Instructions to display the bookmarks toolbar do not work - the fix is not persistent.
I use Mac OX 10.8.5 & Firefox 34.0.5. Old Bookmarks Toolbar has disappeared. Following your instructions back, but only for the active tab. Whenever I go to one of my favorites URL toolbar disappears.
Your list of details of the system shows the show - hide Bookmarks ToolBar 1.1 extension, it is therefore likely that this extension is causing your problem.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.
- Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

Although the bookmarks toolbar is selected on the view menu, the bookmarks bar does not appear on the Ribbon that precedes the main window.
Is there a visible blank spot where the Favorites should be or is there anything?

I want to get it back, he disappeared and everything I am able to do is the sidebar to bookmarks toolbar, which I hate. Can you help me? Thank you.
You can use one of the following methods to display the toolbar list and activate the desired bars it:
- Right click on a place empty on the tab bar (or the button '+')
- Press the Alt key to activate the classic menu bar > view > toolbars
- in customize mode > show/hide toolbars (see: Customize Firefox commands, buttons, and toolbars)
To enable the bookmarks toolbar, bar of menus or other bars, click it in the list.
Success?

don't know what details to tell you, that all important data are written in the question. Thank you.
You have now two folders of Bookmarks Toolbar. One of the installation of Firefox (the main one) and a 2nd file to import a bookmarks.html file.
Find the Bookmarks Toolbar folder that is under the bookmarks Menu folder and copy or drag ' drop these bookmarks in the Bookmarks Toolbar folder that is above the bookmarks Menu folder.

In firefox 15.0.1, my bookmarks toolbar has suddenly disappeared. I still have the folder marked 'Personal bar' in my favorites, and it has elements. I have the blank at the top of firefox, because in view-> toolbars, bookmarks online of the toolbar IS enabled.
I tried the answers in the various pages of the forum, and they do not work for me. When I check the view-> toolbars-> customize, appears the window customize. At that time, the items Toolbar bookmarks icon and label appear in empty space. Can I use the window customize to drag items as a separator or a space in the bookmarks toolbar. However, as soon as I close the window customize, components Toolbar bookmarks icon and the label vanish. Any separator or space that I put in, remains. I tried getting the window customize and hit 'restore default game' and I lose any separator or space, but does not fit my Bookmarks Toolbar list.
I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, no joy.
I hope that someone has something to suggest?
You are welcome

Since the upgrade today my bookmarks toolbar has disappeared.
I checked that the bookmarks toolbar is selected as turned on, what it is, but it still does not appear. There seems to be some changes in the new version of Firefox, where the top of the page menu disappears unless you go over it, I'd rather it must remain visible too, but the bookmarks toolbar is not found
Hi, you may be in Mode full screen. Point to the top of the screen and then right click > exit full-screen Mode.
To display the bookmarks bar, then right-click in the tab bar - but not on a tab and tick/check Bookmarks Toolbar. If that is not make it appear, click default settings as shown in the controls, buttons, and Toolbars Customize Firefox.
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

How can I change the location of the bookmarks toolbar?
In the new version of Firefox, the bookmarks bar is located in the upper part of the Web pages and covers buttons and links on the pages. It always gets in the way and I have to hide it for log in or out of the sites. It's annoying because I constantly have to move forward and backward between the display and hiding of the toolbar. Can it be placed above the tabs or the bottom of the page or anywhere, but in all of the current Web page?
The bookmarks toolbar should not interfere with the page at all. It seems you have to many addons including at least another toolbar. It might be that one of those that is causing the problem.
A quick way to see if one of these other toolbars would be to start Firefox in Mode safe and see if the problem goes away - questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode .

I had used the computer for a few hours when I noticed that my bookmarks toolbar was not be displayed. I added via the view menu. When I did a blank toolbar appeared, with none of my icons displayed. The icons are available in the Favorites, but do not appear in the toolbar. Also, I can not add all the icons on the toolbar by dragging them from the address bar.
There are two "bookmarks" customize the icons in the bookmarks you don't want the one with the star, that you want has a blue off the coast of the central area, do not know what it is supposed to look like (perhaps a book with 3 unused bookmarks provided next to him).
You will need to drag this icon of the empty Favorites bar.Bookmarks you should see in it are those of the 'personal bar' that you see in the bar Favorites (Ctrl + B).
When you say that favorite talk Favorites in Internet Explorer, if you imported them in Firefox, you would have to move to your Bookmarks Toolbar folder after seeing "Bookmarks toolbar items" in the toolbar bookmarks to the course to customize.

Bookmarks bar is not there after the last update!
Bookmarks toolbar no longer works. I can still access my favorites, just the toolbar will not appear even after checking and unchecking "view bookmarks toolbar".
Uros says

OK I thought about it. My browser is a mode full screen to the value by default after the update, and for some reason bookmarks toolbar does not appear mode full screen. So when is out of full-screen, the toolbar appeared.

I used view = > toolbars = > and ticked all the toolbars that I want to appear. BUT add it to the toolbar appears blank (i.e. toolbar but no add ons). AND the new custom toolbar that I created is not yet listed in the toolbars available for check or not. The only way I can get to show upward (but no function) is by clicking the Customize button. The toolbar remains open as long as the window is customize, and I can add/remove/rearrange icons, but not use any of their functions (for example. I added a new button to the custom toolbar window, but when I click of course nothing happens, because another window - window customize - is still open). I need a way to lock the toolbar, so I can access buttons to use it please!
BTW use Windows 8 and just went from IE (and fearing that I'll have to downgrade...)
TNX so much.In my opinion, which suggests that what you were actually doing was to customize the toolbar of the addons. Firefox is quite flexible and you can for example put the print icon on the toolbar of the modules or the bookmarks toolbar, and not only on a new designed user a custom toolbar.
Many modules are designed by their developers do not make use of the toolbar of the add-on. Some add-ons appear on other menus. Collusion shows also in the Tools menu. Some use the page modules interface for results or settings.
