Installing Oracle 12 c in a virtual of Hyper-V (Windows 2012) machine

I try to install Oracle 12 c on the machine performance virtual Windows Server 2012 2012 of Windows Hyper-V reviews. Oracle is a stand-alone facility, and I want to use ASM for my records.

My disk inside the VM is from disk (SCSI controller) used.

Is this a supported configuration? I'm not able to see the disk with Oracle Grid ASM installer even if I chose external open in the installer of the DSO, and the name of the storage provider is visible on the disk management utility in Windows.

Am I missing something here?

Thank you

  • Problem installing oracle 11 g 2 in a virtual machine with IP dynamic

    Hello

I have install oracle 11 g 2 on a virtual machine in Vmware workstation with dynamic IP address.

Then I noticed that the global database name is orcl.16.27.57, and the identifier service oracle is orcl on step 10 of window 19

There will be a configuration manager warning and the company failed due to the following error:

Listening is not or the database service is not registered with it.

And even I change the name of global database for orcl, it has also failed.

When I use the static IP, the name of the database world so SID is orcl.

    then complete the installation.

So I don't know what the reason is, how to install it without warning during the dynamic use of IP.

Whenever I have install oracle with static IP, I can't continue like that again.

    Help!

    Thank you

Now, I'm happy to say it works. Two methods to solve this problem.

    1. install Microsoft Loopback adapt

2 edit the file hosts, IP hostname

Of course, we can run them both.

Hello! First Oracle is a company, then perhaps you are referring to a specific software made by them?

  • Install Oracle 11g R2 on RHEL 6

    Hello

I'm trying to install Oracle 11 g R2 on RHEL6 using VM Ware workstation. I went through all the controls preinstallion and now want to create directories to hold the oracle software.

My UNIX box has only one primary partition which is the root partition (/).

Now the Oracle documentation on installing LInux say the following commands must be executed.

    # Pei mkdir /mount_point/app/

    # chown r oracle: oinstall /mount_point/app/

    # chmod 775 r /mount_point/app/

    For example:

    # mkdir -p /u01/app/
    # chown -R oracle:oinstall /u01/app/
    # chmod -R 775 /u01/app/

I want to know is the following, which one should I get about this

    (a) create a new partition, make a new file system and then mount it on the directory/U01

    or

    (b) create a/U01 directory in the root (/) directory using mkdir and just go ahead with the installation without any additional partition or file system.

    Thank you.

    Hello

as you use this machine in a virtual machine, you can simply create the folder with mkdir. The need for the mounting points on the various devices becomes relevant for productive environments due to performance reasons.

  • Problem to install Oracle 11 g - impossible to establish a remote connection

    In short:

I just installed Oracle 11 g and created a data base and the headset, but I'm unable to connect remotely with a customer database.

    My environment:

Oracle 11g is installed on a VirtualBox (4.3.18) Red Hat Linux 6.5 VM.  The host operating system is Mac OS X Yosemite.  Linux VM is assigned a static ip address and the host and vm have host entries to resolve this name server:

    192.168.58.152 rhel65opdev-vm

I am able to ping rhel65opdev-vm from these two places.

    Host: 64 bytes from 192.168.58.152: icmp_seq = 0 ttl = 64 time = 0,287 ms

    VM: 64 bytes of rhel65opdev-vm (192.168.58.152): icmp_seq = 1 ttl = 64 time = 0.027 ms

I am also able to ssh into the Linux vm without problem.  If I try to telnet to the virtual machine on the port of configured database:

    = > telnet rhel65opdev-vm 1521
    192.168.58.152 by train...
Telnet: connect to address 192.168.58.152: connection refused

Telnet: unable to connect to the remote host

Login as a user other my oracle on the same VM user, can I tnsping data base successfully:

    OK (10 ms)

The same user non-oracle, I am able to do appear SQLDeveloper and establish a connection with the database and check its schema.  But on the Mac, I am unable to use (the Mac version of) SQLDeveloper to do the same.  I get an error: IO error: the network adapter could not establish the connection.  Code 17002 provider.

I have another Red Hat 6.5 virtual VM from where I'm modeling this new machine, which has the same version of Oracle on it, installed and working (which I myself installed without problem, but a long time ago).  I am able to connect remotely to this base since my Mac using Toad and SQLDeveloper without problem and I can telnet to port of database and there is no problem.

I point out that I recently removed from the database and reinstalled.  I have created only one service: OP, but the OPXDB see below seems to be a previous installation, which can contribute to my question - not sure.

Here are a few releases of various orders, I tried following suggestions I've seen on different threads, I found through research:

  • Installing Oracle ERP 12.1 on Dual Boot PC

    Hello

I would like to know if we can install Oracle E-Business suite on PC with dual boot / operating (Windows 7 and Windows Server 2003) on separate rather than guest, operating system installation partitions using Oracles Virtual Box. Please give me some feed back.

    Kind regards

    Massoud

I read on many forums that 4 GB is sufficient if ERP is installed on the single user/single PC. Another OS 32-bit read only up to 3 to 3.5 GB of RAM. What are my options with 32 bit OS to increase the RAM.

Yes, 4 GB would work for your personal use and you manage to run a forum 12.1 with this amount of memory. That's not counting the amount of memory required for the operating system.

  • installing Oracle on ubuntu 12.10

Hi I am trying to install oracle 11 g 1 material to my ubuntu 12.10 and when I lance./runInstaller.sh
He said that this OS kernel parameter: ip_local_port_range failed and the Setup program to create a script to fix it but every time I run the script on the terminal, it gives me

"The upper limit of the range of ip_local_port in the response file is not greater than the dans/etc/sysctl.conf value, so do not change."
    NET. IPv4.ip_local_port_range = 9000 65535

    Please help me.

I tried to install Oracle 11 g on Ubuntu 12.10 also. I almost gave up, and then I moved successfully.

I've seen many people here said that it has not supported platform. Of course, it is not taken in charge, but why not give it a shot, what would be wrong?
If people have already made, why can't we learn and try to do?

The point being that it is not like someone's life depends on it. It's just the facility for a reason any.
Some people say using a virtual machine. Why'd you have to run in a virtual machine for this? Why would you have two BONES, devours the special resources of various other applications such as the IDEs, etc., office suit, browser, debug session. Of course, you need sometimes open to develop at the same time for the sake of practice.

In fact, I installed it in a virtual machine myself, but I prefer Ubuntu, then what?

So, my friend, congratulations that you have installed.

Since Ubuntu has an important part of the users of the Linux operating system, it would be useful to Oracle to support fully, so that more people would be using Oracle DB.

For the nay sayers and others, here is the link to show that it is possible:

    http://install-climber.blogspot.com/2012/10/InstallOracle11gR2DatabaseLinuxUbuntu1210Quantal64bit.html

There are a lot other guides, with the same steps to achieve this.

Therefore, it is supported? No, can you install it? Yes. This proves that supported or not, this particular case can be done, and you can do it. Enjoy!

  • Installing Oracle 11 g RAC 2: cannot delete directory under/tmp bootstrap

    People,

Hello. I want to install Oracle 11 g RAC 2 with 2 Virtual Machines (rac1 and rac2 which BONES are Oracle Linux 5.6) VMPlayer and according to the tutorial

    http://appsdbaworkshop.blogspot.com/2011/10/11gr2-RAC-on-Linux-56-using-VMware.html

I'm installing network infrastructure. I'm on step 7/10 (check the installation grid environment) and you get this error:

    "Free space: Rac2: / tmp '.
Cause: Could not determine the mounting point for the specified location.
Action: Check the specified location is available.
    Expected value: n/a
    "Actual value: n/a"

In order to correct the above error, I run "cluster verification utility" according to
http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E14072_01/RAC.112/e10717/CVU.htm I run the following command:

    [ora11g@rac1-] $ /home_grid/runcluvfy.sh pre - crsinst - n rac1, rac2-verbose stage

    Output:
    / bin/rm: cannot remove directory ' / tmp/bootstrap ': operation not permitted
    ./runcluvfy.sh:line 99:/tmp/bootstrap/ouibootstrap.log: permission denied

The above output, we see that the bootstrap of under/tmp directory is causing the problem. The solution is to remove bootstrap directory. I run the 2 commands:

    [ora11g@rac1 tmp] $ rmdir bootstrap

    Output: Operation not permitted

    bootstrap [ora11g@rac1 tmp] $ rm - rf

Output: cannot remove bootstrap: operation not permitted.

    [ora11g@rac2 tmp] $ ls

Output: there is no directory "bootstrap".

    My questions are:

First of all, who "cannot remove bootstrap in rac1" cause/tmp in rac2 could not be determine mount point?

Secondly, all folk can help remove bootstrap directory under the directory/tmp?

    Thank you.

Change ownership and permission to your home of Oracle mount point will not fix your problems with your directory/tmp. Please see my previous response. The directory/tmp uses a little "sticky", that defines the owner of a file or a directory on the owner of the process, when it was created. You've probably run a previous attempt to install Oracle by another user instead of 'ora11g', in your example, so when you run a later installation as the user 'ora11g' he can't of course cleaning of these files. For security reasons, you cannot create a directory in / tmp, as a single user and use the other to remove it unless you're root or set access permissions. Umask will define access permissions when you create a file or a directory. The value of umask (default 0022) will be deducted from 777, causing e.g. 755 or 775 in your examples. If you need help to understand these codes, Google will be your best friend. Regarding cross access of files between nodes, make sure you have equivalence (ssh key) user installation and functioning. Cluster verification utility will also check if it works.

I think there is a problem with your installation of linux, because these places of orders should be in the PATH of the root. Anyway, you can do this:

    1. open a session as root, run "/ usr/bin/updatedb '. It will take some time.
    2. When you want to find something, just type "find something", and the matches will be displayed:
