Installation SSD / old MacBook

I have a 13-inch, aluminum, late 2008 MacBook, 2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB memory. I read that I could improve performance by installing an SSD in this regard. I cleaned up as I can without any result. It is currently running Yosemite 10.10.5

Issues related to the:

1. is it a good idea to install on this particular computer?

2. If so, what SSD is recommended?

3. how?

Thx a lot.

I would like to take some time to check out OWC; When I upgraded my MBP to a SSD, I bought a "kit" including an external enclosure. When I arrived, I have temprarily installed the SSD in the enclosure, plugged on the MBP, formatted and then made a clone of my system using CarbonCopyCloner. Then I swapped both drives according to their directions and video and was ready to go as the operating system is already installed.

This should be for your (without checking):

You can also check in the upgrade of the RAM - you are under the recommended minimum - view information here and the note re. RAM:
