Install more RAM DDR3

I recently bought a HP Pavilion n207sa 15 with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, however, I would like to install more.

I scanned my laptop on Crucial and he told me that I have 2 slots. I had a quick glance and I only see one. I don't know if it's just being stupid or something, but I can't find another.

Can someone tell me if I do or not please? Also if I just 1, is that with the purchase of an 8 GB on its own? But then, I feel that my 4 GB does no use and wasted. Can someone please solve my problem? Thank you.

Not because they never represent something different. None of the documentation related to this model will say it has 2 memory slots or specify a max memory longer than 8 gigs.

    1. I have a dell Dimension 3000 that hang out around 256 mb of ram and a 70-80 GB hard drive, I use it only for a camera of security around the House, but now the computer is so slow, that I want to upgrade.

    2. I would like to ask a few more ram in it, at least 2 GB, will make that it go faster?

    3. I also might want to replace the hard drive, it makes not go faster, and I have to reinstall the OS?

4 will be one of this affect my security camera because the dimension has these ports inside the motherboard that allows to add stuff to it and I plug this card of mother of security camera and my friend helped me to implement, he moved so that he can not help me more. I was wondering, if replaceing the drive and ram will make my pc faster and still be able to use my camera to safety without any reinstallation

Note: Some of these old dell computers have only a drive Bay and the data cable is short and has only one connector for the hard drive. If this is the case and you plan to go XP disk a larger and faster hard you will need a USB external drive to store the backup Image file. Pull the old drive, use the emergency recovery CD to restore the new disk.

Also based on time, this model has been sold by Dell, the chances are very high that the biggest hard drive you can install is a disk of 120 GB PATA/IDE BIOS will not support 48-bit LBA (disks more 1237 GB in size).

In short the additional memory (1 GB) and a pilot of faster (7200 RPM) will improve performance a bit. But this is an older system, so don't expect miricals.

  • How to install more Ram on Equium L20 - 197

    Hello world

I am new to this site and if possible need help.
My partner has a Toshiba Equium L20-197 Notebook, she was constantly telling me that it's very slow and when I watched it only had 128 MB or Ram, she is running that Windows XP so he was advised to get 1 GB of Ram, which should help to speed up.

She bought the DDR2 Ram of Mrmemory.co.uk, I have never installed new Ram on a desktop computer that was easily accessible, now she wants to move the extra Ram into his laptop. Please can someone advise me what to do.

I heard that the necessary slot can be difficult to locate on laptops and I was wondering if someone can point to me where the housing is I don't really want to be dismantle all this in fear of breaking. Is it easy to access and install?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To change the RAM on this model that s easy enough.

Shut down the laptop, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter.
Turn the phone around, you can see on the side of buttom. Remove the cache memory that is fixed by 2 screws. Remove the screws and cover, then you can see the RAM slots.

The cover of the memory is in the middle.

  • HP Pavilion Notebook 15-199sa: can I install more RAM and an SSD at the same time?

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion Notebook 15-p199sa I would like to be updated by installing an additional 8 GB of RAM and an SSD.

I could do both at the same time, or it would be more advisable to do one at a time?

Usually, I'd do one at a time, but take it apart the laptop and remove the motherboard are quite a job! I have a Ph D in breaking things and I know that if I take the laptop part twice then nothing good will come of it.

I was considering also put the current HARD disk in the optical drive, but somewhere in the 20 pages of comments to this thread deals UK it is written the header on the motherboard for the DVD player is only SATA I - someone has a I experience to put a HDD in SATA optical drive? (or did someone knows if the header is really SATA I - the manual does not say).

Otherwise, I could put the existing 1.5 TB of HARD drive in an external enclosure and connect it to a USB 3.0 port. The manual says to connect external drives to these ports is OK but it does not have all the features - would it be a good idea to use a powered USB 3.0 hub or a powered external case? (rather than using the bus power).

Uh, that's all for now, I think

    John latter

    Hello

Nothing prevents you to do both at the same time. I have half a dozen old records HARD in USB 3.0, USB 2.0 external enclosures and they work fine. They work on all of my laptops and more comfort than those who have power supplies (much smaller than now).

    Kind regards.

  • installed more ram in dell xps 600. BIOS sees it, but windows is not. I need to adjust something in windows

    See above

You did not forget how much RAM to that you upgraded, or the type of RAM you have installed, but my best guess is that you have upgraded your XPS system for somewhere between 4 and 8Gbs of DDR2-800 ram modules.

32 - bit XP operating system will see 4 GB of RAM and is only able to treat somewhere around 3.2 GB due to overhead and other material considerations. Need an operating system to 64-bit like Windows 7 Medelin address anything larger than 4 GB.

Take a look at this article for a more complete explanation.

  • Can users install more RAM on current 27-inch iMac

It's time for me to buy a new iMac - once every eight years the cycle with me. Can someone tell me if the iMac 27-inch current can be improved with the RAM at a later stage - I did with the last 2 iMacs about 3 years after purchase and helps me buy the machine and when I collected the silver set max RAM when I can. I guess that's just the 21-inch models that are welded to and not expandable?

The RAM slot is easy to get to? It's on the white 3rd gen iMac that I currently use.

I know this is probably a trivial question but can thank you waiting for a response.

    Yes, it can.

  • Windows Performance Index (WEI) is not available after adding more RAM and Win7 request reactivation.

I have Win7 Home Premium 32 bit installed on new computer OEM. I added more RAM (DDR3 1333 pair). Windows has asked to be reactivated, I did. Now WEI has no active button, shows no rating at all and says that the machine is not classified. He previously worked. What was the cause? All solutions?

Maybe Norton causes the same question. Have you tried to recalculate WEI after uninstalling Norton?

N ° you shouldn't lose all information on the hard drive.

Make sure that the Mac is saved completely before trying to upgrade the RAM.

Wow.  All this without breathing a lot and you do not use Google? * smile * you should really get in GOOGLE.

    You have this laptop:
    http://www.toshibadirect.com/TD/B2C/retail-product.jsp?poid=452314

You can easily get up to 8 GB of memory MATERIAL:
    http://www.crucial.com/upgrade/Toshiba-memory/satellite+L505+series/satellite+L505-S5990-upgrades.html

Beyond that - well - what EDITION of Windows 7 do you have?  You have given version (Windows 7) and architecture (32-bit) but not editing (home edition Premium, etc.)

In the end - it won't matter much if Windows 7 32-bit came pre-installed.  Despite the ability of the machine to have 8 GB memory installed and the material see - the 32-bit version of Windows 7 you have is not going to use it somehow.  Somewhere between 3 and 4 GB is the most he'll see/use/give you access to.  It is the nature of the beast.

Also - if it came pre-installed you can just use your product key, download Windows 7 64 bits _ and install - because the OEM for Windows 7 licenses does not work like that.  You bought Windows 7 32-bit OEM and that's all you get.  Sales in the RETAIL of WIndows 7 license would have given you the ability to change as often as you wish between 32-bit and 64-bit.

Where did put you?  Well in my digging around, I'm fairly certain that you pretty much exactly what I linked to the first.  Windows 7 Home Premium, 32-bit, 3 GB memory, processor 2.1 GHz dual core...  You can probably do a little now - virtualization might need to turn on a few things in the BIOS to really enjoy it - but it would work probably right now.  Take the free VirtualBox there and install the OS you want ot - but you probably will have to be rare on how much memory you give virtual machine (1, maybe 1.5 GB at max.)

If you are looking to improve more...  You will probably need to invest in:

-Windows 7 Professional or edition full 64-bit
-the 8 GB memory referenced above
-a larger and faster disk hard

After that - well, it's a laptop.  Reality of what you can do starting to settle in.  The above improvements would cost you somewhere (from) about 350 USD.  Your Dual Core processor will probably hinder things - how - investment as a whole better system would be wiser.
