Installation of Vista 64 bit on the Satellite P500/025

I just bought a P500/025 and should have chosen installation 64 bit but installed 32-bit instead.
Could someone please give me instructions on how to install vista 64-bit on Vista 32 bit?

I will lose everything I have installed on my current installation of 32-bit?
Thanks in advance.

Before starting the discussion on the installation of Vista 64-bit, visit the Toshiba download page and check if this laptop is 64 bit supported and if you can find all drivers 64-bit.
I assume you have an Australian model of laptop. Do you have?

    Chris.

    Hello Chris,

Installation from recovery or a recovery partition disks ' "won't replace (wipe) the partitions that you created. The idea is to "valuing your system back to factory conditions", which means exactly that.

I suggest that you save all the information about the partitions that you created on a removable USB drive. As soon as you reinstalled windows, you can then recreate the partitions and copy the information from your removable USB hard drive hard disk internal.

You can simply DELETE THE WINDOWS. O file if your computer is running norml:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933212
This will give you more space.

If your computer does not correctly him follow these steps:

The single was is to back up all you produce, programs, data, but does not back up the WINDOWS. O file. You can delete the folder before making the back-up. Back to the top of your files before you begin reinstalling Windows, even if you're reinstalling Windows on a hard disk partition. A clean installation replaces the current version of Windows and all personal files

On start-up MODE MINIMAL step #7 you want to make sure that DELETE you PARTITIONS
It will give you an option and a list for delete you old partitions

  • Difference between the Satellite A500-025 and A500-02F

Satellite A500-02F costs about 10 percent more Satellite A500-025.

Satellite A500-02F is much better and worth the extra money or that they are basically the same. Satellite A500-02F has a chip T6066 from the T6065 in the Satellite A500-025 much difference?

Satellite A500-02F DDR3 memory, it will make much difference? All the other differences?

    Thank you.

    Hi junglo,

I think that you have answered the question yourself. Satellite A500-02F has a faster CPU and DDR3 memory. It should be a little faster in programs of they need a high-performance CPU and in games for example.

It s also according to the programs you want to use, but I would choose the faster model. I n buy t each year a new laptop then I would choose the fastest and 10% difference isn t so. ;)

Will there be an upgrade or not?

I don't think so. P500 is fairly old machine.

  • Satellite A300: Vista 64 bits after the new installation by using the recovery disk

I have a Toshiba Satellite A300 A300 / M00 and when I got it, it had Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit. But after awhile, I started to have problems so I decided to reinstall Vista on my laptop. After crossing with the product recovery media, my system become so 64-bit.

Was not my system suppose to have 32-bit when it was originally with her?
If no, then how can I install 32 bit once more on my laptop like 64-bit gives me problems with the installation of some of my programs.

If I need to buy a copy of Vista 32 Bit, where can I find the drivers for my system, because the product recovery media has all the drivers on this subject.

    Thank you for your time.

Hmm. Your ad is a little confusing.

Why would you say that Toshiba Recovery disk contains a version of Vista 64-bit?
    How did you check that?
From my experience, the Toshiba recovery disc still contains the preinstalled operating system.

Also as much as I know the new notebook from Toshiba are not delivered with the recovery disk, but with a HARD drive recovery option.
This option allows you to reinstall the OS from the second partition of HARD drive recovery.
Alternatively, you can use the preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator software to create the own recovery DVDs! And this recovery disk contains the same preinstalled OS!

    Good bye

  • 32-bit Windows Vista is installed on the Satellite A210 - 10 c 64-bit processor

    Hello

    I bought satellite a210 - 10 c with amd turion 64 X 2 processor, but I determined that I have * 32-bit * windows vista preinstalled. Does anyone know why?
Could I get the 64 bit instead of 32 bit version?

    > have 32-bit windows vista preinstalled. Does anyone know why?

May be due to the fact that all supplied laptops computers Toshiba have pre-installed 32-bit OS.
It s is not serious if it s Windows XP or Win Vista. The two operating systems installed on Toshiba laptops are 32-bit!

    > Could I get the 64 bit instead of 32 bit version?

You can buy a 64 bit Microsoft OS, but you won't get an OS 64 - bit of the Toshiba.

I have a toshiba satellite running a 32-bit vista. I got the upgrade windows 7 toshiba drive which contained both 32 and 64-bit. When I did a clean install of windows 7 it installed 32-bit. It gives me an option to install the 64-bit. Is it possible to install windows 7 64 bit?

Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit are on a separate disk, they are not both on a single disc.

  • Installation of Windows 7 64 bit on a Satellite P500

I bought the above system in August last year with 32-bit Windows 7 installed. I understand that it is not possible to upgrade and to a complete new installation. Is it necessary to format the hard drive first? Have backed up all my data (there was not a lot), but wonder if there is something else I need to know before you continue. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hello

I m a bit confused because I have too many Satellite P500 and, as far as I know, this laptop model comes with 64-bit only.
Can you please tell us what P500 you exactly (P500-xxx)?

You are right; before installation Win7 HDD needs to be formatted. If you have installed the OS in the past, I guess you know how it works.
Associated with Toshiba here are two things you should know before starting with the installation of Win7 64 bit:
    # Create recovery with the original Toshiba image DVDs. This disk, you can use if you want to have the factory settings once again.
    # Drivers, tools and utilities must be installed in the proper installation order. If you ned some hep with it let us know.

  • Change Win7 64-bit to 32-bit on the Satellite Pro C660-16N

    Hello.

    >... Satellite Pro C660-16N - Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium pre-installed...

Nobody knows what the best route is change Win7 64 bit for Win7 32 bit. This model has a 32-bit install on HARD drive recovery option?

Or he will have to do a clean install of Win7 32 bit DVD.

    Thank you very much.

I guess that this laptop is available with 64-bit only (specification) and there is only one way to install the version OS 32-bit, you must install it using original Microsoft Win7 32 bit installation disc.
Please note: for the activation of the operating system, you can use the product key from the sticker. You must purchase a new license for your own installation.

By the way: also check if this laptop model is supported for 32-bit version. You can do this on Toshiba support and download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

  • Where to find Win XP 64 bit for the Satellite M305D-S4830 energy management/conservation

I was able to completely load Windows XP 64-bit on my Satellite M305D-S4830 with all the drivers.
Everything is great except my battery only lasts is not too long to work.

I've searched but have not been able to find a working copy of Toshiba Power Saver that works on my laptop with XP 64.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Hello!

I think that you will not find a 64-bit version of Toshiba Power Saver.
Toshiba is not compatible XP 64 bits are therefore no available 64-bit software.

You must use the Windows settings or change you to Vista 64-bit. Vista has more options for saving energy and it s the same as energy saving.

  • Install Windows 7 64 bit and Vista 32 bit on the same drive

I have Vista 32 bit installed on my laptop. Media recovery is on a recovery partition, I have no recovery DVD such as $85 for something that should be included with my expensive laptop anyway, it is a bit much

I have a drive to upgrade Windows 7 from my laptop manufacturer that allows me to each upgrade or to start from scratch.

I want to install Windows 7 64 bit on a separate partition for the installation of my 32-bit Vista, but when I boot on the DVD there is no option to select the 32 or 64 bit, it only allows me to install the 32-bit version. I have partitions installed correctly then they arnt the problem. If I try to boot from the recovery partition to install Vista 64 bit on a separate partition, to upgreade can leave, he simply don't say so, it doesn't allow the recovery or replacement of my existing Vista installation. Also, often when I boot to recovery mode, by organizing 0 start up, he simply waits some time and the Vista of boots in any case.

How should I do to dual boot Windows 7 64 bit and Vista 32-bit, as all possible ways I have tried do not work, and I can't afford to buy the madmen of... Toshiba recovery media ?

The 'disc Windows 7 from the manufacturer of your laptop upgrade' can be used to improve the qualification system of operating from 32-bit of Windows Vista that was originally installed on the laptop.  It cannot be used for any other configuration or purpose. Carey Frisch

Actually, this isn't just a "upgrade drive" it's a full disc of Windows 7, I know that I can install full Windows 7 32 bit in a separate partition for Vista.

The problem is solved in any case, I managed to hide my Vista (C) install with Acronis and boot to the WIndows 7 DVD. It then allowed me to install Windows 7 64 bit on the other Partition, because he did not think that 32-bit Windows Vista has been installed on the HARD drive. I managed to deceive it by showing the menu options of 32 bits or 64 bits in this way... I assumed it was a protection system put in place by Microsoft to stop upgrade problems if soemone tried upgrade Vista 32, Windows 7 64

Now under Vista 32 and Widnws 7 64 on the same computer.

Hi, I'm new to this so any help greatly appreciated.

I have an Equium A100 02 L model PSAAQE OOPOOKAV
The hard drive failed completely, so I bought a new hard drive and installed, then used the Toshiba Windows Vista recovery Disc... all good so far!

Once the installation is completed without error along the way, the laptop restarts and starts windows during the initial installation of windows I get an error message saying 'installation of windows could not configure windows to run on a hardware on this computer "...

I tried to reinstall in case it was a problem but same thing every time... all the advice and help please

Have you used the recovery disc right out for the Equium A100 PSAAQE?
Make sure that you have used the right disc because the image on the disc also contains the drivers and if the pilots would be not compatible with the laptop, the system would crash.
