Problem installing oracle 11 g 2 in a virtual machine with IP dynamic

Hello

I have install oracle 11 g 2 on a virtual machine in Vmware workstation with dynamic IP address.

Then I noticed that the global database name is orcl.16.27.57, and the identifier service oracle is orcl on step 10 of window 19

There will be a configuration manager warning and the company failed due to the following error:

Listening is not or the database service is not registered with it.

And even I change the name of global database for orcl, it has also failed.

When I use the static IP, the name of the database world so SID is orcl.

then complete the installation.

So I don't know what the reason is, how to install it without warning during the dynamic use of IP.

Whenever I have install oracle with static IP, I can't continue like that again.

Help!

Thank you

Now, I'm happy to say it works. Two methods to solve this problem.

1. install Microsoft Loopback adapt

2 edit the file hosts, IP hostname

Of course, we can run them both.

Thank you

  • URGENT! After installing 6 Fusion and creation of new virtual machine with Windows 7, I get a message "VMware Fusion cannot enter the unit". WHAT SHOULD DO?

    After purchase, installation and activation Fusion 6 with the license key, I had a library of VMS showing 2 Boot Camp partitions. It's strange that I only have 1.
    I tried to activate them but received a message that it is out of date in 2 cases. (see annex 1)

    I started a new virtual machine with a Windows 7 installation disc directly on my HD. I have provided a way to do this and followed the instructions of Fusion to the screen.

    Apparently, everything went well and after several restarts, the installation appears to be over (see annex 2) I tried to open and run the installed Windows 7. I had however a window with the following message:

    "Pending the unit.

    "VMware Fusion cannot enter the unit. Please wait until the unit starts automatically, or interact with the virtual machine below. ' (see annex 3)

    Here Windows 7 seems to start but after a while with the home screen and of the Øresund finishing this window closed and open a new window called library Virtual Machine on the left showing the partitions of Bootcamp and the Virtual Machine Windows 7 x 64 and in the middle gray a representation of what is supposed to be the Windows 7 desktop. (see Exhibit 4). When I opened the settings button a window with different setting options pops up. This mark means to me that Windows is installed but the final opening isn't the case

    When you quit Vmware Fusion indeed Windows seems to be close (see part 5)

    What is going on? What has gone wrong? What should I do? I don't know how to solve the problem.

    I should f.i. remove the virtual machine from Windows 7 and is free automatically made partition on my HD as the reboot with the Windows installation disc? or y at - it another way to enter the UNIT?

    Help, please!

    Thanks in advance

    Your virtual machine is running. It is in the unit - which each windows gets its own window of Mac - and you have no application Windows running, there is no visible windows. You can start a Windows application in the start of Fusion menu in the menu bar at the top right, or turn on the Windows task bar on the view menu and start applications from there. Or use the view menu to switch to the Single mode or full-screen, which puts all of your Windows desktop in a window separate from Mac.

    You do not have two partitions to Boot Camp on your Mac, you have two virtual machines named "Boot Camp partition".

    The message about it being unable to enter the unit arrives while the merger is pending for the tools begin to run, because the tool is necessary for the unit.

  • Problem of migration of a virtual machine with multiple vCPUs

    When I try to migrate some of our virtual machines with vMotion, I get the following error.

    «Impossible to migrate from host a to host b: virtual machine has 4 virtual CPUs, but the host only supports 1.» The number of virtual processors can be limited by the selected guest OS for the virtual machine or the granting of licenses for the host".

    The two ESX Server are identical HP DL380 with two quad core Intel Xeon. They are both connected to the same server vCenter (2.5). They both use the same license server. And, the VM OS is set to Windows Server 2003 Enterprise (32-bit), which is responsible for 4 vCPUs (it does now after all).

    I tried moved under voltage power VM off and got the same error, so I changed the vCPU to 1 and it migrated correctly. Then, I changed it to 4 vCPUs with no problems on the new host. Only problem is, I can't stop some of the virtual machines to migrate to the new host because of the availability requirements.

    Have you tried to change the settings of your license and apply them, just in case where?  I had the weird services fails when there is a kind of latency hit the license of the ESX host server.

  • Tuxedo of Oracle and Oracle Tuxedo message queue on a virtual machine.

    Hi friends.

    How is it going?

    A small question.

    So let's go live using Oracle Tuxedo 12.1.1.0 with binding distinguished Bulletin Board and Oracle Tuxedo Message Queue 12.1.1.0 on a Virtual Machine (VMWARE) running Oracle Linux 6.2. However, we want to know if there are recommendations or mishaps in which we face before running Oracle Tuxedo on a virtual machine?

    I mean, I wonder if I have to worry about kernel parameters, settings of virtual machine or any other thing that could ruin everything.

    Another question.

    Oracle also provides certification of VMS where Tuxedo Oracle would go on top of the?

    Todd little-Oracle

    Maurice G-Oracle

    Hi Bruno.

    I'm not sure what you mean with single Liaison Bulletin Board.  I guess you mean a cluster or the MP configuration?  And is it really a clustered or just a single machine of the MP configuration?

    About the configuration, you use Tuxedo services as well or just Tuxedo Message Queue?  The biggest problem with the configuration of the BONE is the IPC resources.  If you do a-c tmloadcf on your UBBCONFIG file, it will help you to determine the required minimum IPC resources.  In general, I suggest configuration much more resources than the minimum to allow for the changes to come and for some of the parameters for heavier loads.  In particular IPC message queue settings are strongly dependent on the load.  So make sure that the maximum message size and the size of the queue are big enough for your expected workload.  You can monitor the slot load using the ipcs command.

    We don't certify virtual machine environment, but support also a long time the VM vendor to ensure compatibility, obviously VMware and Oracle VM who both do.

  • Stop virtual machines with or without VMware tools installed

    So after a power failure major where I work has taken place where the batteries of the UPS only ran about 10 minutes and the emergency generator didn't kick in, I was put in charge of writing a script that starts to stop the virtual machines and servers in a given cluster. Now that I am relatively new to the environment here, so I don't know if all the virtual machines have the tools are installed. I want to cover all bases and the virtual machines that do not have the tools installed. My script done now is it initiates closing the comments on all the virtual machines and check every 10 seconds to 120 seconds for virtual machines go offline if after 120 seconds, there are even virtual machines online, it issues a shutdown command on all servers that have not stopped. Now, he'll catch all the virtual machines, but I don't want the machine have to wait 2 minutes before totality if it can be avoided (remember that this script will be executed when the data center goes to the power of the UPS for every watt account to keep critical systems online). the script throws an error when it cannot stop because no tool is installed, so I thought I could use a try/catch block to catch the error and send just a detroit of turning control of these VMs off. I tried to do, but without success.

    Is it possible that I can either catch the error, or a stop all virtual machines that do not have the tools installed?

    Attached is my code, maybe you can spot what can I do to stop the virtual machines without tools within the do / while loop when errors occur first.

    Add-PSSnapin VMware.VimAutomation.Core
    $server = $args [0]
    $cluster = $args [1]
    SE connect-VIServer-Server $server
    $counter = 0
    {}
    If (Get-Cluster-name $cluster | get - vm | where {$_.powerstate - eq 'receiving'}) {}
    If ($counter - eq 0) {}
    Get-Cluster-name $cluster | get - vm | where {$_.powerstate - eq "receptor"} | stop-VMGuest-confirm: $false
    }
    Write-Host "VMs are on waiting" (120-$counter)"seconds"
    $counter = $counter + 10
    Sleep 10
    }
    }
    While ($counter - 110)-or ((Get-VMHost |)) Get - VM | where {$_.powerstate - eq "receptor"}) .count)-No 0
    If ($counter = 120) {}
    Write-Host "certain virtual machines did not not stop properly, tension now.
    Get-Cluster-name $cluster | get - vm | where {$_.powerstate - eq "receptor"} | Stop-VM-confirm: $false
    }
    Write-Host "Putting servers into maintenance mode."
    Get-cluster-name $cluster | Get-vmhost | where {$_.state - eq 'connected'} | Game-VMHost-State "Maintenance".
    Sleep 10
    Write-Host "stop servers."
    Get-cluster-name $cluster | Get-vmhost | where {$_.state - eq 'Maintenance'} | Stop-VMHost-confirm: $false
    Disconnect-VIServer-confirm: $false

    Try something like this

    $vm = Get-VM
    $vm | where {$_.Guest.State -eq "Running"} | Shutdown-VMGuest -Confirm:$false $vm | where {$_.Guest.State -eq "NotRunning"} | Stop-VM -Confirm:$false

    Virtual machines running VMware tools will get a judgment of comments, while the virtual machines that do not have the VMware tools running, will get a poweroff.

  • Problem running an existing virtual machine with fusion

    Im trying to run a virtual machine I use with player on my pc. He refuses to perform under the terms of the fusion of ideas?

    Blackdeerhunter wrote: Ive got further system boots to windows and then asks me to activate now what?

    Well, let's see...  Oh yes, activate it!

    BTW this is not a question of VMware itself as Windows product activation is a Microsoft problem whatever we're running Windows on a physical or a virtual machine.  Except run the Boot Camp partition as a Virtual Machine where the VMware Tools manages the database WPA to allow a start both in native and virtual mode, it would be the extent of the share of VMware in the present itself and the rest to you as a user to deal with Microsoft with.

  • How to install an OS (windows7) invited on a virtual machine

    Dear friends,

    I installed ESXi 4.1 on a system (AMD64).  I can't connect to the ESXi host of vsphere client on a laptop computer.

    I have created a virtual machine for windows 7.  Screenshot attached. As is apparent from the screenshot, I created a virtual disk for windows7, which is presented as "Windows7/Windows7.vmdk [datastore2].

    After this point, I'm not clear on the next step on how to install windows7 on the virtual machine.

    -I guess, I have to reboot the host, ESXi, with a CD of windows7, I did.

    -After a few screens, it shows the list of partitions, as shown in the two screenshots.  But none of the partitions show the virtual disk, I created and allocated using vsphere client.  In vsphere, I created a file of virtual disk of size 256 GB (maximum allowed, even though I have 1 TB * 2 discs), hoping I'd find this 256 GB as partition, on which I can install windows.

    - But I can't find a relevant 256 GB partition.

    I'm doiing it the right way?

    Is there a particular method for installing an operating system on a virtual disk file?

    Thanks in advance and best regards,

    RV

    It depends on your needs. With ESXI, which does not allow direct access to virtual machines (as you have already discovered) you will usually have the best performance and reliability. If you need to use the host and run virtual machines as part of it, then you might want to take a look at products like VMware Workstation or VMware Player who install an operating system (Windows or Linux) on top.

  • You can install vCenter as a virtual machine with fault tolerance

    The benefits of having vCenter as a virtual machine are features such as HA and snapshots, is there a problem with having a fault tolerance enabled on a virtual machine that is the vCenter server to manage fault tolerance?

    He couldn't see in the documentation for fault tolerance limits

    Well...

    vCenter lists 2 CPUs as required and FT only works with one...

    Hello Fernando,

    Could you open rwrun.jar in Jdeveloper and check the classpath in the manifest.
    I remembered that I had a problem on this(11.1.1.3 version) when rwrun.jar called a jar file javax.jsp_1.1.0.0_2 - 1.jar which does not exist in the installation (there was a newer version as javax.jsp_1.2.0.0_2 - 1.jar in the installation).

    Would not normally happen at 11 GR 2, but give it a try.

    Kind regards
