Installation of the server of the IMP - comprehension questions

Hello

I have some experience of installation and configuration Cisco Unified presence (CUPS) and I try to understand his move to e-mail & Instant presence (IM & P).  I heard that IM & P is part of CUCM now and doesn't have to be its own server.  I installed 10.5 CUCM in a lab environment, but can not find the services or settings related to the GI & P anywhere.  This is a feature that is added after the installation of CUCM?

In addition, during the review of literature Proctorlabs, I understand that IM & P can be its own stand-alone server.  The independent is installed from the disk CUCM with CUCM eggs or with a different eggs (as you need for Cisco Unified login).  When I installing CUCM with CUCM eggs, there is no option anywhere for IM & P.

Any clarification is appreciated.

I think that CIM & P is still a stand alone server, but a lot of the user final CIM & P management has been moved to CUCM.  Previously, it was just licenses in CUCM.  But now licenses and all profile configurations are made on CUCM.  That specific server things are really done on CIM & P

  • installation of the application 10g (10.1.2) on RedHat 5 Server

Hi, I read a lot on the site of Oracle on RedHat 5 is now certified on server applications recently (in April).

My question is: what steps do you need to install application server 10.1.2? Install the 10.1.2 not certified version first and then install the patch? I use a Redhat 5 server install on and I get errors during installation (regarding the missing operating system packages so I had to do some kernel parameter changes) when I install 10.1.2 application server on Redhat 5. But after that I started to read the documentation further, I realized that the RedHat 5 has not been certified for this version of the application server. But later I saw on April 15 that the status has changed.

So I was wondering if anyone knew the steps I need to do in order. If anyone knows a document out there, it's still better.

Thank you! If I don't get all the answers, I'll just check Metalink. I am documenting what I pass by these installs with screenshots I have go through it. I just want to know what to expect.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8000: installation of the driver wireless Officejet 8000 Pro says default gateway is 0.0.0.0

I'm chasing a well-documented problem of my printer lost network connection after a variable period of printing to do not. The only way to connect is to change the power supply, but the printer may take 5 minutes to blow and grunts until it settles and prints...

I put a static IP address on the printer (10.0.0.250) as well as an empty default gateway successfully, and the documents are printed after 5mins of blowing and grunting (save the regular lost connection which I'm hunting...).

I put what I thought has a static IP address on the router to match (see image below), but now I don't know if it was necessary, and if the 'hosting of the fixed DHCP server' is correct. It might be useless and missleading...

Using the configuration of the printer to 10.0.0.250 interface, it seems to accept the installation of the network when the default gateway is blank. With the help of 10.0.0.2 caused the 'page not found' error in my browser (Chrome).

However, when you try to reinstall the drivers, the installer has grumbled to the default gateway is set to 0.0.0.0, which currently is the only way it will work...

The Win7 PC is plugged into the router.
The printer wireless to the router.

ipconfig on the pc gives Ethernet card details below.

So basically I have no idea what I'm doing...!

    ==============

Ethernet connection to the Local network card:

    The connection-specific DNS suffix. :
    Link-local IPv6 Address...: fe80::c8e1:63ef:85e0:7 24% 13 c.
    IPv4 address...: 10.0.0.249
    ... Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.
    ... Default gateway. : 10.0.0.2.

    Router config.

Thank you for your comments. It seems that I solved the problem of the default gateway. Time will tell if the remains of the printer connected through long periods of no use (see update below).

It seems that the configuration of the router of the "DHCP fixed existing host" has nothing to do with the device assigned a static IP address. In fact, it seems that this setting prevents the printer through a default gateway of the router address.

I noticed that when you give the PC a fixed IP, it connected through the router without any other configuration of router. If I reasoned that it may be applied to the printer also, so I moved the printer 10.0.0.251 and Bingo! the default gateway can be set to the IP address of the route.

Since then I downloaded to other updates, which is supposed to correct the common problem of wireless printers, loss of the connection.

I'll try to report in the next few weeks an update about the stability of connection network printers.

    UPDATED: May 23, 2016

And more of the foregoing, my router support suggested I increase a parameter "timeout" from 24 hours to 10 days. I did it more than a week. Today, the printer worked after the impression of not for about 5 days

Since the installation of the latest update on my iPad, I'm unable to type a new address in the address bar of Safari. I can access the Web sites of my favorites, but when I press the address bar Safari closes its doors.

  • Working Group stopped after the installation of the new wireless router

My working group stopped working after the installation of the new wireless router.  Router was switched were to move from DSL to fiber optic.

I have a very simple home with two laptops working group, the two are connected with a wireless router.  A PC is running XP with the updates and service packs; the other PC is Windows 7 Home premium.  This working group was running without problems for a few years.  The Working Group has been used to share files between two laptops.  Internet access was through the DSL wireless router and print was with a wireless printer, without going through the working group.

I had my DSL set out to free fiber optic last week, which meant that a new wireless router has been installed by my local phone company.  Internet works fine; wireless printer works.  The working group no longer works.  When I try to connect from XP to Win7 and I click on mode workgroup computers, I get this message:

WorkGroupName is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

The network path was not found.

I tried to create a new working group, the new name for the same workgroup on both machines, but this did not help.  Working groups are supposed to be simple; This seems to be a problem on the new router - telco tech support says that nothing is stuck on the router. I don't believe them.

What version of XP you use (Home or Pro)?

Can you access the Win 7 a XP computer?

You have identical accounts, passwords on both computers?

If all that was done was to change routers without making any changes on the computers, the most likely cause of the problem is a third party (other than Windows) firewall on at least one of the computers.  Being by default, a router automatically assigns IP addresses to computers on your local network.  Different brands of routers, but use different address ranges.  For example, Cisco/Linksys routers typically use the 192.168 form addresses. 1.1 with 192.168. 1. 254, while the D-Link routers typically use 192.168.1 to 192.168.0.0. 254.  A firewall configured to allow only the first IP range blocks communication to the scope of the latter.

So... What is the name and version of your anti-virus program?
What other security software is installed?

On every laptop computer, open a command prompt window
for XP: start > run > cmd > OK
for Win 7: type cmd.exe in the search box and press enter
In the black command prompt window, type the following command and press enter
    ipconfig

Please provide the values for the following for the adapter wireless of each computer
    IP (XP)
    IPv4 address (Win 7)
    Default gateway

  • Best practices for installation of the equipment of the unit

Is it possible to use the CD of hardware for installation with the unit while I'm using the correct equipment. Or is it recommended to install from scratch and apply the updates of security on the Unity software page.

    Thank you

    Tim

I think that you are writing about Hardware configuration CD of the CallManager. If you are, then this is a NO-NO.

You need the disks of the Platform Configuration that is provided with the server if you have purchased the license for the windows 2000 Server.

So, if you don't have the disks in the Configuration of the platform, you can download the driver from HP hard drive controller and install Windows manually. Install SP4, IE6 Sp1 and you can use automatic Windows Update If you follow this guide:

Support policy for the automatic update of Windows

  • G729 installation on the unit instead if G711

    Hello

I do unity 404 UM installed under Win Server 2003, out of area Exchange 2003 Service Pack 1, CCM 4.0.2a I did a number of facilities by selecting G711 so very uncomfortable with it, but never made a 729 installation.

The customer wants to use G729. during the installation. I wonder if there are issues and or I should be aware of the requirements?

Also, is the address IP phone to call manager {711 to 729} transcoding to the unit or do I resources of external hardware transcoding?

Can I quickly put it to 711 if the customer is not satisfied with the sound quality of the voice mail?

Or anything out of the ordinary you may know?

    Thank you.

During the installation of the call the SCCP (Skinny) end points (unit/IP Phone) say CallManager what codecs they support. CallManager then negotiates the codec and indicates endpoints to use when calling. If CallManager told him to use g.711ulaw and guests are in g.729br8, then the unit will be software transcodes the file g.711ulaw and place it on the wire.

The theory of having second guest sets in g.729 is that if all calls will be to g.729, that it is not sensible for the unit to have to transcode every single call.

Unless the customer intends to have more than half of the calls don't calls g.729, then there is no reason to install g.729 guest.

You can switch back to g.711 guests by re-running the installer.

    Thank you

    Keith

  • Extension of the AD schema for second installation of the unit

A CCM 4.1.3 and a Unity 4.0.4 server will be installed in a forest AD already having a CCM (3.x) and the servers of the unit (3.x) maintenance of users on the side is. The new CCM servers and services unit to users on the West Coast, including the mailboxes resident also on Exchange 2003 servers on the West Coast.

When you install the unity server, what will be the consequences of the extension of the AD schema again for the new version of the unit? The schema has been extended during the installation of the 3.x version of the unit. Extension of the additional schema for the installation of the imminent 4.x Unit will have no effect on the existing unit? Or should the schema even extend again at all?

    Thank you

    Michael.

I see a problem that you may or may not have lived:

"Cisco Unity 3.1 does not support Exchange 2003. This means that you cannot run the tool of Exchange 2003 Forestprep to begin an upgrade to Exchange 2003, you can not have an Exchange 2003 server in the same forest, Active Directory as the Cisco Unity server, and you can not host subscribers Cisco Unity in Exchange 2003. Before you run Exchange 2003 Forestprep, you must first spend Cisco Unity version 4.0 (3) or later. Otherwise, the changes that Forestprep makes to Active Directory will cause Cisco Unity stop working. »

    See http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/prod_system_requirements_hardware09186a008010a339.html

If you had an exchange environment 2000, he would have just run the adschema unit 4.x configuration and the extension of the schema is backward compatible for 3.x. You can run the extension of the scheme for unity 4.x anytime before installing unity 4.x

If you want unity 4.x installed, you must extend the schema (even if the schema has been extended for unity 3.x).
