, but should improve you in several systems (e.g. WebCenter portal content, or content WebCenter WebCenter + BPEL/BPM) it could could be convenient set SSO
3.12 - WebTier - only if you want to use the features of some WebTier (e.g. Caching), or need to install the web server on a different HW as the server application (in general, behind the firewall)
3.13 - incubators - only if you need it (perhaps not necessary for the dev TEAM, but some systems TEST should have if you too in PROD)
3.14 - WS security - needed if the system will be accessible to other clients via WS, particularly if these clients are located behind a firewall

Passage of Oracle SOA Suite from 11.1.1.6 to 11.1.1.7
My Organization put in place of Oracle SOA Suite 11g platform about 1.5 years. We are running version 11.1.1.6 and have about deployed composite 90. We use BPEL, Ombudsman and the technology at this time (we are not yet using OSB).
We intend to improve 11.1.1.6 to 11.1.1.7 soon (not quite ready to make the jump to 12.1.3). In this context, I understand that we need to upgrade the runtime of SOA Suite environment as our development environment (JDeveloper) 11.1.1.6 to 11.1.1.7. I am also aware that there are 4 bundle patches, published on top of 11.1.1.7.0 that is us on the application (by Doc ID 1485949.1).
I wanted to ask the community of users and see if others have any advice or tips to share in this minor update. Is it necessary to redeploy existing SOA composite after this upgrade, or are they upgraded 'on site '?
Appreciate any useful comment,
Jeremy
After upgrading to 11.1.1.7, your 11.1.1.6 composites will / should continue its work on time. You don't need to redeploy composites to make them work after upgrade.
It is recommended to try the upgrade on a test environment and verify that 11.1.1.7 is working fine for you.

I hope that is not available on the sites of the oracle, Oracle requires clients to use the new versions just always.

check for spaces or a character that could happen even if you specify the location of the JRE, you can also call runInstaller with
i.e; have - jreLoc, the path in the cmd.. / runInstaller - jreLoc /root/Oracle/Middleware/jdk160_14_R27.6.5-32
that should work.

Hello
I am an oracle applications developer and want to learn how SOA. I would like to install SOA suite 11 g on my computer laptop windows 7, but I read an article on apps2fusion.com, saying it would slow down terribly and may even corrupt Windows operating system files.
Is that true and if so, how install it safely without any mess. This could be a basis of SB, but I couldn't find a good online documentation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
I wouldn't worry about installing corrupt Windows operating system files. However, it will definitely slow down your PC. If you are looking for a facility that won't affect your ability to use Windows, I download Oracle virtual box install an OS in VirtualBox and then install SOA Suite in the VirtualBox. This will allow you to 'fork' more soa and all of its components still active as the database, when you do not need.
Once you have downloaded virtualBox, install your operating system preferred in it. If you are using Windows 7 and you want it to be the OS used inside VirtualBox, you will need a special touch to it. However, there are a multitude of free Linux variant. My favorite is CentOS.
Once you have installed an operating system in VB Oracle, so go ahead and download the appropriate files to install SOA Suite. Please note that SOA suite installation locally requires the installation of Weblogic, a local database Oracle (the database single user works fine), as well as the installation of the entire suite SOA. In addition, you'll also probably want to download and install SOAPUi which is a great tool to test service endpoints.
To get all this to work properly, you will need a lot of RAM. Currently, my Toolbox (running on Windows 7 Pro, not in VB Oracle) can use (including the total operating system) up to 5.5 GB. For the above configuration, I would suggest that this amount is available for your VirtualBox and more whatever your OS needs on the host system.
Alternatively, if you install the largest components (Weblogic and the database) on a server, you can simply use in your tests.
Please let me know if that helps.
