Installation of software on Mac Pro

Can someone tell if it is safe to install "Crossover Mac software ' of Code weavers Inc. on my Mac Pro in order to run a Windows program?

The software is probably safe, if acquired from the manufacturer's website and no other source.

Here is the web site of the manufacturer; additional information about their product is also there.

• Filter 15: running Windows on Mac and Linux - CodeWeavers software:

https://www.CodeWeavers.com/

If you have a material suitable for virtual systems or other software to run on your Mac, the

results should be fair. Parallels is a good virtual machine for operating system running Windows on a Mac.

• Run Windows on Mac with Parallels - without reboot:

http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/

Your question can be found in the section of MacBook (12-inch retina 2015 +); ask Mac Pro.

The 'Mac Pro' is the high-end desktop, not a laptop computer. And then, there's a model

known as the MacBook Pro. Which apply to your question? What are its features?

A host may move this thread to a correct CSA, because the retina 12-inch MacBook isn't MacPro.

Good luck!

  • Re-installation of software on Mac

    Hi all

My apologies if this has already been asked before-

I currently have 6 Photoshop and Lightroom installed on my PC and I'm about to reformat my Mac.

Once I have reformat the computer, how can I reinstall the software? I think that my license only allows me to have a single installation, so I don't know how to reinstall once I formatted the computer.

Do I need to uninstall and unregister to re-install? I don't know how it works. Any ideas? Help would be appreciated!

  • Stuck Installing boot camp software support on Windows 10 for Mac Pro mid-2014

    Hello world.

    I have a mac pro mid-2014.

I installed windows 7 using boot camp and all worked fine

But my SSD has had some problems so I took it to the shop they replaced the SSD.

SO now I have a blank disc. I restored time machine (I deleted the windows partition when I back up)

now, I have just a single partition being original, I started to install Windows 10 by boot camp as usual. every thing works,

created the USB (I used a disk portable 1 TB, I bought recently), downloaded software and then prompted me to make the partition.

subsequently handed over running and starts the installation. window has installed fine and started, the boot camp installation window pops up and I click Next.

now, he will be always stuck to the point trying to install realtek audio.

no progress, no error report. I had to close the installation later, may not close properly due, try force end it.

have tried mnay times, tried windows 10 business and education. they are all stuck at the same point

    I don't see how I was wrong.

  • Installation 10.11.6 El Capitan with 10.6.8 Snow Leopard on old Mac Pro 4.2 multiboot?

Looking for savvy here advice...  I have an old Mac Pro 4.2 (cheese grater) that runs Snow Leopard 10.6.8.  It is a wonderful workhorse machine, who served me tirelessly for many years.  It is obviously older and slower, but works very well.  I love 10.6.8.  If Apple ever updated the Mac Pro line (I know, probably not... sigh...), I'll buy one and replace this machine.  Until then, I keep doing this work.

This machine is a beast, has been upgraded with internal hard drives 1 TB three (he also got a couple internal HDs inherited from 750 and 500 MB used for storage).  I have also several external 1-4 to, hip, FW800 drives too.  A host of storage, of course, and should be a lot of options to start on several systems.

I am generally satisfied with 10.6.8 on this machine, although there are obvious limits to that.  I would get one or two operating systems newer on it, pick-and-choose between them according to the needs, but I absolutely want to/need to preserve the ability to initiate and run 10.6.8 systematically as my operating system on the day the day, at least for now.  Maybe I'll warm to one of the others on this machine eventually, but 10.6.8 must remain usable, install a newer OS on other readers may not nerve there.

On a year-and-a-half ago, I took a race to install 10.10.3 Yosemite on one of the internal disks.  This doesn't quite work.  I moved, sniffed Yosemite everywhere, don't really like it a lot and went to restart and him switch back to 10.6.8 for a bit.  Initially, it was impossible (from less than I expected, would be the same old process, I have always used, via system preferences > startup disk).  You can read the details of this experience here and more here if you are interested.  This latest attempt to get Yosemite on this machine was a very negative experience.  Yosemite is still there on an internal HD, but I tried not to boot on it since then.

Now I take another look at this.  What is the engine now, is that I want to update my iPad Mini 3 iOS 10.  But that (update of an iDevice iOS 10) requires iTunes 12.5.1.  And iTunes 12.5.1 requires Mac OS X 10.9.5 or newer - it won't work with 10.6.8.  I'm looking for my options.

Right now, I have three large internal HDs: HD #1, 2 # HD and HD #3, each 1 TB.

HD #1 has 10.10.3 Yosemite on this.  I started from this time and have not resumed since.

HD #2 has 10.6.8 Snow Leopard top.  This is my main operating system and startup of daily drive.

HD #3 is nothing special about it.

Although HD #1's Yosemite about that, I have only started from this disc once and hesitate to go back, at least until I can get a way easy and reliable to restart off HD #2.

I understand that I can also get 10.11.6 El Capitan.  I thought that installing on HD #3.  That sounds like a reasonable to add option, but again, I want to make sure it won't cause problems to switch back to start off HD #2 in Snow Leopard (such as installation of Yosemite on HD #1).

What is the best way for me to go about safely - preserve the option to start easily in 10.6.8 on HD #2?

    Thanks for the help!

If you start or restart now Option (Alt) key and calls the Startup Manager, you should be given the choice at the start of any boot disk OS X on any of the readers.

  • Mac Pro 1.1 2006 fails installation of Mac OS x after the kernel panic

    Hi all

A few days ago, I have known repeated panics of the kernel starting with my mac pro xeon quad core 1.1 (2006).

It was not impossible to access the system (to the start screen kernel panic), impossible to access SafeMode (stuck at apple logo stuck charging symbol), I decided to do a clean install of the system (Lion).

Installation is anyway impossible, because when I plug the usb with lion pen, he anyway stucks at the apple screen logo and freezes loading (the same problem also occurs if I burn image of lion uploaded on the apple store on a dvd).

I tried the dvd and usb pen on another computer and installation went flawless.

Then, I tried to reset the SMC, reset the PRAM, but it's always the same.

Then I tried to do an apple hardware test (full expanded mode) and after 55 minutes of testing, he said no. PROBLEMS DETECTED.

    What I try to do?

    Thank you very much.

I don't remember if it works in Lion, but see if you have the time to hit the keys CMD + L when the installation starts, to get a visible history of the NSO will.

  • How can I add a previously installed windows on my mac pro installation

Hi guys, everything becomes to collect my newly bought mac pro 3.1 (used). I'm moving PC, but how do I add my existing installation of windows on my mac? The mac pro is 3.1 and has 2 x 500 GB disks in a raid 1 TB configuration. It's just a matter of plugging my windows disk (I'm guessing No.) or is it a bit more complex than that? Any help or advice will be appreciated and hope to give back as much help as I get that I'm learning. Thank you

You can install Windows on a Mac computer using Boot Camp Assistant or by using a Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox virtual machine natively. Refer to the instructions of Boot Camp located here: http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/. OT If using a virtual machine see the instructions located on the Parallels, Fusion or VirtualBox sites.

In both cases you can not use a PC already existing installation of Windows. You need to reinstall Windows on your Mac.

  • Is it possible to connect my Mac mini to my Mac Pro laptop using the memory on my mac mini for installing software Ableton as I don't have 3 GB available on my Mac Pro.

Is it possible to connect my Mac mini to my Mac Pro laptop using the memory on my mac mini for installing software Ableton as I don't have 3 GB available on my Mac Pro.

I want to download Ableton software, but it requires 3 GB of free memory that I have available on my MacPro laptop not because most of it is used for my library of music because I'm a DJ.

I'm not sure how I can do it or not at all.

    Thank you very much.

    1. a Mac Pro is not a laptop. Its a big desktop computer.  You probably have a MacBook Pro, which is a laptop.

    2. No, you cannot share the memory (live RAM) or storage (disk space, which is not memory) like that between computers.

However, it is very very bad practice to have so little storage space available for your computer.   If you have less than 3 GB, you should seriously consider an external drive. and unload some files on the outside. Its best not to leave your hard drive to go below 10 GB of free space because it can seriously affect your computer's performance.

  • Installation of Win 7 Pro 64-bit on Mac Pro (Intel) with Boot Camp

Trying to install OEM Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on a Mac Pro (Intel based computer) using Boot Camp (with Apple OS X 10.6). The installation went well until the system reboots to the CD with the OEM Windows 7 drive in the Bay. At that time there a MS-DOS appears on the screen that looks like this:

    1.

    2.
Select the Startup Type of the CD-ROM:

There is a blinking cursor (line underscore) after the semicolon, but everything I type on the keyboard appears on the screen when the cursor blinks. I use a USB keyboard connected to the computer for the installation, so I know it works. This blocked me.

Is it possible that the OEM version is causing this problem? Can I use a regular full version of Windows 7? Do not spend money to buy, then discover it displays the same screen.

I'll check with both Apple Support, but it seems strange that everything went very well with the installation until the Windows 7 loaded into the Bay. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Are you sure you are using the right drive?

The OEM versions include a disc OPK and the Windows 7 installation disc, make sure you use the right one.

Also, insert the disc, press C on your keyboard and select the Windows 7 disc to boot from it.

Releasing it's easy: with Windows | ActiveWin | Laptops | Microsoft MVP

    Hello

Creative cloud apps cannot be migrated as a return to the top, you will need to download and install apps as a new on the new machine, please follow the steps below to remove and reinstall the creative cloud application:

  • An error occurred when attempting to change modules?  New installation on Mac Pro

OK, I use LR since version 3.  I used it on Mac and windows. I was part of the program cloud creatives photographers for a year.  I recently got a new MAC Pro and setup the creative cloud thereon.  Photoshop, bridge and first test all work fine.  Lightroom, the application I use the most, does not work.  I get the above message.  I searched the troubleshooting tips and tried them - no results - I deleted LR and installed from a DVD - no change.

I also noticed there are a lot of reports of this error on the forum and very little "problem solved" annotations - it also disturbs me that users have reported this error for what looks like a long time - it doesn't seem to be a new show. ".  It is a recurring issue that has not been set or is a container for lots of different reasons/questions?

I am seriously disappointed that LR does not work on my new Mac Pro that I intend to move my photography work to this new computer.  All Adobe solutions?

I tried the Solutions 1,2,4 and 5 on Fri/Sat.  No joy.  Today, I went back and looked at the troubleshooting guide again and realized that I had not tried solution 6.

6 solution solved the problem.  I still argue that this is a recurring question and as Keith_Reeder said "it is not a managed exception.  May not be a priority issue for Adobe but a frustrating for users.

Solution 1: Install the update of current Lightroom.

Solution 2: Re-create the preferences file.

Solution 3: Create a different catalog.

Solution 4 (Lightroom 3) uninstall Nik Software plug-ins - NA

Solution 5: Set the correct permissions on the Lightroom Application Support folder

Solution 6: Try a different user account.
