Installing more RAM in the laptop Vaio

I have a Vaio VPC-F1190X with 4 GB of RAM.  How many extra RAM can I add to it, and how should I do for this?  Thank you.

Hi motlaghs,

Welcome to the community of Sony!

Your Vaio VPCF1190X can handle up to 8 GB of RAM. If your computer has 4 GB, based on the specifications of your marketing, it has 2 X 2 GB RAM. Please click here for more information: https://docs.sony.com/release/specs/VPCF1190X_CTO_mksp.pdf

I hope this helps.

Best regards

Vincent

  • upgrading ram in the laptop of HP Pavilion g6t - 1B 00 CTO

is it possible to upgrade my ram from 4 GB to 8 GB of ram in the laptop of HP Pavilion g6t - 1B 00 CTO?

    Hey ranjith1992,

The maximum amount of RAM supported your model is 8GBs. The unit has 2 DIMM slots, so you need to get the memory 2 x 4 GB DDR3 modules. Take a look inside the machine to see how fast the 2 GB that you are there (for example, 1066 MHz) and buy 4 GB modules that match.

Here are some photos/instructions to help you get started: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02829479.pdf

Page 48 lists the tested/compatible memory modules and shows you how even to yourself! Additionally, make sure that you are using a 64-bit operating system in order to fully use the 8GBs - a 32 bit OS will see 4GBs.

  • HP Pavilion Notebook 15-199sa: can I install more RAM and an SSD at the same time?

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion Notebook 15-p199sa I would like to be updated by installing an additional 8 GB of RAM and an SSD.

I could do both at the same time, or it would be more advisable to do one at a time?

Usually, I'd do one at a time, but take it apart the laptop and remove the motherboard are quite a job! I have a Ph D in breaking things and I know that if I take the laptop part twice then nothing good will come of it.

I was considering also put the current HARD disk in the optical drive, but somewhere in the 20 pages of comments to this thread deals UK it is written the header on the motherboard for the DVD player is only SATA I - someone has a I experience to put a HDD in SATA optical drive? (or did someone knows if the header is really SATA I - the manual does not say).

Otherwise, I could put the existing 1.5 TB of HARD drive in an external enclosure and connect it to a USB 3.0 port. The manual says to connect external drives to these ports is OK but it does not have all the features - would it be a good idea to use a powered USB 3.0 hub or a powered external case? (rather than using the bus power).

Uh, that's all for now, I think

    John latter

    Hello

Nothing prevents you to do both at the same time. I have half a dozen old records HARD in USB 3.0, USB 2.0 external enclosures and they work fine. They work on all of my laptops and more comfort than those who have power supplies (much smaller than now).

    Kind regards.

  • Install more RAM DDR3

I recently bought a HP Pavilion n207sa 15 with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, however, I would like to install more.

I scanned my laptop on Crucial and he told me that I have 2 slots. I had a quick glance and I only see one. I don't know if it's just being stupid or something, but I can't find another.

Can someone tell me if I do or not please? Also if I just 1, is that with the purchase of an 8 GB on its own? But then, I feel that my 4 GB does no use and wasted. Can someone please solve my problem? Thank you.

Not because they never represent something different. None of the documentation related to this model will say it has 2 memory slots or specify a max memory longer than 8 gigs.

  • Re: Can I use more RAM as the official limit on Satellite L40 - 18z

Has anyone installed MORE than the official limit of 2 GB?

    Hello

    Why should someone try it?

    I want to say that the upgrade of RAM depends on various factors;
If you want to use more than 2 GB of RAM then you should follow the und BIOS chipset would support this.
If the mentioned parts n t support this, then you can not move it

That article only and is not a secret

  • Satellite Pro L100 need more RAM for the graphics

I have a Satellite Pro L100 with a 256 MB of the igp x200m no specialized version. Must automatically RAM my system RAM based on what system total RAM I have installed. 512 MB it took 64 MB, 1 GB, but 128 MB. I was wondering if someone could tell my how to beyond 1 GB RAM, say 1.5 or 2 GB?

    Thank you

    Hi Jessica

According to the specifications of the laptop, the graphics card supports 32 to 256 MB video memory shared.
So in my opinion, it should be able to use the 256 MB like max.
In the properties of the ATI radeon graphics card, you will find the tab called Frame Buffer
Here you can change the size of the memory to higher value UMA frame buffer

The memory of 1.5 GB should be enough to choose the 256 MB graphics card

  • How to install more Ram on Equium L20 - 197

    Hello world

I am new to this site and if possible need help.
My partner has a Toshiba Equium L20-197 Notebook, she was constantly telling me that it's very slow and when I watched it only had 128 MB or Ram, she is running that Windows XP so he was advised to get 1 GB of Ram, which should help to speed up.

She bought the DDR2 Ram of Mrmemory.co.uk, I have never installed new Ram on a desktop computer that was easily accessible, now she wants to move the extra Ram into his laptop. Please can someone advise me what to do.

I heard that the necessary slot can be difficult to locate on laptops and I was wondering if someone can point to me where the housing is I don't really want to be dismantle all this in fear of breaking. Is it easy to access and install?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To change the RAM on this model that s easy enough.

Shut down the laptop, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter.
Turn the phone around, you can see on the side of buttom. Remove the cache memory that is fixed by 2 screws. Remove the screws and cover, then you can see the RAM slots.

The cover of the memory is in the middle.

  • Installing more ram will make my computer Windows XP go faster?

    original title: windows xp
Good so I have a few things.

    1. I have a dell Dimension 3000 that hang out around 256 mb of ram and a 70-80 GB hard drive, I use it only for a camera of security around the House, but now the computer is so slow, that I want to upgrade.

    2. I would like to ask a few more ram in it, at least 2 GB, will make that it go faster?

    3. I also might want to replace the hard drive, it makes not go faster, and I have to reinstall the OS?

4 will be one of this affect my security camera because the dimension has these ports inside the motherboard that allows to add stuff to it and I plug this card of mother of security camera and my friend helped me to implement, he moved so that he can not help me more. I was wondering, if replaceing the drive and ram will make my pc faster and still be able to use my camera to safety without any reinstallation

    Thank you!

    Documentation: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim3000/

Note: Some of these old dell computers have only a drive Bay and the data cable is short and has only one connector for the hard drive. If this is the case and you plan to go XP disk a larger and faster hard you will need a USB external drive to store the backup Image file. Pull the old drive, use the emergency recovery CD to restore the new disk.

Also based on time, this model has been sold by Dell, the chances are very high that the biggest hard drive you can install is a disk of 120 GB PATA/IDE BIOS will not support 48-bit LBA (disks more 1237 GB in size).

Additional memory - use the Crucial utility "system scan": http://www.crucial.com/

In short the additional memory (1 GB) and a pilot of faster (7200 RPM) will improve performance a bit. But this is an older system, so don't expect miricals.

  • Menu of the BIOS on the laptop VAIO (SVP112A1CL)

I have a laptop SVP112A1CL and I have not been able to find a way reach the BIOS menu to activate the USB boot. I have read the various messages of the forum and tried F2, F10, F11, ESC with no luck. Any ideas?

Quick start / secure boot was part of it, but change the Windows setting is irrelevant. I finally found the Assist button almost invisible and pressing on it, when the laptop is off goes into a Sony menu which allows the configuration of the BIOS. I could turn on the external device to start, change the boot order and disable secure boot and back to the legacy startup and I was able to accomplish what I was after.
